They say rain on a wedding day brings good luck to the bride and groom, but what does rain on engagement shoot bring? For Jinaan and Brian, it brought amazing photos! They started out at their favorite pub near Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia and then, despite the drizzle, they took to the streets to wander the area. The wet pavement created a vividly romantic backdrop and Ash Imagery captured photos of the couple that were just as equally fabulous! If this shoot doesn’t get you in the mood for a Valentine’s Day date night, we’re not sure what will!
We have a tasty (pardon the pun) little engagement shoot to share with you today! Mindy and Mark love to cook together so they brought in Amanda from Swoon Over It to capture some of the sweetness. These two are adorable and their food looks delish, so fun!
Christiana and Brad’s adorable Philadelphia engagement session has a dog, a bike, and some ice cream. What more could anyone want? Sofia Negron stopped down to Philadelphia from NYC for the day to capture the sweet “getting to know you” session, which incorporated the couple’s outdoorsy, sporty side and their love of sweets with a visit to The Little Candy Shoppe.
There may be no more appropriate setting for engagement photos than Rome, “the Eternal City”. Zora and Fely wanted to capture the beauty of one of their city at a place that has always fascinated Zora, the Pantheon. Together with Teresa of In Love In Italy Photography, they spent an afternoon strolling from Ara Pacis Augustae across the river Tevere to sit for a cappuccino at Splendor Parthenopes. They then headed to the Pantheon, crossing Ponte Sant’Angelo and watching the sun set behind the castle. Although they arrived at the Pantheon at the most crowded hour of the day, Teresa captured a stunning image of them standing still with people milling all around—Zora says: “It is my absolute favorite, it captures us and our love profoundly.” We love the enchanting city of Rome and these stunning photos from In Love In Italy Photography!
Wes and Olivia’s engagement session is so terribly chic, it’s almost too much to handle! In my next life, I hope to be as stunning as Olivia, who effortlessly rocks a baby blue knit frock, a gold headband, and plum tights. And let’s not forget Wes, whose worn-in ankle boots and skinny striped tie are the perfect laid-back look. Add in absolutely dreamy photos from This Modern Romance at San Juan Capistrano’s Serra Plaza and you have an engagement session that’s pure autumn perfection!
Lisa and Ryan’s date night engagement session is all about their favorite things—first a picnic with their pup and then a dinner date in downtown Wausau, Wisconsin, wandering along the town’s charming cobbstone streets and then visiting one of their favorite patios, the Back When Cafe!
We are drooling over these heart-stoppingly beautiful Brooklyn Bridge engagement photos from Carmen Santorelli! Chris and Natalie chose a classic NYC theme for their upcoming Central Park wedding and decided that the iconic Brooklyn Bridge would be the perfect backdrop for their engagement session! They strolled the bridge and the Brooklyn Heights Promenade on a gorgeous late-summer day, hand in hand. I just adore how head-over-heels these two are for each other!
We love a casual, fun-loving engagement shoot, and Chris and Cassi’s Coney Island engagement photos by Jen Huang Photography are fabulous! The cute couple spent a day at the Brooklyn boardwalk playing games, trying out carnival rides, and just generally being in love. The result is adorable photos that show off Cassi and Chris’s personalities. We are completely smitten!
The heart of Ellen and Tom’s engagement session with Jordan Brittley—and their dog, Rocky—is a sweet and romantic picnic set in Forest Park in St. Louis. We love the pretty, low-key arrangement of tulips and hydrangeas, purchased at Trader Joe’s and hand-tied by Ellen’s mom. The gold leaf monogram topper by Crosswire Design adds an elegant touch to the Derby Day Pie Ellen made; the first taste of this dessert is what won Tom over in the beginning! We’re big fans of the vintage feel of these photos, aided in part by floral Ralph Lauren china—real plates on a picnic, swoon!—and linens from Cake Vintage Table & Home. Enjoy these lovely images!
We are completely in love with Debbie and Kevin’s fun Huntington Beach engagement session! The California light is simply lovely, and the love that Debbie and Kevin have for each other shines through in every image. We love Debbie’s beautiful cobalt dress paired with Kevin’s dapper navy suit, and their quick change into more relaxed beachy-toned wear, too! Sit back and enjoy all of the beautiful images from Christine Choi Photography!
Connie and Ted’s adorable engagement session is so unexpected for Los Angeles—there’s no trace of the city, just lots of hearty succulents, a little potting soil, and so much love! These two genuinely enjoy playing and hanging out together, and it’s so clear in these fab photos from Caroline Tran. We’re sure that the couple who gardens together, stays together!
