Yeah, you read right. Â The song I’m walking down the aisle to is Classical Gas. Â Have any of you seen the movie, “Story of Us“? Â It’s amazing, and I think anyone in a relationship should see it. Â There is a scene where Michelle Pfeiffer is remembering a montage of her marriage to Bruce Willis-the song that plays during this is Classical Gas. Â Go ahead and watch the video…The song and the scene I’m talking about is from 1:20-1:30. Â I’ll be here when you get back…GO!
SEE?!!? Â Amazing, right??
Well, Vince plays guitar. Â Very well. Â When we fell in love he had just learned to play that song and he would play it for me over and over. Â I fell in love with him over that song and it means so much to both of us. Â The movie means a lot to us, and then the song.Â
Because of this we had always said that it is the song I would walk down the aisle to. Â There are no words to the song, but it’s absolutely beautiful and I cannot hear it without thinking of us, our love and our future.
We will have a friend play it on the guitar as I walk down towards him. Â I absolutely cannot wait for that moment-when it will feel like we are the only two people in the world, and all I want is to walk towards him and marry him. Â Ah, it’s going to be great.
While we’re on ceremony music, I’ll go ahead and tell you the other song we are using. Â It’s the Jason Mraz, Colbie Calliat song-Lucky. Â If you haven’t heard it-you should go listen to it now. Â
Wow, we sure are spending a lot of time apart in this post, aren’t we?! Â What did you think? Â Yeah, I love it too.Â
In addition to music we are also writing our own vows. Â Which is a topic I don’t want to discuss because I don’t know where to begin with them! Â I have so much to say and I’m afraid they are going to end up being 30 minutes long! Â Vince’s Dad is marrying us, so he will be saying some sweet things, and then my Mom is going to do the hand blessing for us, which I’m so excited about. Â I could go on for days about music we are using for the rest of the wedding, but I’ll save it for another post. Â
I cannot believe we are going to be standing there in…
YAY!
Any of you lovely brides out there using some non traditional wedding songs for your ceremony?
