Real Weddings: Shandelle + Britton

Cristi and Chris infused themselves into every detail of their big day. From their chic style to the hand-stamped sugar spoon favors and Cristi’s personalized wedding gown, the whole day was a true reflection of this couple’s personalities and their love for each other. Their ceremony venue, the popular Vancouver wine bar Brix, had a stunning brick-walled courtyard with a glass roof and climbing ivy. It was the ultimate urban-chic backdrop, and we’re just loving the fabulous images captured by Jamie Delaine!

Heather from Eclectic Images shared a few images from a recent wedding of one of our readers! Rachel and Patrick married at Casa Blanca in Round Rock a few weeks ago and the wedding was lovely! Remember these centerpieces from earlier in the week? All DIY by Rachel.

Sarah and Scott originally had a large celebration planned, but like many other brides, COVID changed that. In a cautious manner they decided to move forward with their wedding with just their 12 closest family and friends. Despite the small guest count, the design aspect was large. Their outdoor ceremony took place surrounded by banyan trees under the most stunning Chuppah. Reception was followed with the most divine tent with flowing florals and hints of citrus.

Sarah & Benjamin wanted guests to feel like they were entering a magical world when they arrived at their wedding and the day was full of awe-inspiring details which made that vision a reality. From getting married at the castle-like Wonderland Cluj Resort, to the horse-drawn carriage fit for royalty, to the show-stopping, jaw-droppingly lush, floor-to-ceiling florals by Elena Bodea – Las Floristas that filled both the ceremony and reception, guests were transported into a fairy tale for the day. Add to that that these two look like they walked out of a magazine themselves, and this may be one of the most dreamy weddings ever! Gina and Joe’s story begins like so many others in this generation: via a dating app and an awkward first date. Despite the fact Joe was not a Francophile and “avoided all of the French words” at the French restaurant they ate at, the pair met up again and the rest was history. Before they knew it, they were planning a wedding in Temecula’s wine country with Ashley Bee Photography documenting their day. Purple was common favorite color between the two of them, yet they wanted to break up the hues with various shades. Mauve, gold, and the deep brown wood interior at Wiens Family Cellar created a classic and rustic feel. Gina and Joe are fond of the outdoors, yet due to the weather and the season, they opted to stay warm and cozy inside. Despite this, they wanted to extract those aspects of the outdoors they love and add them into their indoor venue. Long, wooden tables mostly exposed with Sweet Flowers’ wildflower-esque creations gave this nature-loving couple exactly the motif they wanted, and it’s a treat for us all too!

Sugar, spice, and everything really nice sums up Jamie and Casey’s South Carolina shindig. The Charlotte couple wanted something more quintessentially southern, so they traveled a bit further south into Charleston and fell in love with The Governor Thomas Bennett House. They were spellbound by its classic look; white exterior with black shutters, and its all-in-one manicured garden perfect for the ceremony and reception. This accommodating setup can go with any style or color palette, but we are totally fawning over the soft pastel wedding aesthetic that Ashley Wenz with Boutique Planning made come to life. Reception tables were kept light and airy with dove gray and blush linens from Snyder Rentals. To add some oomph, weathered farmhouse tables sans linens were the ideal complement to add some texture to the space. When you fall in love with your wedding venue, you just know, no matter what your plans originally were. Amanda and Vlad planned for a Colorado wedding, but they never knew what hit them as they stepped foot onto Bella Collina’s stunning grounds in Florida. Reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside, it was love at first sight for the duo and it just jived so well with their romantic wedding vision that we get to fawn over thanks to Kristen Weaver Photography‘s epic photos. The white florals and greenery by Lee James Floral looked resplendent against the venue’s landscape, but no matter how glorious the blooms looked, it just couldn’t compare to Amanda and Vlad looking like a million bucks. They stole the show, for sure!

Hang and Hao’s romantic wedding at Livermore, CA’s Murrieta’s Well has all of our favorite things: a colorful palette, personal touches, stunning fashion, and incredible images! Inspired by the vineyards surrounding the winery, the couple wanted an organic feel for their event, and Sachi from Delphinium Floral Design outdid herself creating lush arrangements of peonies, garden roses, and blushing bride protea. Crisp white calligraphy, hand-lettered by Hang, and vintage stamps dressed Minted agate invitations, and the adorable animal place card holders were spray-painted by the couple, adding a special charm to the table setting. Silk ties hand-dyed with organic elements such as tea and beet adorned the favors. We are completely spellbound by every image by Kate Anfinson!

Good morning lovelies and happy 2015! We are so excited to usher in a new year full of beautiful soirees, and couldn’t think of a better way to kick off a new year than Nga and Tinh’s lovely wedding at Los Altos History Museum. Classic garden romance was the theme of the day. The couple partnered with Oliveta Design to design a lush, sophisticated reception with bouquets and centerpieces full of greenery and roses in a rainbow of pastels from Studio Mondine. Nga is a vision in a relaxed Jenny Packham gown and Gucci heels, perfectly paired with a ribbon-tied bouquet, and her three maids wore hand-picked frocks in the palest of blush from BHLDN and J.Crew. We simply adore each and every detail—right down to the floral garland on the getaway car from Elegant Journey—in these stunning images from Clary Pfeiffer!

Courtney and Shawn’s wedding at The Little Nell is pure Colorado magic. Though it snowed the next day, their September wedding could not have fallen on a more gorgeous, sunny day. The couple chose bright fall colors to pop against the lush green mountains and worked with the wonderful Lauryl Lane and Virginia of Bluebird Productions to create a beautiful, warm setting amongst the pines and in the dramatic ballroom. Centerpieces of aspen trees and an assortment of fall blooms (loving those orange tulips!) graced the tables and brought the fall foliage indoors. We adore the laid-back Colorado elegance in the stunning images from James Christianson!

