Hello everyone! Hope you all have enjoyed indigo week here at EAD. Of course it’s Friday, so we’re celebrating the end of the week with some wonderful moody indigo blue flower arrangements. Some gorgeous blue flowers to keep in mind are thistle, delphinium, nigella, and hydrangea.
Hydrangeas are right up there with the most summery flowers, don’t you think? I love to walk around my neighborhood on a summer afternoon and check out the beautiful cloud-like hydrangea blooms in front of everyone’s houses. They come in a rainbow of colors: white, purple, pink, even green, but my all-time favorite are the blue! It’s no surprise that they are a popular choice for many brides. From bouquets of just a couple lone hydrangea blooms to larger arrangements where it’s just used as an accent, I love when blue hydrangea is used in weddings!
It’s taken just about every bit of restraint I’ve got to keep myself from driving to the beach in this incredible weather. Anyone else with me on that? For now we’ll have to settle for living vicariously through this gorgeous nautical shoot from Brooke Roberts Photography. I can feel the breeze now on this glorious Jekyll Island wharf, and taste the delicious seafood placed so beautifully on this table set for two. And those perfectly blue and white florals by English Gardens? Simply divine. The natural, rustic beauty of this seaside shoot will keep me from driving to the beach…at least until the weekend!
Lindsey and Michael were married at the beautiful Heavenly Scent Herb Farm in Fenton, Michigan. The gorgeous, sprawling grounds of the venue are filled with sweet smelling herbs and flowers and were a stunning backdrop to their romantic garden wedding. I’d absolutely love to spend an afternoon here! Kathy, the owner of the farm, also helped out by creating the beautiful bouquets out of fresh hydrangea and herbs from around the farm. Such a pretty wedding with lovely photos by Jennifer Grant!
Inspired by the architecture and verdant gardens of AndalucÃa, this shoot from Bloomfield Photography is a flawless combination of grand venue and intimate outdoor space. A stunning organic green floral arch by Anais Floristas frames the intimate ceremony space and the bold Pantone blues used for the tablescape complement the vibrant greens of the surrounding Botanical Gardens of Málaga. The villa had never opened its doors to a styled shoot before but we are so very glad they decided to allow Reviva Weddings and the entire team to create something that showcases the stately manor and lush gardens so perfectly!
Brynn and Justin chose the spectacular views of downtown Orlando’s Dr Phillips Center to play host to their chic and classic Florida wedding! Their vision of an open, airy wedding was brought to life in the majestic floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city! Justin (whom according to Brynn is the fashionista in the relationship!) donned his Navy uniform for the ceremony, then changed into a sleek royal blue suit for the reception. A wedding party in pink Sorella Vita dresses accented the blue perfectly. Tickled Pink Brides worked with the couple to make sure their wedding day ran flawlessly, and Peddles created tall but simple centerpieces to fill up the room with its high ceilings. These two are so in love and every moment (including the adorable family time with their pups Lyric and Hudson) was beautifully captured by Kristen Weaver Photography!
When you combine the rolling hills of the Edna Valley with an evening dinner party celebrating true love, you have a truly magical day! Elizabeth and River selected the Center of Effort Winery for their Central California wedding, and chose a color palette of shades of of blue and purple, which made the rugged backdrop even more beautiful! Vanessa Noel Events worked with the couple to design an event full of unique details: the seating chart was displayed on lanterns, textured blue velvet linens from La Tavola Linen graced the farmhouse tables, and a fabulous dessert table from Paper Cake Events with woodland florals by Noonan’s Wine Country Designs was a showstopping addition to the intimate outdoor affair. You won’t want to miss a single moment in these gorgeous images by Anna Delores Photography!
