Long before we ever got engaged I knew one thing for sure.
I. Hated. Bridesmaid dresses. I mean physically cannot stand them. Now before you start typing out an angry email to me; hear me out. I am a practical person. When it comes to money, I always want to find the best deal and something that is reasonable to buy. I’ve never understood the concept of saying to your closest gals, “hey, I love you so much that I want to honor you by being in my wedding. Oh and by the way, it’s going to end up costing you hundreds of dollars before it’s all over. LOVE YA!” I also cannot justify spending $200 on a dress. ESPECIALLY if it’s a dress that will only be worn once (lets be honest, those dresses can never be worn again).
Originally my plan was to have them all wear a black dress of their choice. I loved how it worked out for SexyRedFrame-and I was ready to let my girls wear whatever they wanted (in black). Here was my inspiration:

However my Dad, who is paying for our wonderful wedding, did not like the idea. He liked the look of a more matching bridal party. So we compromised. We found AWESOME dresses from Victoria’s Secret, and the girls love them. They can wear them over and over, and they weren’t expensive. YAY!

Cute, huh? Now I know everyone has seen images from my next inspiration. I love this wedding and I LOVE the bridesmaids look. My girls are pumped to rock some awesome boots at the farm.

Now for their flowers. I didn’t want to spend a ton on bouquets. We didn’t need to hire a florist for any table decor because it’s being provided by the venue. The scenery is so gorgeous so I really didn’t want to try to compete with the natural setting. SO, we are doing the bouquets ourselves. After much thought, I decided to do wheat and dried flowers. This way we can do the bouquets ahead of time and not have to worry about them at all the days before the wedding. Here is an inspiration photo, but we got a lot more dried flowers and wheat at the wholesale florist.

So there you have it. Our unique and different (still not my dad’s favorite, but he’s dealing with it) bridesmaid look.
Anyone else out there doing something totally different and unconventional for their bridesmaid look? Please say so so I don’t feel like a weirdo!
