Getting Ready for Our Close-ups

Choosing a photographer was not a hard decision for us. I have been obsessed with Kelly Moore of Kelly Moore Photography since she started in the photography business. She has a beautiful blog and I dreamed of being one of the brides/couples on her website someday. Photography was one of the most important things to us on the priority scale and we pretty much set our photography budget around Kelly’s fees. We knew exactly what we wanted and we wanted her. The only obstacle was that the wedding was in South Carolina, we live in South Carolina, and Kelly is in Ruston, Louisiana, my hometown. I shopped around South Carolina for an equally talented photographer and found some really great options, but no one knocked my socks off the way Kelly did.

I loved her packages because they include an engagement session, a bridal session, and plenty of large prints from each session, as well as a coffee table book of all of your images from those sessions. The packages also include hours and hours of wedding coverage and coffee table books of your wedding photos. She’s just amazing!

We decided to drive to Louisiana for the engagement shoot instead of flying Kelly out here to South Carolina. My husband and I knew that we wanted to have our dog, Boudreaux, in some of our engagement pictures, but hated to drive to Louisiana with him in the car. When we considered seeing our final pictures without him in them, we knew we had to suck it up and bring him along! Louisiana in July is a pretty tough time to have your picture taken, but we were troopers. The dog had the most difficult time, but we got some awesome images with him in them. Kelly also managed to get some great shots of us in from of a wall that said, “Ruston” and that means so much to me now.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day!