Amber’s Prince Charming is literally riding a white horse—how lucky can a girl be? Amber dreamed up the theme of her engagement photos with fiance Josh and Aislinn Kate Photography, and we think these images are so dreamy! The two of them met up in a field, complete with wildflowers and a white Percheron horse, to make this fairytale come to life. We love Josh’s pale pink shirt paired with Amber’s gauzy white dress and pink floral hair wreath by Supposey Wedding Florals to round out the soft, romantic feel. Our favorite part is the image of the two of them riding off into the sunset—stunning!
How fun is this safari-style engagement session from Esther Sun Photography? Jenny and Andrew headed out to Safari Barn in Winchester, California, for a laid-back day with camels, zebras, horses, and goats! We love their chic look against the rustic barns and quiet pastures. Enjoy these unique and lovely pictures from their shoot!
Laura and John—fresh from a flight home to Chicago from Istanbul!—spent a day around the West Loop with Julia Franzosa Photography for their casual but hip engagement photos. Navy and green are crisp and vibrant in their images at The Publican and near Fulton Market; monochromatic outfits on abandoned railroad tracks give off an earthy, laid-back vibe. We especially love the cozy, homey feel of the couple sitting on their front steps. Laura and John look so comfortable in these photos, and we just adore their natural smiles and happy faces!
Hooray for engagement shoots with pets—and we’re especially partial to pups! Kris and Lauren’s lakeside photos in Dallas are the perfect family photos. Their two beautiful babies joined them to celebrate their engagement, and we just love the laid-back, playful photos from Matt and Ivy Photography!
We just love creative couples who like to have fun with their engagement photos, and Alvina and Edwin definitely did! Along with Laura Leslie Photography, the two headed to The Gwinnett County Fair, north of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, Georgia, early one morning to beat the crowds. Then they spent a few hours just having a total blast together, and it shows brilliantly in these images. The spirit of this entire shoot is playful, bright, and wonderful—enjoy!
What do you get when two graphic designers head over to the hipster-cool Brooklyn Bridge for engagement photos? An impeccably dressed couple against one of the most iconic backgrounds in NYC! We love the green and navy Grace and Mark paired for some of their images by Arielle Doneson Photography, as well as the graphic polka dots and plaid they wore in photos with their pup while hanging out at DUMBO. We can bet their wedding will be just as stylish as these chic engagement shots!
Julie and James’ sweetly innocent engagement shoot in the woods and meadows has us swooning! The soft afternoon light shining on swaying yellow wildflowers illuminates Julie and James so these images from Clary Photo are almost ethereal. Of course, fab photography and a beautiful couple make it all look so easy!
Jackie and Paul’s crisp, sunny session with Brooke Images is half laid-back Florida chic and half sophisticated New England nautical, and we adore every single photo! The couple chose classic coastal colors for their clothing—yellow, navy stripes, turquoise, and white—as they played and posed on docks and beaches around Amelia Island, Florida. We especially love their creative save the date shot with a life preserver and oar. So cute! We hope you enjoy this fun couple’s lovely engagement shoot!
We love Laci and Dan’s sweet engagement photos, shot during the height of cherry blossom season in New York’s Central Park! Lindsay Madden Photography took these wonderful photos of the couple as they strolled the lush outdoors surrounded by pretty pink buds that perfectly complement Laci’s precious dress. We can’t think of a better, more romantic spot to be!
Julie and Ross’s love story began like any budding romance in college: Julie walked into a summer party Ross was already enjoying, and she caught his eye immediately. After he scrounged up enough courage to chat with her, they found out they both were attending George Washington University in DC. Realizing you couldn’t get any more serendipitous than that, Ross asked Julie out on a date and the rest was history. With an epic wedding proposal at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Temple of Dendur exhibition, the duo followed it up with more amazing architecture and chose to wed at Philadelphia’s Cathedral of Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and hosted their reception at Union Trust. Julie donned a stunning Berta wedding gown with vine detailing and Ross was the spitting image of a classic Hollywood leading man in his J. Hilburn tux. Kristin Weaver Photography’s captures show us all of the glitz and glam of the day and it instantly transports us to this fun fête.
