Colorblocked Wedding Inspiration

No matter how you plan on spending your Valentine’s Day, these sweet heart details will surely get you ready to celebrate! We couldn’t let this Valentine’s week go by without a roundup of some of our favorites, so whether you choose to incorporate heart details into your wedding, don some sequined heart goodies for the holiday, or are simply a fan of the sweet shape, we know that these hearts will surely make yours flutter!

There are few things more feminine than a perfectly tied bow! From veils to sashes to shoes, bows are truly a head-to-toe accessory. We adore them whichever way they’re used, so there’s no question why they’re our current crush for brides!

Ahhh. This styled shoot is frothy and girly and just a breath of fresh air—which is great, because we’re left nearly breathless by the gorgeous styling from Maine Seasons Events and the stunning blooms from Floral Fauna. Turquoise milk glass, gold, and tons of pink work together to create the fabulous tabletop decor. And those custom ruffled swags on the tables? We’re in love! The simple texture of the cake from Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott shimmers thanks to exquisite gold detailing, and we adore the letterpress stationery by Gus & Ruby Letterpress and hand-calligraphed by Neither Snow. The models’ gowns from LulaKate look like dresses straight out of a fairy tale—which pretty much sums up why this shoot is one of our favorites of the year! Today’s shoot is not your normal fairytale. While many girls picture weddings inspired by Cinderella, we’re absolutely head-over-heels for this shoot inspired by the lost boys of Peter Pan! Dream catchers, stunning bridal gowns, and outstanding personal styling help bring the fun spirit of the lost boys to this shoot. The color palette was inspired by rainbow ice cream, which Petal Pixie did a phenomenal job of incorporating into floral arrangements that popped against the Utah desert backdrop. Stripes are can be timeless yet modern, subtle or bold, whimsical or elegant, and I love the different ways they can be used in weddings! From tablescapes to attire and accessories to decor, there are so many ways to incorporate this fabulous design into your big day. What I’m really loving right now, whether bold or subtle, are black and white stripes. Such a dramatic statement and fun complement the vivid colors of your flowers!

What I wouldn’t have given to be a part of this “little white dress” inspired shoot by Urbane Montage Events! The flowers, the colors, the dresses, the shoes, the accessories—I truly can’t handle it. The peachy melon and aqua color palette is my absolute favorite and the bouquets by Munster Rose are to die for. The little white dresses from Flutter Boutique that are featured in this shoot would be perfect for a rehearsal, reception dress, or even a summer party! Every detail of this shoot and all the photos by Ashley Nguyen Photography are pure 100% fabulousness.

Did everyone do something fun for Cinco de Mayo? If not, this stunning shoot photographed by Camilla Binks will inspire a belated fiesta! Blooms and Company created a tabletop in the desert by mixing brightly colored florals and cacti with gorgeous aqua accents. Check out the adorable mini piñatas and the great chevron plates! My absolute favorite though is the absolutely breathtaking lace mantilla veil by Tessa Kim. So grab a little sip of tequila and enjoy this beautiful Mexican inspiration!

Goodness gracious, where did April go? I’m already finding myself looking at May as I make plans and am getting very excited for these April showers to turn into May flowers! Another fun thing to think about are May Day celebrations around a May Pole with all the colorful ribbons and flowers! How fun would that be as inspiration for a wedding?

I couldn’t be happier about all the prettiness we’ve got today, and wait ’til you see what we’ve got now! This gorgeous styled shoot was created by Imoni Events who incorporated personal and creative details with stunning florals by Petal Pusher. I was swoooning over the colorful palette of pinks and peaches with bright pops of tangerine and I absolutely adore the Southwestern goodness in the backdrop of Royal Palms Resort and Spa. Climbing vines, gorgeous fountains, and old trees? Yes please! Oh how I love this whole shoot and all the photos by Melissa Jill Photography. Hope you enjoy it too!

It’s usually about this time of year when snow melts, birds start to fly back, and plants that have been sleeping all winter begin to peek through the warming ground. This fabulous spring-inspired shoot by Greia Marlow Events and Kor Floral is a nod to all those elements we see emerging this time of year. Not quite in bloom yet, they featured bulbs and greenery in a modern tablescape in a neutral palette. You already know I’m a fan of dipped glassware, and I adore these modern invitations by SeeLeigh! The perfect amount of spring and winter in each of these beautiful photos by Nicole Chan Photography!

