Asking my Bridesmaids

Less than two weeks after getting engaged, I was ready to ask my bridesmaids! Like I said in my first post, I had been planning this wedding in my head for a while, so I had a good idea of what I wanted to do and who I was going to ask. I wanted to make a bit of a bigger deal out of asking my girls than just flat out asking them.

What I wanted to do was frame a picture of me and my bridesmaid and wrap it up as a cute gift. I already knew that I wanted to use a light turquoise for the wedding in our colors, so I  bought that color tissue paper. Then, I designed a card for each girl asking if they will be my bridesmaid. Fortunately, everyone said yes!

My favorite person to ask and the one that made me most nervous was when I asked my SIL Brooke to be my matron of honor. I don’t know why I was so nervous, I knew she’d say yes, but I felt like I was proposing to her or something! I felt like I knew half of how Mike felt when he proposed to me! When I gave the gift to Brooke, she knew what was going on, but when she opened the card and saw that I wanted her to be my matron of honor, she couldn’t believe it (not sure why, she is one of my best friends!). She was so excited, she started crying…so I started crying. It was so sweet!

I also asked my niece (Brooke’s daughter) to be my junior bridesmaid. She really reminds me of myself when I was nine! Of course she said yes and was so excited to have a picture of us that matches her room. Now, we sit and watch the wedding channel together while she sketches out how she wants her dress, cake, bridesmaid dresses and shoes to look at her wedding. I used to do the same thing, I love it! Leila tells me her duty as a bridesmaid is to make the bride happy. What a sweetie!

How are you asking your lovely ladies to be a part of your wedding?
