Real Weddings: Lori + Brian 5.17.2008

Whitney and Matt were married on a picture perfect summer day at Charleston, SC’s historic Boone Hall Plantation. A classic color palette of blush and gold accented the rustic beauty of the location. The front lawn, with its ancient oak trees and ornate gate played host to the ceremony, and the reception on the Cotton Dock was decked out with greenery and lush blooms by Lindsay Bishop Events, with chandeliers and candles adding a touch of sparkle to the natural surroundings. Ruffled LulaKate bridesmaids dresses in peony pink added a fun pop of color and perfectly accented Whitney’s gown from Bridals by Lori. Rachel and Charlie’s Wisconsin wedding is the epitome of relaxed elegance. The only wedding ever to be held at Door County’s historical Horseshoe Bay Farms did not disappoint, as the couple worked with Carrie of Door County Event Planners to perfectly blend the grand property’s charming setting with a show-stopping reception tent for a magical result. After a waterside ceremony, guests were greeted with champagne-filled glasses for their short walk to the farm, and Rachel and Charlie embraced each guest as they entered cocktail hour under a stunning, larger than life canopy created by Flora Flowershop. The classic Sperry reception tent was filled with a sea of paper lanterns and a mix of unique tabletops, from farmhouse tables to rounds, each with a different centerpiece. A perfect Door County sunset and the glow of the tent illuminated the barns, resulting in a marvelous scene not likely to be forgotten. Sarah and Teddy’s Michigan backyard wedding is a true family affair! Held at Sarah’s aunt and uncle’s farm in Sawyer, their vision was a garden party feel with rustic elements and a bit of DIY flair. Nearly all of their nearest and dearest helped with the day’s details. Sarah’s younger sister created the stationery, her older sister played during their ceremony, and her father lit the reception tent. Teddy is a cellist and composed the song that played during the bridesmaids’ processional, and his father created beautiful pottery vases for the cocktail tables. Sarah’s mother is a photographer and created photo escort cards, while Teddy’s mother handmade a beautiful quilt for the couple featuring family wedding photos. The couple even created favors of pickled cucumbers and peppers from their garden! Stella Event Design designed arrangements in shades of blush and pink to complement the lush gardens on the property, which not only played host to the festivities of the day but also housed many guests who chose to camp out in “Tent Village”. This day couldn’t be more of a perfect labor of love, and we adore the beautiful way it was captured in the gorgeous images from Jen Lynne Photography!

Jennifer and Daniel fell in love with the French-Vietnamese chapel and covered barn at Camp Lucy the moment they set eyes upon the venue just outside of Jennifer’s hometown of Austin, Texas. With a short engagement, the couple pulled together a dream team of vendors to create their rustic, elegant day. Beautiful florals from Posey Floral and Event Design brought the outside in, with eucalyptus and hydrangea trumpets flanked by low-lying peach and ivory blooms in wooden boxes. Personal details were peppered throughout, from the lace sachets handcrafted by Daniel’s grandmother, which were filled with French candies to honor Daniel’s French heritage, to the grapefruit fizz signature cocktail, the recipe crafted by the couple. We adore the fresh seafoam green bridesmaids dresses from J.Crew and Jennifer’s sleek Pronovias gown from Brickhouse Bridal,with a chic updo by Mandy Silver. We were completely and utterly smitten by Loriann and Wesley’s Texas Hill Country wedding at Camp Lucy the moment we set eyes upon it. The couple mixed relaxed glamour (how fabulous are Loriann’s bejeweled Gianni Bini heels?) and romantic decor to create a sweet, slightly shabby-chic soiree. Bee Lavish designed a garden ceremony under a magnificent arbor by Whim Florals, with illuminated oak trees and elegant, bright florals on each aisle pedestal. Guests then moved inside the timber-framed Great Hall, where they were greeted with farmhouse style tables, lush garland centerpieces, and vintage china. Loriann is the picture of sophistication in an Enzoani gown and her mother’s vintage veil, and her maids are sweet and chic in J.Crew frocks. Adelina and Donnie envisioned a soft, romantic wedding with a natural feel, and the rustic charm of Leesburg, Virginia’s Rust Manor House could not have been more perfect. Adelina handmade many of their wedding elements to add to the homespun ambiance, including the wedding stationery, escort cards, and signage. Their floral, created by Christine Chung Flowers, was designed with a hand-picked feel, with a mix of succulents, garden roses, and greenery. Adelina is beautiful in a lace cap-sleeve gown from Katherine’s Bridal Boutique, her hair beautifully upswept by Julie Flury of Jewel Hair Design. Sarah and Mark’s wedding is a bit of Pacific Northwest charm with an intimate European feel. Sarah is a classical art historian who studies ancient Italy, so the decision to host their August wedding at Seattle’s charming Corson Building for her August wedding was an easy one. They wanted their wedding to feel like a large Italian family dinner party, and the Corson Building’s beautiful gardens and villa aesthetic was a perfect match. Rachel of Finch and Thistle Event Design drew the inspiration from the landscapes and gardens of Italy, with lush garden flowers in soft pastel tones and loose organic greenery. Guests feasted on locally caught, foraged, grown, and harvested products, served family style. Each moment of this gorgeous gathering is beautifully captured by Ryan Flynn.