We can’t think of a more perfect rustic-meets-elegant venue than Sundance Resort in Utah—and Liz and Nick’s wedding at the mountain property is a little bit of both! With help from Brittany Farley of Something Blue Weddings & Events, the couple pulled off a flawless fete that incorporated organic, earthy elements and simple cream florals from Artisan Bloom, along with twinkling lights that glimmered in the snowy night. The salvaged wood beam mantel filled with hydrangeas, bark, and cream candles is our fave! Navy Nicole Miller bridesmaids dresses are lovely, while bright yellow Hunter boots add a punch of whimsy and color to the monochromatic palette. Liz’s Wtoo gown is gorgeous, and we’re absolutely in love with her brown fur shrug—elegant and practical in the snowy mountains! The whitewashed ballroom of the Rosewood Hotel Georgia was the gorgeous backdrop for Kathy and Joseph’s Vancouver wedding! Taking a cue from the setting, the couple chose the classic color palette of pink, gold, and white, dressing the tables with elegant gold chargers, textured linens, decor from Upright Decor Rentals & Event Design, and gorgeous florals by The Flower Factory. Kathy is a vision in her princess gown by Maggie Sottero, and her maids are pretty in pink in one-shoulder Alfred Angelo gowns. From the story told in these images from Blue Rose Photography, Ariel and Collin couldn’t have chosen a more perfect, light-drenched place for their wedding than Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, Washington! The mountains in the backdrop are majestic and gorgeous partnered with the mossy orange and gold fall florals from Patti Bosket Au Naturel, especially the wreaths hanging on freestanding doors that “open” up to the ceremony. The rust-orange color repeats on stationery from Carlson Craft. Navy bridesmaids dresses from H&M are a great alternative to black and look fabulous paired with the bold flowers. Madeline and Andrew’s Salt Lake City wedding is is positively overflowing with personality and whimsy!  From the handmade tissue paper poms and string spheres hanging from the ceiling of Noah’s, to the bridesmaids dresses that Madeline lovingly chose for each of her ladies, to the Mad Libs, each little detail is perfectly suited to the couple and their loved ones.  We are hopelessly in love with the billowy, luscious florals in shades of peach and sage with lemons, succulents, and kumquats created by Lemon Blossom Designs, and of course all of the images captured by the fabulous Rebekah Westover!

There’s nothing more lovely than New England in the fall.  Vermont’s Inn at Mountain View Farm was the gorgeous setting for Kristen and Ben’s October wedding, which is chock full of handmade love!  These two designed their dream wedding on their own, but they couldn’t have put it together without the help of their family and friends.  Kristen’s father collected the mason jars, milk glass, and medicine bottles for the centerpieces, and along with Ben, transformed the barn by stringing 1200 feet of twinkle lights! A close family friend sewed the table runners, and Kristen and Ben were involved in each and every detail of the planning process, including working with Danika of Blomma Flicka Flowers to choose the wheat and wildflower decor.  A beautiful wedding full of love, laughter, and joy – and fabulous images from Deborah Zoe Photo!

Although they moved around quite a bit, Mary and Scott have strong Southern roots so it was no surprise that they’d want to incorporate lots of Southern elements into their big day. It was actually Mary’s dream to be married in a cotton field but when she realized the challenge of turning a cotton field into a suitable venue, she decided instead to just bring the cotton field to their wedding. Some family friends let her raid their cotton field and then her mom made the boutonnieres and delivered loads more cotton to their florist so that it could be incorporated into the rest of their arrangements. From the Cheerwine to the Moonpies to the sparkler-lit sportsfishing boat that sent off the bride and groom, it was truly a North Carolina event beautifully photographed by the Southerner herself, Melissa Tuck!

Sweet personal details, gorgeous photography, amazing flowers, and true, wholehearted love are the ingredients guaranteed to cook up a beautiful wedding and Skye and Alex’s Birmingham soiree has them all!  From the chuppah (handmade from a blanket crocheted by Skye’s great grandmother), to the something blue (blue buttons from one of her baby dresses lovingly sewn into Skye’s gown by her mother), to serving a keg of their favorite Michigan brew, Alex and Skye celebrated their love with their nearest and dearest by including many of the details that make their love story special and unique – and that’s the best part of any wedding!  Historic Rucker Place is full of Southern charm, and the images from Spindle Photography beautifully capture Skye and Alex’s love – and all of the amazing details!

Lisa and Jason are so lucky to have incredibly talented friends who all took part in putting together the couple’s big day. Held at Sova Gardens in Sebastopol, California, the entire event was filled with tons of colorful, fun details (pinwheels and fans at the ceremony!) I am gaga over the florals by Lisa’s friend Billy, especially those lush, buttery yellow peonies. Such a beautiful and totally personalized day captured by the always awesome Emily Takes Photos!

Obviously, I love weddings. I admittedly swoon over several daily but there aren’t very many weddings that actually make me gasp out loud when I see them. I gasped several times while looking at Kim and Jody’s stunning Colorado wedding. Gorgeous florals and design by Alexan Events, a chuppah (handmade by Alexan Events!) that makes me all giddy and swoony inside, wooden invitations, and…a double rainbow? I mean really? Really. How much more perfect can it get? I can only imagine how happy Kim and Jody were to receive their photos back from Jared Wilson Photography because they are jaw-droppingly gorgeous.
