Arvind and Karisa have such a sweet story, and their wedding was a total handmade community affair! I adore the photography by Ellie Grover – she captured the love between the couple and the sweet details of the day perfectly.
Karisa and Arvind met while volunteering in India. Ellie says: It wasn’t until Karisa’s last day that Arvind made his feelings known, and today they’ve made it past the hurdle of a long distance relationship all the way to their marriage vows!
Karisa’s beautiful gown was handmade by a friend with silk from India.
All of the flowers were created by a friend of the couple with flowers purchased at the LA Flower District Market. The peach, orange, and yellow flowers coordinate perfectly with the bridesmaids’ vibrant green J Crew gowns!
A bridesmaid created the fresh and fun fabric boutonnieres for Arvind and his groomsmen.
Arvind and Karisa’s love is so palpable, I love how it shines through in Ellie’s portraits!
I’m in awe that Karisa’s bouquet is DIY – it’s phenomenal!
The ceremony was held at the Grace EV Free church in La Mirada, CA with the reception just outside on the lawn.
On to my favorite part… the tablescapes! All of the vases and jars were collected by Karisa and her family in preparation for the wedding and were set on tablecloths and table runners hand cut and sewn by friends out of sari fabric. The result was so colorful and warm and completely beautiful!
A photo booth was set up using a chartreuse couch, perfectly in theme.
A tree motif drawn by Ellie was incorporated into several elements, including the linens that lined the altar during the ceremony and the graphic for the children’s table’s coloring books!
Scrabble games were set out for guests to enjoy.
Love…
