Mustard and Eggplant

Today’s palette is a mix of lavendar, mauve, a light pink, and green.  Perfect for a spring or late summer/early fall event.

Sarah & Benjamin wanted guests to feel like they were entering a magical world when they arrived at their wedding and the day was full of awe-inspiring details which made that vision a reality. From getting married at the castle-like Wonderland Cluj Resort, to the horse-drawn carriage fit for royalty, to the show-stopping, jaw-droppingly lush, floor-to-ceiling florals by Elena Bodea – Las Floristas that filled both the ceremony and reception, guests were transported into a fairy tale for the day. Add to that that these two look like they walked out of a magazine themselves, and this may be one of the most dreamy weddings ever! The gallery is full of more incredible photos by Ioana Porav Photography, from the stunning rose petal seals on the stationery by Invogue Art, to Sarah’s romantic Milla Nova wedding gown (a nod to her Hispanic roots), to even more photos of their unbelievable florals, and trust us, you absolutely want to see them all!

A backdrop of verdant green climbing ivy and dreamy painterly florals would play a muse for any impressionist artist, so it’s no wonder that Indigo Event Design chose the stunning gardens and chateau of Monet Vineyards for this Claude Monet-inspired shoot. BLUE Floral Company created a pastel rainbow of locally-sourced florals to paint the outdoor ceremony space and stunning bouquet that is worthy of Monet’s brush itself. Lush centerpieces of coral and butter yellow peonies, lavender scabiosa, and dusty blush roses sit atop a french blue table, with just the right touch of regal elegance from gold flatware and chargers. Romantic and intimate, these photos by RTFaith Photography prove that even a micro-wedding can be a fairytale wedding too!

We’re dreaming of warmer weather over here, and we have been served some wonderful wedding inspiration on a plate. It’s a unique one for sure, as it features a trés chic wedding gown from Emily Kotarski paired with some muted colors. Cayleigh Hopkins of The Petal Report jazzed up what we typically think of “summer shades” and used deep versions of reds, blues, and purples instead. Dominique and Blake’s vision for their Scottsdale wedding was pure romance, and working alongside Jennifer Ellis of White House Design Studio, their ideas transformed into reality. The couple, dating since their sophomore year of college, were joined at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia by family and friends who had watched their love blossom over the years. A vivid color palette of berry, wine, and ivory was selected to enhance the beauty of their desert setting, and White House Design Studio created arrangements overflowing with orchid, hydrangea, and magnolia leaves to festoon the ceremony arch and adorn the luxurious reception tables. In lieu of traditional place cards, guests received hand-calligraphed notes in ivory ribbon-wrapped boxes, the notes serving as a warm thank you from the couple for joining them to celebrate their special day. There’s a magical time of year between summer and fall, where the last warm light meets the autumn’s deep berry tones. Today’s stunning inspiration shoot designed by Lindsey Brunk celebrates the eminent arrival of brisk days and changing leaves. Without Wax, Katy created a stunning bouquet in the darkest of reds and purples, which beautifully complemented the Romanian gown from Divine Atelier. Soft and elegant hair and makeup by Makenzi Laine accented the gown’s delicate movement. We are simply in love with every beautiful image from Michelle Boyd Photography!

We are smitten with Karen and Michael’s classic wine country wedding! With the help of Covenant Coordinating, their vision of an intimate gathering at Mayacama fell into place. A seasonal color palette of burgundy, eggplant, taupe, and olive echoed the gorgeous surroundings, and lovely florals by Maria Philbin Floral Design dressed gorgeous tabletops set amongst the votive-lit trees. Karen is radiant in her Amy Kuschel gown and Kate Spade heels, which are perfectly complemented by her ladies’ J. Crew dresses. We love each and every image from Julie Mikos | Photographer!

Marigold melts our hearts. That perfect shade between yellow and orange, marigold is cheerful and sweet—a beautiful wedding color choice from spring to fall!

Over the river and through the woods to Heather and Nick’s breathtaking ranch wedding we go! The natural setting of Rock Springs Ranch in Bend, Oregon, went hand-in-hand with the couple’s vision for a laid-back affair punctuated with casual but pretty details like wildflower bouquets and trees potted in burlap-wrapped containers from Cascade Garden Center. Heather’s twin sister stood near the ceremony arch—crafted from branches and surrounded by more purple and yellow blooms—in a breezy, orchid-colored chiffon dress that complemented the bride’s elegant, gauzy gown, both by Vera Wang. Heather and Nick sent guests home with ready-to-plant white pine trees from the Arbor Day Foundation to cap their day of happy memories. Enjoy these images from Michelle Cross Photography.

