Real Weddings: Claire + Patrick

Claire and Patrick’s Atlanta wedding was a true labor of love!  Full of DIY elements and rustic charm, their reception’s “Bees and Trees” theme is perfect for The Trolley Barn and, along with Addie and Suzanne at An Open Sketchbook, pulled the entire wedding together in just 4 1/2 months!

All of these gorgeous images are by the wonderful Sara D. Harper.

Claire and Patrick thought it would be fun to add in an urban vibe by taking Atlanta’s MARTA from their ceremony to the reception – I love the resulting photos that Sara captured!

The Trolley Barn was completely transformed into the “Bees and Trees” theme of the day.  All of the tree stumps were taken from a local tree removal company, and Claire and Patrick collected mason jars, vintage glassware, aluminum cans, and vases for months to create the centerpieces and decor!

Patrick is an Industrial Designer and created the “Family Tree” from wood left over from a friends home restoration.

Addie and Suzanne created all of the paper garlands, and the place cards and signage with the bee theme.

Claire says:

In all sincerity, we were completely humbled to see all of our friends and family come together and support us in the celebration of our marriage. Every one of our vendors (ceremony musicians, event stylist and coordinator, band, caterer) are dear friends of ours and it was such an honor so see everyone put so much hard work into making our day just the way we had envisioned it. One of our family friends approached me and said, “I’ve never seen a bride eating BBQ and Collard Greens in a white dress…” and to this day this makes me smile. It reminds me that we succeeded in what we wanted to create: a comfortable, simple, fancy-free wedding where everyone could be at home in the city we love.
