Real Weddings: Kim + Jody

The stunning mountains of Beaver Creek Ski Resort were the backdrop to Jolyn and Andrew’s Colorado wedding. Although I’m not a fan of skiing (or really any activity that involves the cold), I adore the look and feel of mountain lodges and am in love with the gorgeous florals by Bella Fiori whose centerpieces of elegant blue hydrangea and burgundy dahlias were placed in natural bark-wrapped vases. I love, love, love this wedding and all of the wonderful photos by Rebekah Westover!

An October wedding in the heart of the Colorado mountains?  Yes please!  Cori and Nate’s nuptials were held at the heavenly Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Fraser, CO.  The Rocky Mountains were the spectacular backdrop for the outdoor ceremony. Dinner was served in the gorgeous Broad Axe Barn, made up of a historical building that was moved onto the ranch, piece by piece, and perfectly fit back together. Alexan Events completely transformed the barn into an elegant reception space with taffeta curtains and candlelit lanterns.  The violet and green color palette is so beautiful, and I’m completely head over heels for these amazing images from Preston Utley!

Courtney and Shawn’s wedding at The Little Nell is pure Colorado magic. Though it snowed the next day, their September wedding could not have fallen on a more gorgeous, sunny day. The couple chose bright fall colors to pop against the lush green mountains and worked with the wonderful Lauryl Lane and Virginia of Bluebird Productions to create a beautiful, warm setting amongst the pines and in the dramatic ballroom. Centerpieces of aspen trees and an assortment of fall blooms (loving those orange tulips!) graced the tables and brought the fall foliage indoors. We adore the laid-back Colorado elegance in the stunning images from James Christianson!

We can’t think of a more perfect rustic-meets-elegant venue than Sundance Resort in Utah—and Liz and Nick’s wedding at the mountain property is a little bit of both! With help from Brittany Farley of Something Blue Weddings & Events, the couple pulled off a flawless fete that incorporated organic, earthy elements and simple cream florals from Artisan Bloom, along with twinkling lights that glimmered in the snowy night. The salvaged wood beam mantel filled with hydrangeas, bark, and cream candles is our fave! Navy Nicole Miller bridesmaids dresses are lovely, while bright yellow Hunter boots add a punch of whimsy and color to the monochromatic palette. Liz’s Wtoo gown is gorgeous, and we’re absolutely in love with her brown fur shrug—elegant and practical in the snowy mountains! From the story told in these images from Blue Rose Photography, Ariel and Collin couldn’t have chosen a more perfect, light-drenched place for their wedding than Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop, Washington! The mountains in the backdrop are majestic and gorgeous partnered with the mossy orange and gold fall florals from Patti Bosket Au Naturel, especially the wreaths hanging on freestanding doors that “open” up to the ceremony. The rust-orange color repeats on stationery from Carlson Craft. Navy bridesmaids dresses from H&M are a great alternative to black and look fabulous paired with the bold flowers. Ariel was practically floating in an Essense of Australia gown—we love the tiers of ruffles on her skirt! Stop by the gallery to enjoy all of the images from this stunning autumn wedding!

We just adore the springy peach and pink tones and floral theme running throughout Laura and Marcus’s wedding in Horseshoe Bend, Texas! Rustic elements like succulents and wooden crates mixed with peach and pink florals and mercury glass vases, all from Petal Pushers, transformed the Escondido Golf & Lake Club into a garden wonderland for the entire affair. With help from DFW Events Event Planning & Design, the couple got the laid-back, sophisticated vibe they wanted. The shot of sky blue in Jenny Yoo Collection bridesmaids dresses is gorgeous with peach bouquets, and Laura’s lace Monique Lhuillier gown is just to die for! Earthy elements like green moss ground the flowery elements and keep them from being too whimsical, and more peach flowers grace the classic cake from Coco Paloma Desserts. Chelsea and Evan’s rustic Charlottesville Virginia wedding, photographed by Eric Kelley, is divine. The couple gave Pat’s Floral Design complete creative freedom when it came to crafting casual centerpieces for the wooden farmhouse tables. “Our main words of guidance were that we wanted a laid-back look of seasonal wildflowers in no particular color palette,” said the bride. “What they came up with was incredible.” From an elegant ceremony arch made of two antique doors to herb table decor in natural clay pots, we couldn’t agree more! Cheslea looked simply stunning in her lace Monique Lhuillier gown. But our favorite detail? Perhaps the chalkboard seating chart, which a friend of the couple wrote out “in her beautiful handwriting,” the bride said.

