I can’t tell you how much I love flowers. Love them. My husband knows this and is constantly surprising me with them. I frequently find flowers in the seat of our car when he picks me up or in a vase on our table when I come back home. Guys, if your girl loves flowers, you should DEFINITELY do this.

Anyway, enough with the romance, as my nephew says. On to the reason for this post. While reading this book, I had the best idea for a floral favor. If you are a DIY or budget bride who loves flowers as much as I do (as in, even the THOUGHT of nixing flowers to save costs sends chills up your spine), why not set up your own flower market at your reception? Building on Karen’s idea of a flower shop, go all out and let your guests build their own take home bouquets.

Go to your local wholesale florist the week of the wedding, pick up as many in season blooms as you can. Make sure to have plenty of variety, and set them up in rows on the floor, a mid-height bench and a higher bench behind it. Keep the containers uniform (or at least similar). Provide small vases (our wholesale florist has plenty of these in stock and they are very decently priced) and invite guests to create their own take home bouquet. Make sure to have more than enough for those guests who might get a little greedy.

A little market inspiration…
