Real Weddings: Diane + Jack

What a picture-perfect Los Angeles wedding Lynn and Steve had! We’d never guess this pretty pink and white affair is set in the heart of LA, with soft blooms from Stems Florist festooning the setting at Maguire Gardens, where the ceremony was held, and Cafe Pinot, site of the reception! Our friends at Minted contributed elegant stationery, and Caroline of Serenity Events helped Lynn and Steve coordinate the day of the wedding. Bridesmaids wore short light pink dresses from J.Crew, the perfect complement to Lynn’s stunning Monique Lhuillier gown. And we can’t leave out Steve, handsome in a Black by Vera Wang suit! We love the mod look of Lynn’s silver snakeskin Jimmy Choo heels, too. The outdoor soiree offered plenty of great natural light for Esther Sun to photograph it perfectly. We hear at the end of the night, Lynn and Steve surprised guests with a visit from the In-N-Out Burger Cookout Trailer—a delicious finish to the flawless event! See it all in the gallery!

I’m absolutely swooning over Debbie and Robert’s classic and modern wedding! There are so many details that are just so gorgeous – Debbie’s beautiful gown and shoes, flowers by the always incredible JL Designs, but I have to admit that my favorite part of their big day is the actual venue itself, Serra Plaza in San Juan Capistrano, California. The couple wanted their celebration outside, but at the same time, their religion is very important to them. So, what to do? Bring in antique church pews and suspend chandeliers from mid-air over the venue’s courtyard, of course! After the ceremony, the courtyard was flipped into a banquet-style outdoor reception so that everyone could celebrate under the stars. Inspired by the colorful Mediterranean seaside, Stephanie and Niels created a romantic and vibrant soirée at a private estate nestled in the hills of Santa Barbara.  Stephanie’s vision was brought to life with poolside cocktails, colorful centerpieces in terracotta pots, and a Spanish-inspired dinner of paella and sangria.  Soigne Productions made sure that the day went off without a hitch, and we are utterly captivated by all of the gorgeous images from Michael + Anna Costa!

If Diana and Danny’s everyday lives are even half as chic as their Southern California wedding, they’re definitely some of the most stylish people ever! This beautiful couple was married at the Cravens Estate in Pasadena surrounded by friends and family from all over. There are many details about their wedding that I love (like Diana’s amazing shoes and accessories) but once I saw their colorful florals I was smitten! Rooted Harmony blended rich textures and colors to create bright and elegant arrangements that include peonies, roses, wax flower, astilbe, eucalyptus, and even succulents! Patty and Andrew were married on a picture-perfect California summer day at the Huntington Beach Hyatt Regency. The couple met as mere children and attended every school from junior high to graduate school together! Their laid-back beach wedding beautifully blended classic elements, like Patty’s stunning Pronovias gown and elegant florals (those pink peonies – swoon!) from Greenleaf Designs, with personal elements, such as their custom New York City MetroCard escort cards, which paid homage to the couple’s graduate school years in NYC. Patty is a vision of easy elegance with a soft updo, Twigs & Honey headpiece, and beautiful, natural makeup from E2Beauty, and her maids’ deep blue  J.Crew dresses perfectly complement their beribboned pink bouquets! Sara and Chris’s romantic garden wedding at Hartley Botanica simply has us swooning! For starters, Sara’s White by Vera Wang gown–in a soft and sweet shade of pink–is nothing short of amazing! And with a backdrop like that, pastel roses in more shades of pink and lavender are a must; we adore the lush bouquet by Belle of the Ball Designs that Sara carried! Whimsical floral stationery from Minted further grounded the theme of this affair, where Sara and Chris took their vows beneath a canopy of curly branches, twinkling lights, and a jaw-dropping chandelier covered in lush blooms. Liz and Jason’s elegant wedding completely eschews a modernist LA vibe for pretty pastels and soft touches that shine in these images from Christine Farah Photography! We’re enamored with the airy layers of Liz’s bridal gown, paired with delicate pearl jewelry and a romantic updo. Soft pink bridesmaids dresses set the tone for flowers in the same color family by Milieu Florals. With CCL Weddings and Events onboard to lead the planning and design, Liz and Jason created the perfect day for them and their friends and family. Following the ceremony at Los Angeles Full Gospel Church, the lovely Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at The Music Center played host to the reception. There, the couple took part in a tea ceremony to pay homage to their heritage. Pink chevron and vintage touches created a fairytale space for dinner, dancing, and a luscious dessert from Cakery Bakery. This affair couldn’t be more gorgeous. See it all right here!