One thing is clear from these images by Sarah Der of Kristen and Brendan’s Philadelphia wedding: fun was the theme of the weekend! With all the festivities centered downtown, Kristen says it was easy for guests to get around and explore the City of Brotherly Love. The ceremony was held at the intricately detailed Liberti Church, followed by a chic black and gold reception at The Down Town Club. Following Kristen’s request for lots of pink flowers, Cleavers Petals in the Park fashioned together shades of deep fuchsia and pale blush roses with hydrangeas and dusty miller. Deep turquoise bridesmaids dresses from The Dessy Group provide an additional splash of color. Kristen is breathtaking in a satin strapless St. Patrick gown from Tre Bella, Inc., and a veil trimmed in lace from Modern Trousseau. To ease the stress, Cescaphe Event Group coordinated the planning, design, and other particulars, so Kristen and Brendan could mingle and dance with guests before cutting their gold polka-dot cake—a playful twist on the elegant black and gold decor. We can’t get enough of this gorgeous affair!
Diana and Aaron jetted to Philly, where they met, to celebrate their wedding with friends and family. A classic Quaker-inspired ceremony, held outdoors at The Shambles in the historic city, was a more traditional contrast to the industrial reception site of Power Plant Productions. The entire day was marked by understated but gorgeous green and cream flowers done by Valerie Hemphill, Diana’s aunt. Christina Hill of Chill Weddings kept the day running smoothly for the couple and their out-of-town guests. Diana’s Art Deco-inspired Jenny Packham gown featured amazing beaded shoulders that sparkled all night, while the entire bridal party wore elegant gray dresses and classic suits from J.Crew. We think the simple wedding cake from The Night Kitchen Bakery & Cafe fits right into the modernist white reception decor, simply adorned with white orchids. The always-fabulous Love Me Do photographers shared this amazing celebration—see all of the gorgeous details in the gallery!
Kaveri and Michael’s wedding ceremonies—as in, they held not one but two gorgeous ones at The Horticulture Center at Fairmount Park Conservancy—are brimming with traditions of their Indian and Jewish heritages. Elaborate Indian dresses—Kaveri’s is by Frontier Raas—henna tattoos, and costumed horses dazzle for the Hindu ceremony. During the Jewish nuptials, Kaveri changed to an elegant Oscar de la Renta gown and carried an unusual but gorgeous mix of white calla lillies, peonies, and red roses by Beautiful Blooms; bridesmaids switched to dresses by Jenny Yoo Collection. Styled Creative helped the couple pull off the full day, including a pretty reception in tones of taupe and red, complete with a black and white cake from Whipped Bakeshop. These images from Marie Labbancz Photography are just amazing!
Elizabeth and Ross’ wedding in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is nothing short of stunning! From her gorgeous lace-edge veil—the perfect accessory to her Anne Barge gown—to her bouquet of ivory roses and her soft makeup by Beke Beau, Elizabeth was a breathtaking bride! But the other breathtaking thing about this wedding? The locations! Elizabeth and Ross’ ceremony was held in a jaw-droppingly pretty church, while they hosted their reception inside the The Union League of Philadelphia‘s dramatic ballroom. We love the tall, white centerpieces by Nancy Saam Flowers! A big thanks to Marie Labbancz Photography for sharing this wedding!

There are so many fresh details to love from Lori and Matt’s Philadelphia wedding, held at Knowlton Mansion. The yellow and white bouquets, including some tied with striped ribbon, are a fun pop against navy bridesmaids dresses by Alfred Sung. A nod to vintage decor with lace elements and a fishnet veil paired with Lori’s private label gown from Katherine’s Bridal Boutique gives a bit of a retro vibe to the rustic location. These two put their own spin on everything, from the Digby & Rose stationery to the playful bride-and-groom giraffes atop the cake from Conroy Catering. We adore this entire affair captured by Maria Mack Photography!
Timeless weddings are one of our favorites because classic choices never go out of style. That’s exactly why we love these photos from Marie Labbancz Photography: Elisabeth and Michael’s ceremony at Saint Thomas of Villanova Parish—in Villanova, Pennsylvania, where the couple met in college—and their reception at Aronimink Golf Club were stunning and sophisticated, and we’ll still feel that way in 20 years. Elisabeth sought out a breathtaking Reem Acra gown with beaded sleeves that had captivated her years before, and she paired it with a traditional rose bouquet, adding deep purple calla lilies for an unexpected touch. Black bridesmaids dresses from White by Vera Wang rounded out the classic palette. Along with the wedding party bouquets, Beautiful Blooms created gorgeous arrangements for the reception tables that included more red roses, cherry blossoms, and plenty of silver bowls and mint julep cups. Clay’s Creative Corner Bakery took a cue from the floral arrangements, decorating a round tiered cake with deep berry-colored roses and metallic details. This whole affair is fabulous and perfect from beginning to end!
