Real Weddings: Rebecca + Paul

Let’s all take a moment (or two) out of our day to check out this bliss-inducing Janita Mestre wedding. It’s delightfully in the desert, so of course you’re going to spot a few cacti at Galway Downs, but you’re going to see such a dreamy color palette too. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, Stephanie and Alex wanted to evoke love all throughout, so they picked pink as their go-to hue. Big and bright blush and ivory florals by Events by Floral Sensations complemented the eye-catching David’s Bridal mauve bridesmaids’ dresses, and we loved this idea, too. Instead of continuing the soft tones everywhere, shake up the colors like Stephanie and Alex and throw a deep hue in the same color family somewhere that will be seen. Adding it to the bridesmaids’ dresses was a clever touch without overwhelming the couple’s desire to have an airy feel to their wedding day.

It doesn’t get more beautiful than an enchanting garden setting, classic wedding details, and gorgeous photography, and Amanda and John’s wedding has each in spades! The elegant Annesdale Mansion and its lush grounds was the backdrop for their Memphis garden soiree. The stately mansion provided inspiration for the decor by Angela Mazanti Designs, which featured lush greenery and pretty pastel hydrangea. Amanda is positively regal in a lace Anne Barge gown and Untamed Petals veil, highlighted by loose chic waves by Janice Allen. We adore each beautiful image from Ashley Upchurch Photography!

There’s nothing better than a good outdoor Southern wedding! Lauren and Jeff held theirs at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the perfect backdrop for an effortlessly elegant ceremony. And even though the surroundings were stunning alone, Robert Long Flora Design stepped in to create lush bouquets in whites and blues that complemented the garden plantings. Lauren’s gorgeous Priscilla of Boston dress is the stuff our dreams are made of—check out the lace scallop detailing! Navy bridesmaids dresses from Ann Taylor grounded all of the lighter colors—we adore the flattering ruching at the top.  Melissa Schollaert Photography captured every last detail of this classic affair, and we’re drooling over all of the pictures—especially the one with the Frosted Pumpkin Gourmet, Inc., cake wrapped in Tiffany blue satin ribbon!

We can’t imagine a fairytale any lovelier than this wedding, set on the Gulf Coast at the Watercolor Inn & Resort. Elizabeth and Michael’s plan for a dream wedding came to life with ethereal tented reception lounges, complete with slipcovered seating and pale, elegant flowers clustered in mercury glass containers, for the “garden by the sea” feel the bride envisioned. Guests wore their sunglasses at night—wedding favors from Blue Soda Promo—as they partied to music by Total Package. We’re so glad Paul Johnson Photography was there to take such gorgeous pictures, because words can’t do this event justice! From their first kiss as husband and wife—even though their pastor forgot to pronounce them!—to Elizabeth’s stunning Monique Lhuillier gown, this wedding is absolute perfection!

Jessica and Todd did not leave out a single detail for their Florida wedding. Simple yet truly elegant (hello Mr. Louboutin and Ms. Vera!), both their ceremony and reception were at The Field Club in Sarasota. Bridesmaids wore long navy chiffon gowns and carried pretty white bouquets while the guys dressed in grey suits with hints of navy. The reception was clean and classy with navy linens and pretty white florals by Perfect Settings. The weather was a bit threatening, but luckily, the only two downpours occurred just before and after the ceremony, sparing everyone from getting drenched and allowing Liga Photography to get some fantastic photos in the rich post-rain sunset. We hope you love this beautiful and classic wedding as much as we do!

Hillary and Michael’s Florida wedding is an absolute breath of fresh air. Boca Bay Pass Club and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church provided unbelievable backdrops for their stunning pink and ivory wedding. Romantic and ruffled peonies were the focus of beautiful bouquets by Designs By Jody and I’m still swooning over their beautiful tented wedding reception right on the beach. There are so many gorgeous photos by Melissa Schollaert Photography from Hillary and Michael’s big day that it was extremely difficult to narrow it down to just a few, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy these just as much as I did!

I simply love each and every little thing about this wedding, so I’ve been dying to show it to you!  Maggie and Jeremiah were married in an intimate little wedding at the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail.  I immediately fell in love with the lush and colorful flowers from the always-fantastic Alicia of Bella Fiori and their vibrant hues of peach, pink, green, and blue. Vail, with its glorious mountains and village full of character, was the perfect backdrop for all of the charming details.  Maggie is a resplendent bride, and I especially adore her vintage cathedral length veil, her mother’s from her own wedding.  The talented and sweet Jamee Photography captured all of the gorgeous images, and since I know you love this one just as much as I do, you can view even more of this beautiful wedding in the gallery!

I imagine that I went overboard when choosing the images for this wedding.  But you see, there are just too many beautiful images not to share them all, and I’ve quite literally fallen in love with the magic of Scotland after seeing them.  So, you’ll just have to forgive me… 

Yes, I’m biased, but I love New Years Eve weddings!  There is something so special to me about ringing in the new year with your friends and family – marking the beginning of a new passing of time.  And in this case, the beginning of a life together!

It’s Taite and Alex’s big day, y’all! Gather around and saddle up for an elegant Western wedding celebration that’ll knock your boots off! Set against the stunning Arizona landscape, this wedding is sure to bring the heat, and I’m not just talking about the weather. From the rustic-chic decor to the mouth-watering Southwestern cuisine, Jason and the rest of the crew are working hard to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. So put on your best cowboy boots, grab a drink, and get ready to giddy up and get down with Taite and Alex at their Western wonderland wedding. Yeehaw!