The monochromatic look is all the rage, and this styled shoot featuring David’s Bridal‘s Fall 2017 collection is “Something Blue” perfection! Inspired by a Melissa Sweet for David’s Bridal wedding dress in dreamy ice blue, the Aisle Society ladies transformed the open and airy Hudson Loft into an entire wonderland of blue. Coordinating bridesmaids dresses in ice and steel blues were just the start of the on-trend styling. The Diana Gould Ltd team created an incredible harlequin-style ceremony backdrop with brushed metal accents that made the light dance throughout the loft, giving an enchanting glittery look to the accompanying ghost chairs. The tabletop carries through the modern theme, with a glass-topped table, shibori napkins, and a showstopping flower box centerpiece. As if all of these incredible details weren’t enough, a tassel installation surrounded the minimalist wedding cake from Lulu Cake Boutique. Swoon! From sapphire jewels to coordinating invitations (and of course those exquisite dresses!), David’s Bridal is truly a one stop shop for wedding goodness! We are completely smitten with this entire shoot, and the fabulous images captured by Cassi Claire Photography!
Equal parts glamorous and playful, this garden wedding inspiration shoot from Marsais, Blush and Vine, and Weddings by Jessee channels inspiration from Marie Antoinette and cotton candy! The unique juxtaposition perfectly captures the sweetness of Brittany and Ethan’s love for one another, and combines for a whimsical fairytale shoot not to be soon forgotten. Enchanting details such as a mirrored table, hand-painted opal dinnerware, and dramatic black taper candles set the scene, with lush compote-style arrangements from Blush and Vine completing the glimmering tabletop. Cotton candy from Lush Puff echoes the gown from Carol Hannah with swaths of tulle, and sleek black accents from the silk ribbon by Honey Silks & Co. to fabulous Manolo Blahnik heels play up the glamorous style. We are swooning over every unexpected detail in the lovely images captured on film by Marsais!
It’s often said that “Paris is always a good idea,” and today’s modern and chic inspiration shoot styled by Caroline Dutton Events marries classic French details with a modern feel. A custom art backdrop from Christine Olmstead, the marbled details of Baltimore’s Congress Hotel, and a sleek and contemporary mirrored tabletop are perfectly paired with watercolor stationery by Just Write Studios and a gilded cake from Buttercream Bakeshop that feels straight from Versailles! A sophisticated tulle dress by Amsale has a classic feel, with an illusion back detailed with satin buttons. And an on-trend, cascading bouquet from Eight Tree Street is overflowing with peonies, roses, and larkspur. Prepare to fall in love with the beauty captured by Camille Catherine Photography!
How lovely is Allison and David’s Lowcountry wedding, held outdoors at Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina? Classic style rules the day, with fresh white flowers like anemone, hydrangeas, and roses from Out of Hand, and timeless details implemented by the team of Hannah Grogan and Lisa Thomas of Ohh! Events. The backdrop of the water and sunset was a gorgeous scene for the ceremony, with bridesmaids wearing preppy dresses from J.Crew and Allison in a stunning Martina Liana gown. The ruffled skirt detailing is to die for! The amazing team at Fish created the buttercream cake, which resembled a hydrangea kissing ball atop a bed of roses and was the perfect complement to the crisp blue and white color palette of the tent reception decor. Don’t miss any of the beautiful images from Amelia + Dan!
It’s no wonder that classic style rules the day at Meghan and Aaron’s Chautauqua, New York, affair–after all, the wedding was held at The Hall of Philosophy at Chautauqua Institution, an education center and summer resort where Meghan’s family goes back generations. To set the tone for their day, the couple sent out vintage-style stationery designed by the groom, Aaron Fetter. Following the outdoor ceremony, where bridesmaids wore short pink Jenny Yoo Collection dresses that sweetly coordinated with hydrangea bouquets by Francesca’s Floral Design, guests headed to the resort’s Athenaeum Hotel for a laid-back reception that included a buttercream cake from The Cakery, plenty of dancing, and the release of paper sky lanterns, which lit up much the way Meghan did in her Watters gown! We love these images from Hunter Photographic and can’t get enough of all of the beautiful details waiting for you in the gallery!
