Cozy Holiday Decor

Is everyone ready for the holiday?  I know I am!  I’m going to leave you for the weekend by sharing some holiday inspiration from the ever-talented Holly Chapple.  First up, an elegant red and gold centerpiece perfect for a holiday wedding or party, and a bit later, holiday decor in Holly’s own home.

If you’re searching for seasonal inspiration for your Thanksgiving tablescape, look no further—Holly Heider Chapple has designed the most gorgeous, organic spread and given you the steps to recreate it at home! “My intent when I created this design was to come up with a concept that a beginner could do,” as well as use flowers that are readily available at grocery stores, Holly says. Christina and Brent’s wedding is the perfect example of how a little rain could never truly spoil the beauty and love of a wedding. They started their celebration outside at Rust Manor in Leesburg, Virginia, and just as their officiant said “you may kiss the bride” tiny sprinkles started falling from the sky! Luckily, their reception was held inside and guests celebrated as the rain poured down outside. There was no shortage of sunshine inside though thanks to the gorgeous, sunny florals by Holly Chapple Flowers! Smiles and spirits were certainly not dampened at this beautiful wedding as shown by these cheery photos by Genevieve Leiper Photography!

Inspired by the image of a bright pink and purple sunset, Kristen and Andrew’s Loudoun County, Virginia wedding is pure rustic elegance.  Held at the beautiful Whitehall Manor, Kristen and Andrew planned an outdoor ceremony with the Blue Ridge mountains as a backdrop.  Hurricane Irene had other plans!  Luckily, despite the wrath of mother nature, nearly all of the guests made it to the celebrations and the rain certainly did not put a damper on their spirits.  The wonderful Holly Chapple created gorgeous, natural arrangements filled with amnesia roses, seeded eucalyptus, astrantia, lavender, dahlias in deep winey purples, and navy berry.  I adore the fresh purple and green color palette and the beautiful images from Rob Holley!

Inspired by a peacock feather, these jewel-toned tabletops designed by Beth of SQN Events are the perfect combination of elegant and modern.  Whether you’re planning a wedding or a party, jewel tones set the stage for a fabulous urban holiday soiree, and the gorgeous purple, red, and green palette is brought to life by the modern blooms from Dilly Lily.  Ribbon-wrapped menus and favor boxes with touches of swirling calligraphy add an elegant touch to the wedding tabletop while “naughty” and “nice” gift boxes add cheeky punch to the holiday tablescape.  The scrumptious sweets table and 4-tier truffle cake from Truffle Truffle is a fun and unique alternative to a traditional cake.  I’m in love with all of the colorful images from Maypole Studios!

Holly Chapple always blows me away with her amazing eye for detail and gorgeous florals, and I adore everything about this beautiful table design she shared from a recent corporate event.  Holly paired lush white hydrangea, spray roses, and ranunculus with cabbage, dried wheat, lotus pods, silver brunia, and dusty miller, creating the perfect mix of elegance and natural elements.  Mercury glass, burlap-wrapped vases, and wooden boxes perfectly contradicted the elegant linens and crystals.  I love this look and think it’s perfect inspiration for an outdoorsy-meets-elegant reception!  Thanks also goes to Anne Robert Photography for capturing all of the lovely images.

Heather and Jonathan’s Leesburg, Virginia wedding is overflowing with lovely details inspired by their love of the outdoors.  The color palette of cream, green, sky blue and brown echoes the beautiful setting of Raspberry Plain, and the couple infused many personal elements into the interfaith celebration, including a chuppah decorated with a crocheted cover created by Jonathan’s mother and handmade by Heather’s father from trees found on their lakeside cabin, smooth river stones as escort cards, and and ribbons streaming from the trees.  Vicki from My Simple Details made sure the day went off without a hitch, the gorgeous florals were created by Holly Heidler Chapple, and all of the lovely images are courtesy of Three Lights Photography.

Magic happens when Holly Chapple is involved, and when the entire Chapel Designers Workshop comes together, you know it will be pure perfection! The Chapel Designers team created this whimsical garden wedding inspiration shoot that shows off the best of spring! Seemingly endless arrays of delicate blooms combine with elegant touches such as chandeliers, garden gates, and flowing linens to create a setting that is nothing short of wonderland. Genevieve Leiper captured all of the gorgeous images, enjoy each and every detail!

Dramatic jewel tones meet rustic barn setting in this inspiration shoot from One Summer Day, set at Silverbrook Farm in Virginia’s Horse Country. It’s simply gorgeous! The fall feel of the shoot is thanks to moody portraits, set amidst vintage decor from Stylish Patina Vintage Rentals. Coordinated by Ashlee Virginia Events, details like brass candlesticks and gold china sit among deep red and purple florals by Petals & Hedges. We cannot take our eyes off the black and gold stationery and that amazing and unusual cake from Cakebee! And how gorgeous is the gown from Soliloquy Bridal Couture? Have you ever seen anything so gorgeous? Inspired by rich color and peach fruit, Janice of Bellwether Events teamed with Holly Chapple Flowers and A Daily Something to create this garden shoot loosely based on James and the Giant Peach. We’re dying over these photos from Cyn Kain Photography, who captured a fabulous gown from Chaviano Couture and a cheeky groom in a peach gingham bow tie from Southern Beaus, all set in the pastoral backdrop of Oatlands plantation in Leesburg, Virginia. It’s almost too much goodness to handle at once! The whimsical peach tulle headpiece is ahhh-mazing paired with a bright turquoise bridesmaid’s dress from the Jenny Yoo Collection. We love all the vintage decor—especially the flower cart filled with desserts and cake from Fancy Cakes by Leslie. And check out those fun peach and blue garters from The Garter Girl by Julianne Smith. Love, love, love!

