I’m positively giddy about sharing some gorgeous St Patrick’s Day inspired weddings with you today! Kelly green, kilts, and tartan galore, these weddings highlight some of my favorite Celtic-inspired details. Each one is absolutely beautiful so be sure to click through to see the full event!
This Celtic Countryside shoot by Souder Photography makes my wee heart flutter. I’m very proud of my Swiss & Norwegian heritage and have never once felt a desire to be Irish. Nope, not even on St. Patty’s Day. After these photos however I’ll be shocked if you don’t have even the slightest inkling to put some heather in your hair, grab your lad, and run for the nearest pasture that has baby farm animals (bonus points if the sky is just a touch gray or if there’s a soft rain). Needless to say, a fantastic job by Southall Eden with the styling!
Happy St. Patrick’s eve everyone! Today we’re celebrating with an ode to green! Beautifully neutral and natural, there are several flowers that come in various shades and textures of green: hydrangea, orchids, mums, tulips, roses, and bells of Ireland to name a few. Here are some of my favorites!
Pantone has revealed its 2013 color of the year—and we were beyond thrilled to see that it’s the lovely and timeless emerald green! Beautiful whether dressed to the nines or sleek and modern, emerald green is a perfect choice for the classic couple with a dramatic flair. Adding a dash—or a whopping spoonful!—of emerald to your wedding mix results in pure perfection, guaranteed.
Have you heard the news? Greenery is Pantone’s color of the year for 2017! Incredibly elegant and sophisticated, greenery transforms bouquets, drapery, tablescapes, and even chandeliers into woodland works of floral art.
Molly and Mike’s lovely Wayzata, Minnesota, wedding was a family affair, starting with the location of their ceremony and reception—Mike’s parents’ backyard! With help from Jennae Elizabeth of Blush & Whim, Molly and Mike planned the summer wedding of their dreams, which included vows beneath a pergola constructed by Mike’s stepdad. Along with Sarah of Four Finches, Molly’s mom, Mary, helped style the colorful flowers for the affair, some of which she grew in her own garden. Molly paired her ivory gown by Blush by Hayley Paige from The White Gown with a lace mantilla veil, also made by her mother. Bridesmaids in navy dresses from J.Crew and groomsmen in gray suits were casual but perfectly in step with the rest of the laid-back elegance of the day. Other fun touches included a heart-shaped pinata handmade by Molly’s sister and a delicious looking unfrosted chocolate wedding cake by Catherine Miller of Camelbear Bakery. Enjoy all of these gorgeous images from Clary Photo!
Today’s inspiration board is all about romantic, chic sweetness. The softest powder blue and the most sophisticated blush pair perfectly to cultivate a calm and romantic palette. Ruffles, chiffon, and fluffy flowers are anchor elements, and I love the little hint of gilded gold!
Hello and happy weekend! We are closing out another beyond pretty week here at EAD! From an unexpected fall palette to a dreamy rehearsal dinner, we’ve fallen completely in love with the inspiration around the wedding world. Prepare to swoon over the gorgeousness from the week starting with this unbelievably romantic day after love shoot! Who’s ready to go to Paris?!
The late summer is glorious, isn’t it? Autumn will be upon us before we know it, and I’m so ready for the elegant colors of the season—ivory, cream, deep shades of green, pale peach, and warm gold. This botanical-inspired board shows that fall isn’t all pinecones and pumpkins!
We love the beautiful mix of whimsical and rustic in this lovely emerald inspiration shoot from Abby Wyatt! From the loose, airy florals by Statice right down to the fabulous Zara shoes, each little detail perfectly complements the natural rocky river setting. Unique avian brass vessels add an interesting twist, and the gorgeous emerald bridesmaids gown takes our breath away! See all of the beautiful images from Olivia Griffin Photography in the gallery!
Soft and elegant, mint green has long been one of my favorite colors—and paired with touches of ivory and gold, it couldn’t be more beautiful for a spring or summer fête! The gold accents provide sparkle aplenty (but subtly, think morning wedding!) while romantic lace, bows, and dainty teacups are just delicate enough to add a feminine touch. Absolutely smitten with this color palette for a wedding, party, or even home decor!
This shoot, created for V4 of the fabulous Southern Weddings magazine, has just about every fabulously preppy detail you can imagine: Seersucker, monograms, magnolia leaves, a green and white color palette, and it was even all inspired by a polo match! While the impeccably styled tablescape by Calder Clark Designs has us craving a mint julep, it’s the fun, striped bridesmaids’ outfits that make us do a double-take! They are so cute and definitely something your ladies could wear again. We can’t say enough how much we love this amazing styled shoot, but be warned: these images by A Bryan Photo could quite possibly make you to stop whatever you’re doing and search for the nearest polo club!