We are smitten with the lovely details of Kristen and Kevin’s Los Angeles wedding at the Skirball Cultural Center! Lush pink and white flowers from G Fiori Floral Design are soft and pretty against Kristen’s Anne Barge gown from The White Dress. The ribbon and rhinestone belt of the gown was the inspiration for the gray bridesmaids dresses from J.Crew. Tall pink and green topiary arrangements and a dessert table filled with sweets surrounds a tall white confection from Cake Crumbs have us drooling. We love a gorgeous spring wedding, and this one fills the bill perfectly. Stephanie and Jeremy’s wedding at the Hotel Bel Air was held in the garden beneath a gazebo draped with lush flowers and greenery by Flower Wild. The flowy light taupe of the Amsale bridesmaids dresses are elegant next to Stephanie’s ethereal Monique Lhuillier gown. We love the look of organic elements like tree bark and moss and twinkling lights shown in these photos from Gia Canali Photography. This is such a lovely, gorgeous affair!

Beachside weddings in Santa Monica simply guarantee gorgeousness, and Pauline and Richard’s wedding at Shutters on the Beach doesn’t disappoint. We’re loving the juxtaposition of sophisticated ceremony images with casual beach portraits from Connie Lyu Photography. Pauline is a glowing bride in a lace mermaid-style gown, and we love the crispness of the water blue bridesmaids dresses. Touches of lace and pastel pink accent this entire dreamy affair. We wouldn’t change a thing, see it all in the gallery!

We love the location of Kristy and Harnnull’s California wedding—tucked away in the gardens of Cafe Pinot in the heart of downtown LA! The couple carried the floral theme over into their invitations from It’s Amore Design + Letterpress and even used nature-inspired recipe cards for a guest book. Adrienne Gunde Photography captured the day of laid-back elegance for the couple, who had Bunch Studio and Sassy Girl Weddings & Events collaborate for chic, loose pink and green florals and reception decor that looks so pretty in the afternoon light. We think this lovely day was absolutely perfect—see it all in the gallery!

We’re not sure it gets more breathtaking than celebrating your wedding at a winery in Sonoma! Stephanie and Frank chose the gorgeous Viansa Winery for theirs, and the couple agrees that “reality exceeded our expectations!” Volatile Photography captured every little detail, from the soft pink and cream blooms fashioned by Vanda Floral Design to the vibrant rose-topped cake from Fleur de Lisa. The romantic tented reception area, with lots of pink, white and gold details, is making us swoon. We are in ooh-la-la love with Stephanie’s hot pink Badgley Mischka shoes—the jewel-encrusted brooch on each one repeats the same detail as the edging of her Pronovias gown. It’s the little things that make a big day!

Joanna and Erick were determined to find a serene setting in Chicago for the backdrop of their wedding, and they sure found the perfect oasis with Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. The couple brought casual elegance to this refreshing venue with vintage accents like mason jars and milk glass vases bearing pastel flower bouquets created by Fleur for their outdoor ceremony and reception. To go along with their “loose and natural” theme, the bride and groom encouraged their bridal party to embrace their unique sense of style by assigning a color scheme and allowing their friends to choose their own attire. A variety of pies replaced the traditional wedding cake, and hand-sewn teabags were given as favors to all the guests at the end of the evening. We love with the heartfelt touches incorporated into this wedding and Jaclyn Simpson did a fantastic job capturing the day!