Chicago History Museum has been Nora’s dream wedding venue ever since she learned to ride her bike there as a kid, so it was an obvious choice when her college sweetheart, Daniel, popped the question! With its iconic checkered floor, stone façade, ivory crown molding, and crystal chandeliers, it was important to the couple that they highlight the venue’s elegance. Working with their planner Clover Events, they chose a fresh white color palette for the florals by Revel Décor, adding just a hint of blue in the ceremony arrangements as well as the bridesmaids’ dresses. Countless meaningful details filled the day, making it a special event for the bride and groom as well as all their guests and Ashley Bosnick Photography was there to capture this stunning event!

After Jessica and Zach got engaged, they sweetly joined Jessica’s parents on a trip to DC to celebrate their wedding anniversary. One of their excursions there was to take a walk on the grounds where her parents held their wedding ceremony, the National Cathedral. Naturally, they were so smitten with the gardens and the buildings that once they found out the Gothic-style cathedral was now hosting wedding receptions in addition to ceremonies, the New Yorkers jumped on the chance to get married there. Jessica wanted an “elegant and ethereal” day so with the help of Caroline Dutton Events and Kate & Lilly Floral Design, they drew inspiration from the Bishop’s Garden on the grounds. With Audra Wrisley capturing all the pretty pale pink roses, peonies, greenery, and everything in between, the duo said their I do’s and partied the night away in one of the most amazing venues we’ve seen.

Dana and Steven were married at the historic Tranquility Farm in Purceville, Virginia. The beautiful vineyards and rolling hills were the perfect backdrop for their day. Stunning florals and greenery by Colleen Rogin West complimented the flora and fauna of the estate perfectly! Dana was stunning in her Maggie Sottero lace gown, while her bridesmaids donned pale blue chiffon bridesmaids gowns. We simply adore all of the sophisticated rustic details and the beautiful imagery from Nikki Santerre Photography!

Megan wanted a destination wedding and Stephen, a local Chicago soiree, so they compromised by choosing Kohler, Wisconsin’s stunning Whistling Straits for their June nuptials. Any Midwesterner knows that the weather in June in Wisconsin can be a toss-up, and though the day started out gloomy and misting, right in time for the ceremony the skies cleared and the sun appeared! When thinking of their wedding style, Megan and Stephen knew that they wanted simple elegance, and their choices reflected that vision. Wooden tables and farmhouse chairs graced the stone reception room, with glimmering candles and swaths of greenery. The result was a chic and sophisticated wedding with timeless images from Jenna Marie Photography that we know they’ll forever treasure!

The word ‘beautiful’ barely does justice for this Scottish Rite Cathedral Wedding, photographed by Danielle Harris Photography! Patia and George envisioned a quintessentially classic wedding in the heart of Indianapolis. The Scottish Rite Cathedral, with its richly appointed ballroom, was decked out from head to toe with lush greenery and overflowing blooms in vases that the couple collected in the year leading up to their wedding. The beautiful patina of the blue and white pottery paired with the spectacular space makes for a stunning affair that we know you’re going to adore!

Elegant, romantic, and colorful perfectly describes Tara and Georg’s wedding at Sarasota’s sophisticated Field Club. The couple lived in Italy for a time, and added some subtle Tuscan vibes to their Florida soiree. Working with Nicole of NK Productions (which Tara describes as “the best decision we ever made”), Tara and Georg created a romantic setting with stunning florals by Victoria Blooms that featured large coral peonies, olive leaf, and blush garden roses. Our favorite detail? The entrance fountain overflowing with lush florals! Petite bottles of olive oil served as place cards and favors, atop french blue linens and set next to table numbers hand-drawn by Tara’s maid of honor, labeled as their favorite Italian cities. Every small detail is flawless and beautifully captured by Tiffani Jones!

California-based Kate and Edward decided to tie the knot in Charleston, South Carolina, and fell in love with the classic and historic aesthetic of the Bennett House. Two hours before their ceremony, a ferocious summer storm came through, drenching their ceremony garden. Undeterred, The Petal Report and Tiger Lily moved the ceremony indoors to the base of the dramatic staircase. The rain cleared just as the ceremony ended, just in time for the couple and their guests to dance the night away to Palmetto Soul. These two are hopelessly in love, and it shows through in every beautiful moment captured by Rachel Red Photography!

With soft neutral hues and a spectacular beachside setting, Margaret Kyle and Kyle’s Charleston destination wedding is pure coastal elegance. The couple knew they wanted a destination wedding, and Margaret Kyle’s aunt and uncle were married at the Seabrook Island Club, and those fond memories translated into the perfect place to get married! Their vision of an understated but elegant look was brought to life by Lindsay Merhege of Fox Events. Tiger Lily Flowers designed florals that celebrated the neutral palette, with statement accents of greenery and a mixture of snowy white blooms. From the incredible palm tree backdrop to the beautiful cake by Delicious Desserts, every moment is beautifully captured by Jennings King Photography!

Brynn and Justin chose the spectacular views of downtown Orlando’s Dr Phillips Center to play host to their chic and classic Florida wedding! Their vision of an open, airy wedding was brought to life in the majestic floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city! Justin (whom according to Brynn is the fashionista in the relationship!) donned his Navy uniform for the ceremony, then changed into a sleek royal blue suit for the reception. A wedding party in pink Sorella Vita dresses accented the blue perfectly. Tickled Pink Brides worked with the couple to make sure their wedding day ran flawlessly, and Peddles created tall but simple centerpieces to fill up the room with its high ceilings. These two are so in love and every moment (including the adorable family time with their pups Lyric and Hudson) was beautifully captured by Kristen Weaver Photography!