Happy Friday everyone! Today’s Friday Flowers are from a sunny shoot styled by one of our favorites, Holly Chapple!  Anne Robert did an amazing job photographing vintage details against the vibrant flowers plucked from Holly’s garden. The yellow tablecloth—a gorgeous backdrop for the bold blooms—is actually a bedspread Holly picked up at a tag sale a couple years ago. Cordial glasses from Belgium, white enamel vases and plates, and a sprinkling of sterling silver lend a collected-over-the-years feel to this charming backyard party setting, and we are completely in love!

I was in serious need of some color therapy and Michelle and Scott’s fabulous Arizona wedding is just what the doctor ordered! Held at the beautiful DC Ranch Country Club beneath the mountains of Scottsdale, Michelle and Scott’s wedding from Victoria Canada Weddings & Events was bold, eclectic, and romantic. I love the variety of color, styles, and textures used by Avant-Garde in the florals for the event as well as the driftwood and iron candelabras used as centerpieces. A big thank you to photographer Drew Brashler for the this fabulous eye candy today!

Rustic but elegant, beautiful but relaxed, Lydia and Joel’s wedding at the gorgeous Narnia Estate in the Chicago suburb of Lemont is oh so lovely and lush.  These two didn’t let a little downpour stand in their way! After moving their planned outdoor ceremony into the cocktail hour tent, they married to the sound of raindrops softly falling on the roof, and Lydia walked down the aisle to Trumpet Voluntary in D major after Joel surprised her with a trumpeter for the ceremony.  Inside the reception tent, the chic color palette of golden yellow, green and purple was brought to life by the unique planter-style arrangements and loose, organic bouquets from Moss Flowers.  Sit back and enjoy all of the beautiful images captured by Jennifer Kathryn Photography!

Shauna and Mike’s San Francisco wedding is just about everything I adore: a gorgeous color palette, beautiful florals, vintage cars, letterpressed invites, and a pair of fabulous shoes. Their ceremony was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen – greenery decorated the aisles, chairs, and even the drapes used at the entrance of the aisle! They celebrated their nuptials at the Ferry Plaza Building with beautiful aubergine, rose, and lavender florals by Birch. I love the mixture of fern, fresh lavender, and other unique flowers that were used in the bridesmaids’ bouquets! I’m absolutely gaga over this wedding and all the incredible photos by the amazing Lisa Lefkowitz!

Things changed for Sarah, a self-proclaimed tomboy, when she began planning her California wedding to Flo. She wanted their big day to be dainty, pretty, with maybe even a touch of frou-frou. A shabby chic event at The Summit House, it’s hard to say which of the blooms by Fleur de Di were my favorite; both the pretty mix of flowers housed by white lanterns, and the perfectly white blooms in birch sleeves that decorated the tables were, in my opinion, equally as impressive. My other favorite detail from the day was the beautiful cake which happened to be made by Sarah’s mother and sister! A girly, yet unfussy wedding with beautiful photos by Stephanie Fay Photography!

Lisa and Jason are so lucky to have incredibly talented friends who all took part in putting together the couple’s big day. Held at Sova Gardens in Sebastopol, California, the entire event was filled with tons of colorful, fun details (pinwheels and fans at the ceremony!) I am gaga over the florals by Lisa’s friend Billy, especially those lush, buttery yellow peonies. Such a beautiful and totally personalized day captured by the always awesome Emily Takes Photos!

Hello everyone! Cyd from The Sweetest Occasion here with a pretty lemon-inspired color palette for Color Week! I’ve always loved yellow. It’s such a refreshing color and it can take on so many distinct personalities depending on how you weave it throughout your day. Here it’s ladylike and elegant, with a certain timeless appeal. Paired with green and just the softest whisper of blue, I’m in love with everything yellow.

Today is such a fun day for me because I get to show off my very first designed shoot! I was so thrilled when Sara Gray asked me to create a shoot for her latest MarryThis! wedding guide, and immediately enlisted the amazing Kelly Marie Uss of Fleur to join in to help me style a romantic summer wedding shoot, full of vibrant colors and elegant and fluffy blooms. I love trends, but wanted to take a few of the design trends that are popular today, such as vintage china and lace, and use them in a way that was classic and timeless, a wedding that would stay fresh and inspiring for years to come. We chose the absolutely fabulous Aeree Loft at Room 1520 as our venue, its clean white walls and amazing light were the perfect backdrop!

A pretty little summer wedding is just what the doctor ordered on this Friday before Easter!  Heather and Erik’s Riverside California wedding was held at the Crestmore Manor by a small pond that covered by beautifully shaded trees.  The plum and gold reception has a vintage touch, with birdcages, lanterns, and eclectic antique centerpieces, and Alders Photography did a wonderful job capturing all of the charming details of the day.  Enjoy this one everyone and have a wonderful holiday weekend – see you back here on Monday!