Happy Friday everyone! Today’s Friday Flowers are from a sunny shoot styled by one of our favorites, Holly Chapple!  Anne Robert did an amazing job photographing vintage details against the vibrant flowers plucked from Holly’s garden. The yellow tablecloth—a gorgeous backdrop for the bold blooms—is actually a bedspread Holly picked up at a tag sale a couple years ago. Cordial glasses from Belgium, white enamel vases and plates, and a sprinkling of sterling silver lend a collected-over-the-years feel to this charming backyard party setting, and we are completely in love!

Aaron proposed to Katie 3 years after he sat next to her on the metro in Washington, D.C. They decided that since he chose a vineyard to propose in that they’d continue the theme to their wedding and chose Hillsborough Vineyards for their big day. Since they were getting married in April, a time where there wouldn’t be much in bloom at the venue, Katie brought in the amazing Holly Heider-Chapple to create bold blue and pink arrangements to liven and warm up the day. The beautiful details of Katie and Aaron’s sweet and elegant wedding were captured by Kristen Gardner and with all of the colorful blooms, it’s easy to see why this is one of Holly’s most favorite weddings of the year!

Remember when we wrote that we were gaga for chevron?   Well if that didn’t convince you that chevron is the hottest pattern going, this lovely inspiration shoot from Jamie Sears of Simply Chic Events will!  Jamie set out to create a beautiful styled shoot that featured both an engagement picnic and a tabletop, showing how you can take a simple motif and tie together your entire series of wedding events.  Blue chevron makes a repeat appearance here, from the napkins, to the stationery and signage, to the gorgeous table’s runner.  Sit back and enjoy the beautiful images from Holland Photo Arts and the sweet southern setting of Charlottesville’s Clifton Inn!

Catherine and Nate had a laid back wedding at Catherine’s family’s vineyard, Tarara Winery. The girls got ready in a historic cabin hidden in the woods, a perfect, natural backdrop for Katelyn James to take photos. Can you believe her dress is handmade? The wildflower bouquets by Holly Chapple were wrapped in twine and hemp, complementing their relaxed feel. With rustic touches like these, a ceremony by the lake, and yummy pies, Catherine and Nate had a wedding that was beautiful and completely personal!

Classic, timeless, and delicate, this gorgeous styled shoot from Holly Heider Chapple, Events in the City, Laura Ashbrook Photography, and an amazing array of Washington DC-area wedding vendors was inspired by the elegant style of the early 1900s and the story of the maiden voyage of the Titanic. The deep brown, burgundy, and gold color palette, classic calligraphy, and crystal accessories echo the opulence of the era while the mercury glass, taper candles, and lace table runner add modern day beauty. I am swooning over the to-die-for gowns and headpieces and the luxurious feeling of the shoot, a perfect combination of today’s vintage trends and timeless elegance.

I hope you are loving sherbet week as much as we are!  Sherbet is such a cheerful and fun color, and I just adore how this styled brunch shoot from Ashley of CA Event Planning and Korie Lynn Photography brings it to life!  This Berry Tea Time Brunch uses just the right combination of dark and light pinks, dainty lace linen, fresh berries, and scrumptious desserts to create a tabletop and drink station full of beautiful inspiration for morning weddings.   Set in the quaint courtyard of the James Monroe Museum in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ashley incorporated her grandmother’s floral china, a gorgeous ruffled cake from Fat Girl Cakes, and vibrant floral from Jane Guerin, and I just love the playful and sweet end result.  Thanks ladies for sharing!

I hope you all are ready for some beautiful rustic country wedding inspiration! This styled shoot takes place at the brand new Virginia venue of Lamontagne at Bluemont. It’s a historic home built in the 1800’s that overlooks the Blue Ridge mountains that was originally a Bed and Breakfast. So gorgeous! See if you can find the perfectly aged brick floor in two of the images below.

When Holly from Holly Chapple Flowers sent over a recent wedding inspiration shoot, I knew it would be awesome. She’s an EAD featured vendor and her entry for the Inspired Creations Contest made the top 10. What I didn’t expect was to want to be in the shoot! Everything is perfectly beautiful, from the dress to the flowers. It’s a mix of vintage and rustic, casual and polished. And the food! The heart shaped biscuits! The strawberry cake! The berries! The melon! Pies! What’s not to love?!

Melissa and Rick’s colorful Leesburg, VA wedding is full of gorgeous floral creations from one of my favorite ladies, Holly of Holly Heider Chapple Flowers.  The wedding took place at Leesburg’s historic Thomas Birkby House and Holly and Melissa worked together to fill the day with colorful blooms that scream personality!
