Invitation Inserts

Katherine writes in to ask:

Have you ladies seen any good posts or have any good ideas on what to include on the wedding invitation inserts? Besides the RSVP card, I am pretty lost.

Obviously, the setting of your wedding will dictate some of these inserts, but here’s a list of inserts you might want to include:

  • Accommodations card listing the room blocks you have reserved for your guests
  • Map and/or directions card from your host hotel(s) or the airport
  • If you are having your ceremony and reception at different locations, include a reception card with the name and address of the venue (you could also include directions from the ceremony location to the reception if you are not having programs at your ceremony that would include this information)
  • Include a schedule of events if your wedding celebration carries forward into a day-after brunch or backward into a welcome party
  • Include information on transportation from/to the event (are you hiring a trolley?  is the venue walking distance from the host hotel?  will guests need to rent a car if they are coming from out of town?)

Also, if you aren’t using a pocket-fold invitation, get creative with how you display the inserts in your envelope.  The simple ribbon tie pictured above is beautiful and allows you to bring in another color in your palette.

Kat, I hope this helps!