Isn’t there just something magical about hot air balloons? Our Inspired Creations Contest concept today from Pemberley Events, Petal Play Design, Image Icon Photography and 11 Eureka Boutique was inspired by a photo of a fun-loving couple in a hot air balloon. Floating glass balls and papier-mâché hot air balloons floated above a vibrant and colorful tabletop filled with roses, tulips, and poppies. The color didn’t stop with the flowers! Along the natural runner sat colorful vases and glassware too. The seating chart was actually burlap map of the world with different colored hot air balloons showing people where to sit. Such an adorable theme and wonderful ideas for a colorful travel-inspired wedding!

I love fall weddings, especially when there are unique and fun autumn elements that are outside of the traditional norm.  This fabulous inspiration shoot from Lisa Martin Bloomsberry Floral and Sara Gray Photography brings a modern spin to the fall wedding, showcasing a color palette of vivid orange and yellow paired with kraft paper brown, and fun and unique details including a beer and nut bar, apple place cards, and a recycled beer bottle centerpiece!  The beautiful models show off two bridal looks – one classic and one soft and playful, and what better accessory for bridesmaids than bright yellow Hunter boots?

I can’t believe it is September and that Labor Day has come and gone.  But I’m so excited for the crisp fall weather – it is always perfect in Chicago!  I love fall weddings too, and for those of you planning autumn soirées, here is some fall inspiration that looks past the traditional reds and oranges and breaks out the color!  Deep pinks, shades of blue from royal to navy, buttery yellows and burnt coral are so versatile and just perfect for your fall palette.

I’m in love with flowers. Beautiful blooms absolutely melt my heart, especially a stunning bouquet! Romantic, garden-style bouquets are some of my favorites.  Classic and elegant, and perfect for when you want your flowers to absolutely steal the show!

From the metal-topped table to the wire baskets and architectural florals and containers, this Inspired Creations Contest concept is more downtown city glitter than feminine and girly, and I am utterly in love.  Studio28 Photo, The Stylish Soiree, Krista Jon, Archive Vintage Rentals and Ashley Zwar have created a modern, industrial take on glitz and glam with this peach, ivory, and black tabletop.  A black sequin table runner (black sequin is the new it fabric, ya’ll!) creates a dark and dramatic backdrop for the striking centerpiece of airplants, bromeliads, peachy tulips, garden roses, hydrangea, anemones, and reindeer moss.

Hello again EAD readers! Today has been a pretty big day for me: I got the call that my dress is in (so now I’m in a rush to find some shoes so I can go have my first fitting!), and I started training at anthropologie (you should all worry about whether or not I will actually be able to pay for my wedding after spending so much time and money in a fairy tale land of clothing and household goods)! 

As 2020 draws to a close and we usher in a new year with its new hopes and goals, there’s guaranteed to be quite a bit of celebrating around the world. And while our celebrations are sure to look different than they usually do, whether it’s a cozy night at home watching the virtual stream of the Times Square ball drop, or counting down over a zoom party with friends, there’s still nothing that marks a celebration more than with a good toast! Champagne or sparkling wine usually take centerstage during these moments, both in weddings and on New Year’s Eve, and there’s really no reason not to break out or break in some new glasses to start making memories now! So whether you’re toasting to a new name or a new year, here are some of our favorite glasses to help ring in the occasion!

It’s Valentine’s Day, and as we all know, Valentine’s is meant to be enjoyed with the one(s) you love, so what better way to celebrate than with a fabulous Galentine’s Day brunch! Emily Elizabeth Events created this adorable “Girl Gang Gathering”, where she and several of her closest friends came together to sip, eat, chat, make Valentine’s Day cards, and create floral arrangements, and this is one party we wish we could attend! Pink and gold stationery from Paper Delights invited each lady to the gathering, where they were greeted with balloons festooning the entrance to Seattle’s Ollie Quinn and the most gorgeous tabletop with florals by Emily Elizabeth Events and dusty pink linens from La Tavola. We’re loving chic and modern details like acrylic standing mirrors, cut-out name place cards, and pink lip cookies, and the romance and elegance of the compote centerpieces, textured fabrics, and vintage trays displaying sips and bites. Galentine’s has never looked so fabulous and we are head over heels for every moment, captured beautifully on film by Blue Rose Photography!