No one does a pretty mountain wedding like the amazingly talented Michelle Leo Events and it’s easy to see why this summer Park City stunner is a favorite! The picturesque Montage Deer Valley was the setting for Joe and McKenzie’s summer soiree. With a pastel color palette ranging from powder blue to soft blush and texture galore, the wedding’s design is all about classic romance. After an outdoor ceremony in the glorious Utah sun, guests moved inside and were greeted with a cozy reception room, featuring taper candles, luxurious rosette table runners, and garden-style arrangements from Urban Chateau Floral. Perhaps our favorite details? The delicate gold glass chargers and rose gold flatware. We simply adore the beautiful setting and lovely images from Shannon Elizabeth Photography!

We think Yuan and Joe’s Illinois wedding, filled with summer blooms and just-right sophisticated touches, is just lovely! Fluffy peonies, dahlias, and garden roses from Heidi Ong of Petals Farm are lush and perfectly seasonal for the outdoor wedding at The Grove Redfield Estate in Glenview. We are really loving the peach and navy bridal party color palette—especially those fun bow ties on the groomsmen. Yuan is stunning in a mod, structured Romona Keveza gown with playful Kate Spade shoes that feature metallic gold bows. The pretty reception included lots of pink and cream decor details, finished off by a simple cake from Oak Mill Bakery that’s dotted with perfect pink flowers. Clary Pfeiffer didn’t miss a single thing!

Braden and Adam describe their wedding as “elegant, classic, and fun” and we totally agree! After a week of non-stop rain, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and the weather was perfect for their big day at Basalt’s Roaring Fork Club. The mountainside ceremony setting is simply stunning, and a beautiful arbor accented with greenery by Carolyn’s Flowers was the only adornment needed. Virginia from Bluebird Productions made sure that the day went off without a hitch, and worked with Carolyn’s Flowers and Pink Monkey to pull together the gorgeous reception tent, with an elegant floral chandelier and drool-worthy centerpieces of lisianthus, garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, and orchids. We’re completely head over heels for these images from Kate Holstein!

Alyssa and Grant’s Wine Country wedding is oh-so-sweet! They envisioned a romantic, effortless, and intimate celebration—a true celebration of who they are as a couple, and oh, did they ever succeed! Oak Farm Vineyards provided the perfect laid-back, rustic backdrop for an outdoor ceremony and alfresco-style dinner, both featuring lovely handmade details. Guests entered underneath a floral pennant garland, and were greeted with signs created by Alyssa’s father out of wood from their backyard and a vintage truck filled with quilts Alyssa cuddled with as a child. An escort card gate salvaged from her parents’ yard, heart-shaped wreaths at each place setting made from rosemary clipped from their garden, and a vintage secretary desk showcasing family photos are just a few of the sentimental and heartfelt details they brought to their day. You know when two wedding photographers are getting married, it’s bound to be spectacular! And such is Sarah and Matt‘s magical affair at Salvage One. The industrial, whimsical locale was perfect for pastel florals from Fleur, romantic candlelight, and vintage decor from BHLDN. We adore their invites, elegant but fun with silhouettes, from Love vs. Design. Sarah said no to traditional bridesmaids and matching dresses, and instead focused on a gorgeous classic gown from J.Crew for herself paired with glittery Kate Spade shoes. Special touches at the event, coordinated by Liven It Up Events, included desserts from Molly’s Cupcakes, mini burgers from The Slide Ride food truck, and custom cloth napkins by Dot & Army. We’re swooning over the amazing images by Pen / Carlson and we know you’ll agree that it’s one of our favorites of 2013!

