In Tennessee, you can usually count on a storm blowing in and moving out within a 30 minute time period. Unfortunately, this was not the case for April 24th, just a week before the historic flooding in Nashville. All day long, Jessica and Corey endured torrential downpours, thunder, lightning, and the occasional tornado siren. Not exactly the ideal day for a wedding ceremony in the gardens of Carnton Plantation!
Fortunately for Jessica and Corey, their wedding coordinator, Meredith at Bridal Blueprints was able to transform the reception tent into the ceremony tent (after the backup ceremony tent was unable to be installed due to the weather), and their fabulous photographer Leslee Mitchell captured gorgeous images in spite of (and in some cases because of!) the rain.
The sun came out for a brief time during the cocktail hour, so guests were able to enjoy the covered porches of the Fleming Center at Carnton Plantation before heading in for a reception with a classic Southern buffet of pulled pork, cole slaw, and potato salad, and a finishing taste of decadent strawberry cake.
Corey’s grandmother is too cute!
