Here’s Rachel!

We have a fun announcement for all of you!  The winner of our EAD inspiration consulting contest, Rachel, is going to be chronicling her wedding adventures in a weekly column!  Each Friday, she’ll be clueing us in on her vendor selections, checklist items completed, and giving us all of the other juicy details.  :)  Rachel says:

Hi! I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me.  Like you, I have discovered the world of the wedding blogs. Wow! There are so many brides out there, so many different sites with so many different pretty pictures, and it can be so overwhelming! I found Elizabeth Anne Designs and it quickly became one of my very favorites. I entered and was chosen by them to receive a consultation with them about my wedding (which was so helpful to me!).  I’m so honored they would ask me to be a guest blogger on their site, and I’m really looking forward to sharing my experiences with you all!

I got engaged last November 2, and I am planning my wedding for November of this year.  My fiancee and I have been together for 2 years now and living together for over one.  After spending the majority of my life as a single girl, going out with my friends, and not really dating any one guy seriously for very long, I knew my fiancee was special the very first time we met (I don’t know if I would have said he was “the one”, but I knew he was someone special).  We met online and after having several hour+ conversations with him on the phone, we decided to meet on a Saturday afternoon for lunch.  This is now the date that will live in infamy as the 12-hour date!  I remember talking to a friend on the phone while driving to meet him, and seeing him sitting on the patio of the restaurant waiting for me.  He looked so nervous!  As I walked up, I saw that he had brought me flowers, and while this may not seem like a big deal, nobody had ever bought me flowers on our first date.  Having such a good time at lunch and not wanting it to end, we decided to go to a drive-in theater for a double feature.  Honestly I only remember one of the movies that showed that evening because all we did was talk!  The rest, as they say, is history.

C proposed to me at the same restaurant that we met at that fateful Saturday afternoon in front of many of our friends and family.  He had set up and arranged to rent out part of the place and throw me a “surprise” party.  I guess he knew I’d say yes!  It was so touching and sweet that he went to all that trouble for me.  I am so excited to be starting this next chapter in my life with him…and of course I am excited about planning our wedding!