The Resort at Paws Up has been on my dream vacation list since the moment I heard about it. Never did it cross my mind how spectacular it would be to have a wedding there. And spectacular is most certainly the word that I would use to describe Lindsay and Steven’s wedding…along with unique, thoughtful, and downright breathtaking. Bridesmaids wore separates from J Crew and French Connection and carried rustic yet elegant bouquets by Habitat Floral Studio in shades of soft peach and cranberry. We are madly in love with the gorgeous tablescapes, the horse-drawn wagon, and the positively stunning Montana scenery. The fabulous Michele M. Waite captured all of these gorgeous images – get ready to fall in love!

I’m not sure it gets much sweeter than Lauren and Rian’s rustic Colorado barn wedding. Yellow and green details filled the day from the flowers to the fabric used as centerpieces and even wrapped around Lauren’s bouquet. They were married under a gazebo and then the festivities moved to an outdoor garden party at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. I want to dive into the yummy looking dessert bar filled with homemade pies and tarts and crumbles by Living The Sweet Life! Such an adorably rustic wedding with sweeter than sweet photos (including an absolutely heartwarming photo of the bride and groom dancing!) by Autumn Burke Photography!

There’s just something about fall weddings that I adore, especially those when the leaves are changing and the color palette takes advantage of the beautiful scenery.  Rachel and Todd’s Nashville wedding is full of delightful, rustic details, and with the gorgeous backdrop of Front Porch Farms and the talented Kristyn Hogan behind the lens, you know it’s going to be wonderful!

Alexis and Wade’s intimate mountain wedding has us completely spellbound! Designed by the incredible Virginia of Bluebird Productions, their natural and organic wedding featured abundant foliage to echo the gorgeous setting. The rustic surroundings of The Smith Cabin seem a world away from Aspen, and Bluebird Productions and Prema found the perfect cliffside location to hold the couple’s ceremony. It’s a view (and a moment) that we’re sure no one in attendance will ever forget! We simply adore how Alexis’s bridal style mixes rustic and elegant, with a fantastic Reem Acra gown and floral crown by Prema. On a snowy Chicago night, Laura and John were married at one of the most unique and beautiful venues, Salvage One. Working with Pistil and Vine, the couple created an intimate dinner party feel in the gorgeous architectural space. Arrangements in ivory and green adorn the wood tabletops with mismatched chairs, and fresh flowers surround a tiered confection from Alliance Bakery. Laura’s Monique Lhuillier long-sleeve gown from Ultimate Bride is sophisticated and vintage-inspired, and Amsale bridesmaids dresses in shades of blush and slate perfectly complement the rich brown tones of the venue. We’re head over heels for each and every image by Julia Franzosa!

They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck, and a beautiful autumn mist in Park City created a mystical backdrop for Sierra and Andrew’s romantic Deer Valley nuptials, so we think they are due for a lifetime of good fortune! Sierra is radiant in a Monique Lhuillier gown in the very palest of blush, with glamorous hair and makeup from Versa Artistry. We adore the warm palette of orange, amber, garnet, and burgundy—the deep colors are a perfect pairing for the ballroom at Stein Eriksen Lodge. Soirée Productions designed the reception around the rich colors in the autumn florals from Decoration Inc and the centerpiece of the reception was a stunning cake with fall foliage! We are loving the sophisticated touches in Denis and Roxane’s wedding at Chicago’s Ivy Room! The sleek space is a perfect blank slate, and the couple worked with LK Events to create an elegant and modern setting. Hydrangeas in the fresh palette of day—ivory and spring green—set atop the tables and ceremony aisle markers, and hints of chevron added a bit of playfulness to the scene. After dancing the night away on the floor to Colby Bassera and The Party Faithful, Roxane and Denis tucked into a perfectly petite butter yellow cake from Table 52. Braden and Adam describe their wedding as “elegant, classic, and fun” and we totally agree! After a week of non-stop rain, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and the weather was perfect for their big day at Basalt’s Roaring Fork Club. The mountainside ceremony setting is simply stunning, and a beautiful arbor accented with greenery by Carolyn’s Flowers was the only adornment needed. Virginia from Bluebird Productions made sure that the day went off without a hitch, and worked with Carolyn’s Flowers and Pink Monkey to pull together the gorgeous reception tent, with an elegant floral chandelier and drool-worthy centerpieces of lisianthus, garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, and orchids. We’re completely head over heels for these images from Kate Holstein!

