This is the last week of the Inspired Creations Contest!  I hope you have enjoyed the diverse and creative submissions, I know I have!  This adorable concept comes to us from the ladies at In The Now Weddings + Events, Mathieu Photography, Lunch Pail Pictures, and Creative Media Print and I could not be more in love with it!  The concept began with the poem “Brown Penny” by William Butler Yeats.  In this poem the speaker contemplates whether or not he is old enough to love, and then decides “one cannot begin it too soon”.  This inspired the idea of “young love” and “old love”, and the team created both an adult tablescape and a children’s table with the same red, white, navy, and copper color palette and fabulous “young and old” decor.  This is truly a fresh take on Americana, with an understated dose of glitter and glam thrown in!

The adult table features a clean and simple nude linen with fluffy centerpieces of hydrangea and roses.  Vases were wrapped in wood paper and copper embossing sheets to tie in the color palette.  Copper wire bent into guests’ names served as unique and fun place cards.

The precious children’s table mimicked the adult table, with kid-size chivari chairs and a fun shimmer linen in bold red.  Alphabet cookies dusted with non-toxic copper luster dust put a kid-friendly spin on the copper wired names from the adult table.  One side of the table was covered in butcher paper where the little ones could draw with crayons.

The guest book is a play on the “Brown Penny” theme – a penny for your thoughts!  Guests pick a year from dates special to the couple (his birth year, her birth year, the years they have been together), white a memory from that year on the card, drop a penny in the envelope from that year and place it in the vase.  Kristin from In The Now brilliantly used lines from the poem that corresponded with that item.  For example, “Go and love, go and love” was added under the year 2011, and then “I am old enough” for the year 2009 when the couple may have met.
