DIY Wedding Details: Kusudama Paper Flowers

This DIY monogrammed napkin ring made from burlap and ribbon is a lovely small detail that would make a beautiful addition to any place setting and could be customized in a variety of ways.

I have a mad crush on crafters that use common objects to create gorgeous treasures – which is exactly what Pam Garrison did when she paired tissue paper, coffee filters, and string to create this fabulous garland.

Amanda at the Vintage Glam blog is holding a DIY contest and posting some beautiful entries!  I am over the moon for these positively lovely DIY wristlets and boutonnieres made from artificial flowers and other ephemera.

Found on the ever-fabulous iDIY blog, these tissue paper carnations are absolutely gorgeous!  The colored edge makes all of the difference and gives such a realistic look to these creations!

Is it obvious that I love creating flowers from unexpected materials?  Becky from the fab Beetlegirl Design blog shows us how to create tulle blossoms that are perfect for adorning the branches in your centerpieces (or for adding faux flowers to your invites…  or to dress up a plain shawl…  or in a DIY headpiece…)!

While doing a little registry shopping recently, I was floored to see such gorgeous silk flowers at Pottery Barn (of all places)! My previous experience with silks has been less than impressive, but it appears that they’ve come quite a long way in recent years!

Gorgeous project found via Style Court – handmade chrysanthemums from Alabama Chanin’s Alabama Stitch Book.  These flowers are made from (believe it or not) cotton t-shirts.

I believe I’ve mentioned my love for the blog One Pretty Thing before…  This time they have led me towards a new crush, Domestifluff, who teaches us how to DIY Pom Pom flowers.

I’m absolutely over the moon for these easy, cost-effective, and gorgeous DIY organza flowers!  Not only would they be perfect as part of your centerpieces, but what about chair ties, or in boxed invitations, or as a headpiece… the possibilities are endless!

A while ago, we shared this Modern Yellow and White Tablescape and everyone loved it so much that for today’s Friday Flowers we’ve got a tutorial for you on how to create it yourself! Designed by Dani at Studio Fleurette, this tablescape is fresh, modern, and easily modified for any style of event! Change out the type of flowers used (switch out the craspedia for roses perhaps?) and voila – a completely new look!  Here’s the down-low on creating this organic, stylish tabletop.

This doily and cupcake liner garland adds a romantic, handmade touch to your decor, and it’s super fun and easy to do! You can use the doilies as they come, but we decided to tea-stain ours to add a little color. We also used a variety of different sized cupcake liners to add dimension.

Hammered spoons are a beautiful addition to your wedding tabletop.  Perfect for an elegant, rustic wedding, use them as favors, escort cards, or table numbers – the options are endless.  I’m so happy to have McKenzie Brickl of La La Soiree and Kate Sommers of KNG Sommers Photography stop by EAD today to share a step-by-step tutorial for creating your own hammered spoon place cards, and you can see them in action on a lovely olive green and gold tabletop they created!

There is just so much pretty in this shoot, I’m over the moon! Kelly Maron Horvath of Paper Stories, Lauren LePine of Ryan Alexander Events, Lynn Fossbender of Pollen, Stevi Savage of AveryHouse, and Shannon Spellman of Plate have dazzled me with their interpretation of glitz and glam for the Inspired Creations Contest, it’s an absolute wonderland of handmade charm.  Mercury glass accents, mother-of-pearl buttons, satin ribbons and gilded china from Plate are just a few of the ways that the team incorporated glitter and glam into their tabletop and dessert display.  And since the Inspired Creations Contest is all about being fabulous on an approachable budget, everything from the sewn paper bunting to the ribbon table runner, escort card holder, cake topper, and even the cake itself was created by Kelly, and all of the decorative accents used in the shoot were brought in from the team’s homes and studios.
