Real Weddings: Robin + Jon

Ashley and Tate are head-over-heels in love, their laughter endless, and their classic winter wedding in the Northwoods of Wisconsin is overflowing with love and joy! The couple both wanted a traditional wedding, with a sophisticated style and simple color palette. They chose Wausau’s Rothschild Pavilion to play host, and selected a color palette of black, white, and gold, with a mix of winter blooms for bouquets and fresh greenery for the reception, featuring a dramatic king’s table and swaths of white draping from the pavilion’s ceiling. Ashley donned her grandmother’s vintage gown for their ceremony and changed into a custom silk gown by Monirose Bespoke Bridal for the reception. Classic black tuxedos and black bridesmaids’ dresses of the maids’ choosing completed the elegant winter look. Wisconsin winter is magical, and we adore the images by Natashia Nicole Photography!

As wedding photographers themselves, Andie and Tony are surrounded by celebrations. When it came time to plan their own, a winter wedding was only natural, as they began dating in the winter and Tony proposed to Andie in the winter! Maryland’s Silver Swan Bayside was the perfect setting to showcase their color palette of white and green with pops of burgundy. Though their wedding was held in December, they didn’t want decor that was overtly Christmas-y, but instead had touches of the holiday, such as evergreen trees, gold details, and even Andie’s Martina Liana gown, with detailing reminiscent of snowflakes! Cascading greenery, candlelight, and a snow-flurried send-off is a winter wedding lover’s dream, and their special day is captured beautifully by Molly Lichten Photography!

April and Michael’s intimate wedding at Denver’s Halcyon Hotel is full of classic and modern touches! The Halcyon is a cozy boutique hotel, and their 68 guests were a perfect fit, ensuring that the couple could celebrate and chat with each of their closest family and friends throughout the evening. April selected a timeless, slim-fitting Nicole Miller gown from BHLDN, accentuating with a veil handmade by A Busy Mother and pretty pink Badgley Mischka shoes. Her bouquet by The Flower House Denver featuring snowy white blooms accentuated with anemones for a pop of black. Centerpieces of textured flowers, succulents, metallic elements, and lots of dreamy candles accentuated the reception ballroom at the Halcyon, with its dramatic dark details. Amy and Damian’s South Africa wedding is full of the most lovely florals and light, and we’re absolutely smitten. Designed and styled by Joelene of Oh Happy Day, the dusty pink and white palette perfectly showcased the Orchards Wedding Venue, a beautiful venue nestled in the rolling hills of the Caversham Valley. Adore Weddings created spectacular florals of blush and white blooms and greenery, including a suspended greenery ceiling arrangement, organic arm bouquet, gorgeous ceremony arch, and low and lush centerpieces that paired beautifully with silken runners, depression glass chargers, and taper candles. Each design element is thoughtfully curated and woven together to create an elegant and modern look that is also wonderfully relaxed and chic. Amy is resplendent in a sophisticated Casey Jeanne gown, and her maids donned flowing pink dresses from Chanelle Wright. Every moment is so romantic and beautiful that we could gush all day about how in love we are, but we’ll let the fantastic images from Bright Girl Photography tell the story instead!

Megan and Joshua were married on a beautiful, sunny June day at the stunning Sunset Beach Hotel on Shelter Island. The idyllic New York getaway is reminiscent of a European seaport, with crystal blue waters. Their celebration was a true family affair, with their twins, Noah and Sydney, taking part in the ceremony—under a gorgeous chuppah by Bella Flowers—which commemorated their unification as a family. As the sun set behind the glistening water, guests enjoyed a perfect summer evening and danced the night away to The Gypsy Kings Tribute Band. Every moment of this heartfelt gathering was captured beautifully by Karen Hill Photography, and we are smitten!

Modern and sophisticated, Melissa and Michael’s Chicago wedding at Hotel Allegro captivated us from the moment we set eyes upon it! The couple worked with Bianca of Estera Events to bring their vision of a chic, contemporary spring wedding to life. Working with a sleek color palette of silver, white, green, and navy, the always-fabulous Fleur created arrangements with an assortment of candles and white peonies, hydrangea, tulips, and garden roses. Every element down to the gorgeous cake from Alliance Bakery featured snowy white blooms! We simply adore Melissa’s classic bridal updo and natural makeup by Sonia Roselli, a perfect complement to her trumpet gown. Each moment is beautifully captured by Kina Wicks Photography!

