Elizabeth’s NC Wedding

Elizabeth, an EAD reader, wrote us asking for advice for her October wedding. She says…

I am having a wedding in Asheville NC at a farm–ceremony out in the meadow, cocktails and dancing in historic barn, and seated formal dinner in tent. I am looking for an elegant wedding juxtaposed with the rusticity and organic feeling of the farm setting (e.g., we are hanging chandeliers and draped fabric in the old tobacco barn for a cocktail lounge). My letterpress invitations are ivory with pewter lettering and my dress is an ivory Reem Acra. I would like to add some color to the grey/ivory combination and am thinking a sage color. Can I do gold accents with that (e.g. gold chiavari chairs at dinner) or am I better off going with silver? Any more general ideas for the look/feel I am going for in my wedding?

I do love the sage/ivory/pewter with a hint of gold combination. The colors are both outdoor and elegant, and sage is a really hot color right now. However, because the wedding is outside you might have too much green. What do you think about light blue? Or a mauve? Stay tuned for more of this today….