Lauren and Adam wanted something unique and special for the guests traveling to their Santa Monica wedding, and the only venue they ever considered was Shutters on the Beach. A white flower-covered chuppah paired with Lauren’s Monique Lhuillier gown were magical against the backdrop of sparkling water, giving guests a glimpse of true California style. Charcoal-colored bridesmaids dresses from Nordstrom picked up the slightest hint of stormy gray in the Pacific and paired well with pink ombre-inspired bouquets from The Floral Lab for a soothing color palette that gave way to a bold reception indoors: shades of pink blooms, from bubblegum to fuchsia, adorning tables covered in deep gray linens. Artist Agnes Csiszar painted the scene as Lauren and Adam took to the dance floor with guests, a keepsake idea we adore! As always, Hazelnut Photography perfectly captured this amazing soiree!

Warm and elegant, Euri and John’s wedding at Pasadena’s The Athenaeum is pure romance!  Euri chose one of our favorite color palettes – soft ivory and peach, dusty pink, and pale gray -  and mixed in beautiful mercury glass containers and luxe gold linens on the gorgeous tabletops created by Lindy at Commerce Flowers.  Euri is a positively stunning bride in her custom lace gown from Monaco Bridal (that floaty skirt, I die!), and we are head-over-heels in love with the fabulous images from one of our favorites, Erin Hearts Court!

When a couple as creative as Josselyn and Jason get together with equally talented vendors and friends, wedding magic happens. This wedding was a relaxed and elegant affair in beautiful tones of blush, nude and cream, and was put together almost entirely by the couple and their friends. While Jolene Hilliard arranged stunning and organic floral bouquets, the couple and their nearest-and-dearest decorated a single 60-foot-long table with hanging tea lights and handmade napkins. Josselyn looked breathtakingly beautiful in her dress by Tadashi Shoji — so beautiful that we can’t stop staring at its beaded back! This couple truly transformed Redlands, California’s Oakmont Park into a magical, elegant and incredibly chic venue, and the photos by James Christianson are pure heaven!

Hannah and Eddy’s wedding in Pasadena, California was so soft and romantic, just as the bride envisioned it! As a florist, Hannah wanted flowers to be a central theme of the event, and she created the bouquets and boutonnieres from peonies, lily of the valley, garden roses, ranunculus, anemones, astilbe and berzillia berries, while entrusting a talented friend to create the reception florals. At the reception, guests were invited to wrap up bouquets of lush blooms to take home as favors.  Bridesmaids wore soft blue dresses from BHLDN, and we love the adorable flower girls in tulle skirts handmade by Hannah! The day was captured beautifully by Christine Farah Photography, and we can’t stop staring!

Jourdie and Michael shared a small celebration with friends and family in St. Louis’ Missouri Botanical Garden. Clary Photo beautifully captured the wedding’s soft floral décor, from pink peony bouquets to mint julep cups filled with blooms arranged by Wildflowers. The bride even wore soft pink Jimmy Choo heels, which went perfectly with their subtle pink theme! The bridesmaids dark blue dresses were the perfect pop of a deep color. And don’t you adore the signs that dotted the guestbook table? They were handmade by the bride.  We fell in love with the simple elegance of Jourdie and Michael’s wedding and know you will too!

There are no words to truly express how head-over-heels we are with Julie and Sam’s wedding. Not only does it have the most gorgeous color palette, but the florals by Chestnut & Vine are also nothing short of phenomenal. White clematis, astilbe, raspberries, succulents, dahlias, and among several others, orchids? Amazing. Watercolor stationery and hand painted signs by Julie Song Ink? Melt. Colorful hanging cranes? Stop it. All of this and a beautiful couple who absolutely beam with adoration for each other? We’ll be swooning over this wedding for quite a while! Bravo to the incredible team of vendors who put it together and to the incomparable Jose Villa for capturing these stunning images!

Every now and then, a wedding comes along that I just can’t get enough of, and Kerali and Ryan’s Newport Beach wedding is absolutely one I can sink myself into and never come out!  Equal parts rustic and romantic, each little detail is perfection – from the beyond (beyond!) fabulous Ark & Co. bridesmaids dresses to the succulent accepts and burlap bouquet wraps and table runners.  And what better place to celebrate than your parents’ backyard?  I’m completely captivated by all of these gorgeous images from Rebekah Westover Photography!