Alizee and David were married at Domaine de la Rouillere in the stunning Mediterranean town of Saint-Tropez, 10 years after their first kiss! Working with the fabulous La Fabrique a Reves, the couple designed a sophisticated wedding reminiscent of the Provence countryside, with a fresh white and green color palette. Centerpieces by Marion B of hydrangea and herbs brought a botanical feel to the reception tent from Organic Concept. Alizee is exquisite in a Delphine Manivet gown and lace-trimmed veil. We simply adore each and every image from bubblerock!

Once in a while, a wedding comes that is so sublimely stunning that my breath catches and my heart skips a beat. Silvia and Henning’s wedding at Masseria Potenti is just so. The Manduria resort is ever so lovely, an Italian oasis that was the perfect setting for the couple’s sophisticated, modern wedding. The couple worked with Chic Weddings in Italy to create a wedding in keeping with Italian traditions, but with a modern flair. Herbs and dried florals were festooned above the farmhouse-style tables adorned with centerpieces by Chic Weddings in Italy. We adore the customized food stalls for the aperitif, the printed linen seating plan and table numbers, and the organic way that the wedding blended into the gorgeous surroundings. Les Amis Photo outdid themselves with the spectacular images and cinema, and we are completely head over heels!

Andrea and Alex’s Palm Springs wedding perfectly captures the feeling of their desert surroundings. Their poolside soiree is clean and classic, without any stuffiness or pretense, and you can just feel the love radiating between them! After a ceremony in the Alcazar Hotel‘s charming courtyard, guests moved poolside for the chic reception, with a family-style dinner at estate tables set beneath string lights and the glow of the setting California sun. How adorable are Andrea’s three neices as fairy-like flower girls? Their feathery gold dresses are a whimsical offset to Andrea’s stunning Jenny Packham gown. A late-night Cinco de Mayo fireworks show and late night tacos capped off the evening—we are blown away by the beautiful images from Melissa Gidney!

We are head over heels for Lauren and Taylor’s chic blue-and-white San Francisco wedding! Lauren, a wedding planner herself, immediately began pulling together ideas after Taylor’s proposal, so that—with the help of Ryder Sloan Events—they could have an outdoor affair to remember. She started with the location, Stable Cafe. The urban garden space was a great backdrop for a collection of blue-and-white ginger jars filled with florals from Mandolin Flowers. Plumosa fern garlands and cafe lights added an air of sophistication, while classic arrangements of hydrangeas, anemones, and roses accented tables covered with Swiss dot linens from La Tavola. Lauren wore her cousin’s couture Carolina Herrera Bridal gown with embellished blue Manolo Blahnik heels, a Christmas gift from Taylor; her bouquet was wrapped with long pieces of vintage lace and blue velvet ribbon. Amy Nichols Special Events ensured the day ran smoothly from start to finish, which included transforming the courtyard after the ceremony into a luxe space for dinner and dancing, along with lounging areas outfitted with seating from One True Love Vintage Rentals. Later in the evening, guests sipped warm spiked cocktails from the DIY coffee bar, the perfect accompaniment to a salted caramel wedding cake from Cake Coquette—the design of the dessert mimicked the ginger jar pattern. We are just in total love with all of these fabulous images from Julie Mikos!

This uber-mod, chic wedding held at New York’s Three Sixty in Tribeca, is a study in monochromatic palettes and sleek sophistication! All white flowers with pops of green from Ovando keep the vibe romantic and contemporary, with planning from the always flawless Ang Weddings & Events. For the Buddhist ceremony, the bride chose a romantic beaded gown by Monique Lhuillier with a Pronovias belt, while her single bridesmaid wore a white dress with a similar silhouette from Badgley Mischka. Of course, we adore that the couple’s dog participated in the festivities, dressed in his own tux found on eBay!  These images from Susan Stripling are just stunning!

