The Fabulous Etsy

As I discovered some amazing wedding websites and blogs, I was quickly led to Etsy. And the earth shook and angels sang. I became an etsy freak. Bridesmaids gifts? Red Otter and Modern Printed Matter . A gift for Fiance from Kathryn Riechert. Not to mention half of my Christmas gifts. But there were three people I worked with in particular from etsy that were absolutely memorable.

Some of Lisa’s gorgeous pieces.

First up, my wedding day jewelry from Lisa with Teleecouture.

I found a necklace that I really liked of Lisa’s and worked with her to customize it. Instead of the traditional clasp she used a small black ribbon. I was so excited when it arrived in the mail. It was perfect for the wedding day and I’m excited that I’ll be able to wear it again and again! After working together she actually designed a pair of earrings and named them after me! Lisa’s creations are beautiful and full of variety, perfect for brides and bridesmaids.

Next, I came across Myra with Twigs and Honey while searching for birdcage veils one day. I already had my non-birdcage standard veil – but I was still looking for fun. After posting about Myra’s gorgeous work on my blog, she contacted me and we ended up deciding to do a small mini-birdcage piece for the rehearsal dinner. I received so many compliments on it that night. One of my friends said it was very ‘Sex in the City-esque’ Can you get a better compliment than that? I’m so genuinely excited for Myra. She left her ‘day job’ to pursue an amazing creative dream and to see her business so successful is just awesome.

Here was the final product, the night it arrived from Myra. Unfortunately I haven’t seen any pictures from our rehearsal dinner where you can really see it!

Next up, my absolute Etsy treasure. A hint? They’re letterpress…