This gorgeous styled shoot has it all: an absolutely stunning gown from Carine’s Bridal Atelier, Valentino d’Orsay pumps, and the simply breathtaking setting of Keswick Hall at Monticello near Charlottesville, Virginia. The rolling green hills provide a lush backdrop for bold pink and green blooms in bouquets and centerpieces created by Pat’s Floral Designs. We are head over heels for the classic Southern charm that Just a Little Ditty created in this beautiful setting, and the gorgeous images from Jen Fariello Photography!
Photographer Caroline Tran calls this Saddlerock Ranch inspiration shoot—complete with a dreamy tabletop covered in driftwood, protea and colored glass—”easily one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever shot.” It’s no wonder this Malibu, California shoot is one of our favorites of the year! Caroline teamed up with Utterly Engaged magazine and So Happi Together to craft this uber-creative shoot, which was also part of one of the photographer’s recent workshops. We’ve fallen for the eclectic, mismatched vintage seating surrounding the long farmhouse table, provided by Found Vintage Rentals, and the ruffled ombre cake by A Wish and A Whisk. Oh, and the zebras! Who could resist wedding inspiration that comes with zebras?!
Enchanting and romantic, from the moment I set my eyes on this ethereal shoot inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I haven’t been able to look away! LeAnna Clark of Details by LeAnna brought the magic of Shakespeare to life with stunning details – lush florals from Anthomanic (including a fabulous floral crown!), letterpress stationery, an antique lace tablecloth and candelabra centerpiece, and the most gorgeous location, Fredericksburg, Virginia’s Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont, an artist’s home full of iron gateways and endless flowering gardens. I’m completely captivated by these beautiful images from Charlotte Tittle Photography!
Inspired by Provence and the French countryside, this beautiful bridal fashion shoot designed by MMD Events is so glamorous and elegant! I adore the simple and classic hair, makeup, and jewelry paired with the gorgeous gown from The Dressing Room – when you have fabulous skin and shoulders, you don’t need to load up on the accessories, let your beauty shine through! The bouquet created by Amanda Allen Designs features one of my favorite eye-catching blooms, anemones. Loving each little detail and the beautiful images from Caroline & Evan Photography!
It’s usually about this time of year when snow melts, birds start to fly back, and plants that have been sleeping all winter begin to peek through the warming ground. This fabulous spring-inspired shoot by Greia Marlow Events and Kor Floral is a nod to all those elements we see emerging this time of year. Not quite in bloom yet, they featured bulbs and greenery in a modern tablescape in a neutral palette. You already know I’m a fan of dipped glassware, and I adore these modern invitations by SeeLeigh! The perfect amount of spring and winter in each of these beautiful photos by Nicole Chan Photography!
There are a few flowers that are the superstars in our wedding world—peonies, hydrangea, garden roses, orchids—but it’s often the lesser-known flowers accompanying them who truly sell the feel of the arrangement. In our Friday Flowers feature, I want to highlight not only the superstars, but the flowers in supporting roles as well in hopes of guiding you brides out there still trying to narrow down exactly what they want for their big day. Today we have a flower who usually is seen as a filler to other flowers but that can also have a huge impact when it’s the star of the show—Astilbe!
Inspired by a peacock feather, these jewel-toned tabletops designed by Beth of SQN Events are the perfect combination of elegant and modern. Whether you’re planning a wedding or a party, jewel tones set the stage for a fabulous urban holiday soiree, and the gorgeous purple, red, and green palette is brought to life by the modern blooms from Dilly Lily. Ribbon-wrapped menus and favor boxes with touches of swirling calligraphy add an elegant touch to the wedding tabletop while “naughty” and “nice” gift boxes add cheeky punch to the holiday tablescape. The scrumptious sweets table and 4-tier truffle cake from Truffle Truffle is a fun and unique alternative to a traditional cake. I’m in love with all of the colorful images from Maypole Studios!
I am always in love with Clary Pfeiffer‘s weddings, and Erin and Eric’s St Louis wedding at The Trolley Room at the Forest Park Visitor’s Center is no different. Their classic kelly green and peach color palette, the beautiful Bells of Ireland (a nod to Erin’s Irish heritage), the custom letterpress invitations… every little thing down to the Where the Wild Things Are reading during the ceremony leaves me smiling and utterly in love, which is exactly how Erin and Eric are – their love for eachother and the close friends they shared the day with is palpable.Â