Ahh, we can’t stop staring at these gorgeous images from Julia Wade Photography! Nestled in the foothills of Highlands, North Carolina, The Farm at Old Edwards Inn is an elegant venue for Sarahbeth and Lee’s classic wedding. Oakleaf Flower & Garden brought in tons of white lilies and hydrangeas to mix with earthy greenery, transforming the inn into a dreamy and romantic setting for Sarahbeth and Lee. We are in love with Sarahbeth’s fur, which she wore over a stunning beaded lace Martina Liana gown from Divas Boutique & Bridal. Black bridesmaids dresses from The Dessy Group fit right into the classic feel of the day, coordinated by Taylor Wright of Old Edwards Inn & Spa. At the reception, tables are crowned with more white florals, some arranged in sparkly mercury glass for subtle shine. A simple square wedding cake from Creative Pastries by Sid, set atop a silver cake stand, is another timeless detail of this beautiful affair. Oh how we love a flawless wedding like this one!

You know when two wedding photographers are getting married, it’s bound to be spectacular! And such is Sarah and Matt‘s magical affair at Salvage One. The industrial, whimsical locale was perfect for pastel florals from Fleur, romantic candlelight, and vintage decor from BHLDN. We adore their invites, elegant but fun with silhouettes, from Love vs. Design. Sarah said no to traditional bridesmaids and matching dresses, and instead focused on a gorgeous classic gown from J.Crew for herself paired with glittery Kate Spade shoes. Special touches at the event, coordinated by Liven It Up Events, included desserts from Molly’s Cupcakes, mini burgers from The Slide Ride food truck, and custom cloth napkins by Dot & Army. We’re swooning over the amazing images by Pen / Carlson and we know you’ll agree that it’s one of our favorites of 2013!

There is little that’s more stunning than a gold-and-orange hued autumn wedding, and Jenny and Brian’s affair at the Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley Resort doesn’t disappoint! Outdoors surrounded by Park City, Utah, mountains, the couple exchanged vows beneath a chuppah. Jenny wore an embroidered Heidi Elnora gown and, while she chose to keep things simple with no bridesmaids, the couple’s lab donned an orange bow tie and stood in for the occasion. Orange roses and calla lilies mixed with yellow and green florals and fall berries by Orchid Dynasty were rich and colorful in Jenny’s bouquet and on reception tables. Fiery blooms graced the cake from Deer Valley Resort, set amidst a gorgeous fall-inspired reception indoors, with flawless decor orchestrated by Soiree Productions. All of the images from Pepper Nix are simply breathtaking!

These fun and beautiful images of DJ and Alan’s Sun Valley Idaho wedding from Hillary Maybery Photography make us wish we were kicking up our boots with them, too! Stunning outdoor surroundings frame this affair, with a rustic chapel setting the stage for a ceremony filled with cowboy hats and boots, plaid kilts, and spring florals in yellows and greens from Tara Bella Floral Design. DJ’s elegant lace Anne Barge gown is a gorgeous contrast to the earthy elements and her personalized boots from M.L. Leddy’s. We love the details that the team at Amanda Seaward’s Absolute Weddings wove in—including monogrammed plaid throws, distressed leather chairs, and antlers—to drive home the theme of DJ and Alan’s affair! Chicago’s Salvage One is an absolutely gorgeous event space—its unique, modern, rustic interior was the perfect backdrop for Erin and Mike’s simple but chic soiree! Captured beautifully by Anna Guziak Photography, their winter nuptials featured candle centerpieces from Fleur that complemented Salvage One’s vintage, mismatched wood tables, and a fabulous all-out dessert table from Sweet Table Chicago.
