Real Weddings: Danielle + Brett

The mix of elegant and rustic details in Chanda and David’s Dover, Florida, wedding is stunning perfection! The outdoor ceremony, held under trees draped with Spanish moss at Cross Creek Ranch, was filled with the classic touches we love about a garden wedding: ranunculus and spray roses in bouquets by Alta Fleura, mason jars filled with white blooms, and white lanterns hanging from branches. Chanda paired her mother’s antique lace cathedral-length veil with her Demetrios gown. Bridesmaids wore elegant designs from Bill Levkoff. The reception, held outdoors and in a barn on the ranch grounds, featured lots of sheer linens, twinkle lights, and personal touches. We especially love the lace linens and the stacked ruffled look of the icing on the cake from Alessi Bakeries. Delicious! Morgan and Cully knew they wanted an outdoor wedding. As a little girl, Morgan and her sisters spent days at their family’s cabin horseback riding, fishing, and making lots of memories, so it seemed perfect to have their wedding there! Their families worked for months planting flowerbeds, updated the cabin, and gathering vintage china. The whole day was filled with soft-colored, vintage details and beautiful flowers by Birdie and guests were treated to locally harvested honey as favors too! Today’s super sweet wedding, held at The Magnolia Manor just east of Knoxville, Tennessee, was a mix of shabby chic, rustic, and vintage. Textural florals done by the venue mixed roses, hydrangea, and alstromeria with loads of cascading eucalyptus. Bridgette, Jason, and their guests were hit with a surprise rain shower in the middle of their ceremony that (although I’m sure it was no fun at the time) gave Dixie Pixel some super cute photos ops! My favorite detail of the day was Bridgette’s beautiful lace dress which incorporated lace from her mom’s dress as well as vintage jewelry from her great, great aunt. So sweet, and such a sweet day!

Oh, we can’t stop smiling about Christina and Dan’s wedding at Atlanta’s Callanwolde Fine Arts Center! We are in love with the bright and colorful palette of blush, coral, tangerine, and even a hint of saffron, designed by the talented Amy Osaba. But the details — from the amazing calligraphy wedding stationery to the unbelievably cute flower girl — ensure our cheeks will be sore from smiling! These amazing photos from Erin Hearts Court show an effortlessly gorgeous and fresh day full of love, and it makes us positively giddy!

Jacquelyn and Stewart’s wedding was a labor of love. Family members and friends gathered to help craft the “simple, natural and not over the top” vision Jacquelyn had for the day. They collected wine bottles and vintage containers from flea markets, which the bride’s mother filled with fresh flowers on the wedding day. A family friend welcomed the couple and their guests onto their private estate for the affair and “as you can see we were thrilled about that and felt so blessed by it,” Jacquelyn said. White tags tied to wine corks were pinned to a board and served as the couple’s escort card display, a detail we adore! Braedon Photography captured the natural beauty of the day so well that we feel as if we are basking in the sunshine with the bride and groom!