Elizabeth and Evan’s Florida wedding is pure rustic elegance! Held at Lecanto’s Black Diamond Ranch, their November nuptials have not only a set of stunning bridesmaids in pink chiffon, but also four positively adorable flower girls! After a beautiful ceremony on the lawn, guests moved inside for the reception, featuring beautiful branch centerpieces, silver linens in an assortment of textures, and a four-tier confection from Cakes by Maggi. The ladies of 2 Sisters Events & Designs worked with the couple to plan their day, and all of the beautiful images were captured by the fabulous Justin DeMutiis Photography. Kelly and Nick’s intimate Ann Arbor wedding had us at hello! Not only are we a sucker for weddings with dogs (and this wedding has two of ’em!) but we are smitten with the beribboned altar, the loft setting at Zingerman’s Events on 4th, and the gorgeous reception with string lights, a chalkboard photo booth backdrop, and beautiful flowers by Sweet Pea Floral Design! Rachel and Stephen’s snowy and romantic wedding in Park City at The St. Regis Deer Valley reminds us of an elegant Parisian affair! These glamorous images from Chantel Marie Photography have us dreaming of winter in Europe. Pink and cream blooms from Calie Rose Floral & Event Design are aplenty, woven in hair wreaths for bridesmaids and sweet bouquets for Rachel and her bridesmaids. We love the mix of blush and black bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN, Nordstrom, and Watters. Rachel’s Enzoani gown is stunning, especially with her soft updo and sparkling headpiece. Oh, we do love a playful theme around here, and Valerie and Michael’s wedding doesn’t disappoint! We love these happy images from Alders Photography, especially the ones centered around the Ferris wheel and oversize balloons! We also adore the drama of strands of lights hanging from the trees during the couple’s outdoor ceremony at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Mulberry Row weaved together arrangements of pink and green flowers dotted with succulents for a slightly rustic feel, and bridesmaids wore sweet pink dresses by Bill Levkoff that complemented the florals. Valerie stunned in a St. Patrick gown from Karoza Bridal. Continuing the carnival theme at the reception, the couple opted for fun touches like popcorn and a cotton candy cart from Dolly’s Sweet Dreams Cotton Candy, along with a simple cake from Nikol Nakamura. Melinda and Matt’s wedding is simply a stunning example of how gorgeous rustic and elegant vintage decor can look when paired together! Held at Sodo Park by Herban Feast in Seattle, McKenzie Powell Floral & Event Design created a fairytale backdrop, with greenery gardens, vignettes of cream and blush roses grouped on mirrored trays, and swags of flowers everywhere you look! We’re loving the sparkly glamour of gold sequin linens from La Tavola Fine Linen Rental, too! Melinda’s single bridesmaid wore a silver dress from White by Vera Wang, while she opted for a flowy romantic gown by Hayley Paige paired with a rhinestone hairpiece that adds extra sparkle. What a breath of fresh air Melanie and Jordan’s romantic Australian wedding is! We love the collected, vintage feel of the photos from Feather and Stone. The pink and garden beauty of Ampelon Gardens is a stunning backdrop for this affair. There are so many gorgeous blooms from Flowers of Elegance Redcliffs, especially in romantic bouquets and also pinned in soft updos and braids. The coral-pink of the bridesmaids dresses from Cinderella’s Bridal World blend elegantly with the surroundings. We adore Melanie’s custom Caleche Bridal House gown, with its sweet lace details and vintage look. Spending some time scrolling through all of the fabulous details, like burlap and lace touches at the reception, a clever doily seating chart, and pretty floral china, in the photo gallery!

Oh my, we are drooling over the gorgeous wedding of Katie and Brian! The elegant 1920s touches mixed with a bit of rustic glam is just the perfect combination for an outdoor affair in Oregon. The design by A & B Creative is flawless, and flowers in shades of pink, lavender, green, and yellow by Fleur:ology Wedding Floral + Styling are unlike any we’ve ever seen! We like the fresh blooms on the side of the intricately iced Beaverton Bakery cake, too. Of course, we always love the romantic look of a Claire Pettibone gown; Katie added a veil from August Veils to hers, and she’s stunning! We simply adore these beautiful images from Deyla Huss Photography.

The mix of elegant and rustic details in Chanda and David’s Dover, Florida, wedding is stunning perfection! The outdoor ceremony, held under trees draped with Spanish moss at Cross Creek Ranch, was filled with the classic touches we love about a garden wedding: ranunculus and spray roses in bouquets by Alta Fleura, mason jars filled with white blooms, and white lanterns hanging from branches. Chanda paired her mother’s antique lace cathedral-length veil with her Demetrios gown. Bridesmaids wore elegant designs from Bill Levkoff. The reception, held outdoors and in a barn on the ranch grounds, featured lots of sheer linens, twinkle lights, and personal touches. We especially love the lace linens and the stacked ruffled look of the icing on the cake from Alessi Bakeries. Delicious!