There is so much gorgeous inspiration in this collaboration shoot between Kristyn Hogan and the talented team at Historic Cedarwood, and we love it all! Amber Housley created the lovely floral stationery and helped direct the styling of this bridal party tea in the garden. Eclectic linens from Urban Outfitters ground the tables for a collection vintage dishware and vases on top, filled with bold blooms and some of the prettiest teacups we’ve ever seen! The bridal party sipped pink Champagne from Le Grande Courtage while playing dress-up in amazing gowns from The Bride Room and accessories by Beatrice Couture Designs styled by Opulent Couturier. And aren’t you just in love with the playful side pony styled by Jessica Jones? Run, don’t walk, to the gallery to soak up all of the inspiration!
Whitney and Adam’s elegant rehearsal dinner in Scottsdale, Arizona is such a fresh take on Southwestern style. The Silverleaf is a gorgeous location, with its clay tile roof, brick floor patio, stone walls, and stone firepit for taking in the sunset—just what you’d expect from Scottsdale—but inside the decor is more traditional, and absolutely breathtaking! Every detail is flawless thanks to Victoria Canada Wedding & Events, who pulled together all of the amazing details: ecru linens, classic place and menu cards, and lush green and cream arrangements created by Petal Pusher. We’re enamored with the desert lighting and stunning backdrop of this special dinner, captured beautifully by Melissa Schollaert Photography! See all of the gorgeousness right here!
Tiffany and Jim’s lovely wedding in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is filled with soft details and pretty blue accents. The silk draping near the altar of St. Mary Student Parish matched the bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN and the groomsmen ties with their Jos. A. Bank suits. Forming a lighter palette were the florals by Chelsea Flower Shop, LLC, which paired nicely with the lace touches on invitations and tables at the Michigan League Ballroom reception. We love all of the classic elements Heather Jowett captured, including the timeless cake design by Decadent Delight. And, in a fun twist, Tiffany swapped her gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown for a shorter tulle dress before she and Jim left their reception to begin a new life together.
Michelle and Marty live in New York, but they chose Michelle’s hometown of Chicago to celebrate their big day. We’re drooling over their rich color palette in fuchsia, blue, and purple, and although their reception was held at the Chicago History Museum, it was totally elegant and modern! The flowers by Kloeckners are absolutely amazing and really pop both as centerpieces as well as against the soft gray of the bridesmaids’ dresses. The event was stunning! The team at Greatest Expectations did an incredible job and these photos by Gerber+Scarpelli Photography have surely brightened our day!
There is something so sophisticated about a color palette of navy and white — but we’ve fallen for more than just the dramatic hues of Emily and Zach’s wedding outside of Boise, Idaho! Take the fashion, for instance. Emily’s Casablanca Bridal has the most stunning sweetheart neckline, and the bridesmaids dresses — a variety of short sheaths in the same navy blue — are the perfect complement to the all-white bouquets by Boise At Its Best that the ladies carried. Emily and Zach exchanged vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony, beneath a gorgeous chuppah built of branches and dripping with white orchids and hydrangea. Beautiful floral design continued at their reception at Shore Lodge, where a mix of high and low white arrangements topped tables covered in crinkled blue linens. These photos by Ampersand Studios show every detail, including the writing on the couple’s wedding cake. Do you recognize the words? They are the lyrics to Etta James’ classic “At Last.” Amazing!
There are lots of things that make our hearts skip a beat: pastoral outdoor settings, gorgeous gauzy gowns, earthy and elegant flowers, to name a few. Well, this rustic but glamorous inspiration shoot from Katie Stoops Photography has all three and then some! Shindig Weddings & Events set up the stylish scene on the grounds of Belle Haven on the James in Scottsville, Virginia. The gorgeous Monique Lhuillier gown—a flattering corset style—is such a pretty formal contrast to the lush, casual wildflower blooms by Pat’s Floral Designs. And that ruffled cake dripping with blackberries and cherries? Shut the barn door—Paradox Pastry outdid themselves! Go ahead and steal some ideas from this stunning scene!
