I am absolutely in love with today’s Inspired Creations Contest entry! The team of Viridian Design Studio, Thompson Poole Photography, Cartewheels Caterers, and PAPERooT created a brunch wedding reception concept, and both the food and tablescape are positively exquisite.
A small, at-home brunch wedding is the perfect way to be conservative with resources but design a celebration that is truly reflective of your personal style! Even when budget is limited, you can have a sophisticated and well designed event, and the materials used, the food served, and the decor incorporated can be of the highest quality. Incredibly, this concept was put together with a total spend of only $490.
Bare wood tables were accented with simple stoneware and glassware, vintage Bakelite flatware and linen napkins. A variety of white porcelain vessels and vintage china blanks filled the middle of the tables. Viridian Design Studio created gorgeous centerpieces in shades of pale blue, yellow, green, and peach – perfect for the otherwise spare design.
Roosters made their appearance throughout, beginning with the paper goods and ending with a cast iron rooster at each place setting.
Cartewheels Caterers created a simple and sophisticated brunch buffet of stone fruit panzanella, baked quail eggs in ham cups, ginger scones with matcha green tea butter, roasted tomatoes with thyme, lychee bellinis and hibisicus tea.
The detail of stitching was echoed throughout the paper goods in this concept – I love it! Sky blue ziz-zag stitched secured textured white paper to kraft cardstock for the menu signs.
Simple postcard save the dates showcased our friend the rooster, as did the recipe cards and recipe tea towels.
The invitations featured three layers of fabulous textured paper with a delicate robin’s egg blue stitching detail. Each invitation included a blank recipe card with instructions to fill out the recipe card with a favorite family recipe and memory and return it with the reply card. The cards can be compiled into a collection of recipes from their combined families and placed in a gorgeous modern leather recipe card box to be given as gifts to each family attending, a perfect blending of family tradition and modern design!
The team’s motto for this concept was “There is elegance in simplicity; art in restraint.” and this was present in every small detail.