We love the clean, graphic punches in Lisa and Marc’s Alberta, Canada wedding! Elegant white blooms—calla lilies, hydrangeas, and roses—from The Wild Orchid dominate the day, first at the Catholic ceremony at St. Joachim Parish and then at the Riverview Room of the Shaw Conference Centre for the reception. Lisa paired a calla lily bouquet with her Jenny Yoo Collection gown and short, mod veil from Sara Gabriel. Jennifer Bergman Weddings handled the planning and design for Lisa and Marc, who chose pops of green and navy to brighten reception tables. A tall wedding cake sans frosting from Cake Couture Edible Art is another nod to the couple’s modern sensibilities. Lisa and Marc are positively beaming in the photos on the campus where they met. We’re firm believers in elegant simplicity, and that’s precisely what Esther and Jeremy’s LA restaurantwedding delivers! In these sweet and sophisticated images from Alders Photography, what stands out most is the lush cream and green florals by Dandelion Ranch. All other decor is kept minimal for both the ceremony and reception at LA’s mod and earthy Campanile Restaurant. Esther stuns in a column-style Vera Wang gown that features an ecru-colored embellishment on the waist, defining the dress with an extra-special touch we adore! Likewise, the understated boutonniere on Jeremy’s Ermenegildo Zegna suit is a classic but stylish detail. This day was perfect for the bride and groom, who just wanted to celebrate and enjoy the occasion surrounded by family and friends.

Guests at Tiffany and Jonathan’s Montecito Country Club wedding were first treated to a dramatic floral installation by Modern Day Design—inspired by an art exhibit the bride saw at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York—and champagne before taking their seats. Tiffany stunned in a beaded Elie Saab gown as she walked down the aisle, carrying a white peony bouquet, hand-in-hand with Jonathan. After a “somber, ceremonial, romantic” vow exchange, says the bride, everyone switched to party mode, enjoying dancing, cocktails, and cake from Montecito Confections Bakery. From beginning to (late-night) end, Lacie Hansen Photography did a beautiful job of capturing every detail!

I’m completely in love with today’s wedding from Emily Takes Photos!  Not only are Nicole and Chudi a stunning couple (the amazing portraits on the streets of San Francisco are some of my favorites ever) but this wedding has a little bit of everything fabulous – a chic, modern reception at Axis Cafe with organic and exotic florals, a cable car (natch), and even traditional Nigerian wedding attire!  Nicole and Chudi are head-over-heels in love, and their radiant smiles and genuine happiness makes this wedding a joy to see!

Diana and Nick’s Florida wedding is modern elegance meets beach chic. The ceremony and reception were both held outdoors at the Watersound Beach Club, decorated with black and white striped panels as well as other black and white chairs and linens. Nouveau Flowers created several different arrangements in shades of green, ivory, and the softest shade of blush for the event. I’m so ridiculously in love with Diana’s stunning copper Vera Wang gown! It’s absolute perfection with her fabulous red hair. Such an amazing, modern wedding with equally gorgeous photos by Paul Johnson Photography.

Melissa and Jason were married at the Luxe Hotel in Bel Air. It was a modern and sophisticated event designed by JL Designs full of fresh elements like succulents, quartz vessels, white and green florals, and chevrons. Melissa’s gorgeous bouquet was a mix of white florals like peonies and orchids as well as succulents. The ballroom of the hotel was draped in white fabric and tables were decorated with incredibly sleek arrangements of lush white florals as well as succulents and viburnum in textured white and quartz vessels. I’m so in love with absolutely everything about this wedding and all the gorgeous photos by Meg Perotti – it is easy to see why this wedding was one of Meg’s favorites of the year!

Jessica and Zach both have an incredible eye for design and their modern North Carolina wedding was a reflection of each of their tastes and talents. While Jessica styled all the decor including the beautiful centerpieces and bouquet, her husband-to-be, Zach, designed all the stationery for the event. The ceremony was held at Jessica’s mother’s 1930’s bungalow in historic Hillsborough, NC where friends and family enjoyed a catered lunch with the couple afterwards. The new husband and wife then took off for an amazingly hip costume change (I love EVERYTHING about the couples’ outfits), headed to an entirely separate sit-down dinner at ACME Restaurant, and then danced the night away across the street at DSI Comedy Theater. These gorgeous photos by Graham Terhune tell a story of a truly amazing and intimate celebration!

Kayla and Newton are just one of the cutest couples ever, aren’t they?  Their Athens wedding at The Foundry Park Inn & Spa is full of love and laughter, and fabulous photos from two of my favorite people, Matt and Kate Altmix!  The day started out with the couple having a first look at a spot near the reception venue.
