Branding: Sight

“A brand often includes an explicit logo, fonts, color schemes, symbols, sound which may be developed to represent implicit values, ideas, and even personality.” {Source}

First up in branding your wedding: sight. At a wedding, people typically see stationery, venue, decor, details and food.  I’ll take these one step at a time…

What do I want my wedding to look like? I need to know this before I start signing contracts. Do I want a group of formally dressed guests dancing after a plated dinner? Or do I want my guests lounging on couches having great conversations?

I want to plan a modern classic wedding that is simple, clean and straightforward. From the board yesterday, I really like the Butterfield Market logo. It evokes everything I want the wedding to be.  I would love to have a letterpress invite with this simple design.

So now that I have an idea of what the stationery will look like, I set about looking for a venue. Chapels and cathedrals are out because of their formality. I think a house would work perfectly.

Now that I have the venue….

Up next…colors, decor and food.