A day 14 years in the making, Annabelle and Andrew’s wedding was certainly a celebration! A celebration with phenomenal flowers (done by the bride’s aunts!), a pretty venue, a ton of handmade and homemade details, loving friends and family, and one killer pair of shoes! They were married at Murray Hill, a Virginia home with views overlooking the Potomac River, and then moved inside to the barn which was lovingly decorated with hundreds of vintage jars and vases filled with flowers like ranunculus, protea, orchids, hypericum, and freesia. The couple used many vintage and heirloom pieces collected by friends and family which according to the couple made the day feel like “a true labor of love”! Jaime and Byron were married in Northern Idaho at a private residence along the Ponderay River. It was an unbelievably picturesque setting enhanced with beautiful florals by Petal Talk who mixed wildflowers with roses and calla lilies in different shades of pink, orange, and cream. After the ceremony, guests transitioned to a tent along the lake, joined shortly after by the bride and groom who made their grand entrance by boat! How cool is that? Meaghan faced something that many brides face during wedding planning. Blogs, magazines, and everything else in this world about weddings, sometimes there can be too much inspiration. She had focused so much on creating an uber-hip and happening event until one day she remembered it was all about her husband-to-be, friends, and family. Certainly a good reminder for all of us! After that realization, she found her designing groove and Meaghan and Kerry’s wedding is just about as vintage-hip and personal as it gets with a touch of homey-warmth thrown in. Jennie and Jordan did not let a modest budget stand in the way of having their dream wedding. They brought in a team of friends and family to help create a gorgeously natural event. According to Jennie, instead of thinking about “what [they] couldn’t spend” they thought instead about “how [they] could do it differently”…really inspiring, no? The flowers, the invitations, the decor, and the desserts were just some of the details that the team effort helped put in place. But seriously, their St Louis wedding is oh-my-goodness gorgeous. We were completely and utterly smitten by Loriann and Wesley’s Texas Hill Country wedding at Camp Lucy the moment we set eyes upon it. The couple mixed relaxed glamour (how fabulous are Loriann’s bejeweled Gianni Bini heels?) and romantic decor to create a sweet, slightly shabby-chic soiree. Bee Lavish designed a garden ceremony under a magnificent arbor by Whim Florals, with illuminated oak trees and elegant, bright florals on each aisle pedestal. Guests then moved inside the timber-framed Great Hall, where they were greeted with farmhouse style tables, lush garland centerpieces, and vintage china. Loriann is the picture of sophistication in an Enzoani gown and her mother’s vintage veil, and her maids are sweet and chic in J.Crew frocks. You know when two wedding photographers are getting married, it’s bound to be spectacular! And such is Sarah and Matt‘s magical affair at Salvage One. The industrial, whimsical locale was perfect for pastel florals from Fleur, romantic candlelight, and vintage decor from BHLDN. We adore their invites, elegant but fun with silhouettes, from Love vs. Design. Sarah said no to traditional bridesmaids and matching dresses, and instead focused on a gorgeous classic gown from J.Crew for herself paired with glittery Kate Spade shoes. Special touches at the event, coordinated by Liven It Up Events, included desserts from Molly’s Cupcakes, mini burgers from The Slide Ride food truck, and custom cloth napkins by Dot & Army. We’re swooning over the amazing images by Pen / Carlson and we know you’ll agree that it’s one of our favorites of 2013!

What a breath of fresh air Melanie and Jordan’s romantic Australian wedding is! We love the collected, vintage feel of the photos from Feather and Stone. The pink and garden beauty of Ampelon Gardens is a stunning backdrop for this affair. There are so many gorgeous blooms from Flowers of Elegance Redcliffs, especially in romantic bouquets and also pinned in soft updos and braids. The coral-pink of the bridesmaids dresses from Cinderella’s Bridal World blend elegantly with the surroundings. We adore Melanie’s custom Caleche Bridal House gown, with its sweet lace details and vintage look. Spending some time scrolling through all of the fabulous details, like burlap and lace touches at the reception, a clever doily seating chart, and pretty floral china, in the photo gallery!

Oh, Emily and John’s wedding is so stunning! The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island is a top-notch destination for a wedding celebration because it simply never disappoints; talented staff took care of details ranging from catering to rentals to preparing the couple’s Tiffany blue wedding cake. The coastal palette of corals, pinks, and aqua in flowers by Josie Harlan of Anything With Plants & Flowers and water blue bridesmaids dresses from The Dessy Group is lovely outdoors in front of the ocean. Emily’s Watters gown is classic and pretty, much like the surrounding decor. Brooke Images captured every last detail of this affair, from the succulent-and-rose ceremony chair decor to the adorable golf cart exit at the end of the night—see all of the fun in the gallery!

Oh my, we are drooling over the gorgeous wedding of Katie and Brian! The elegant 1920s touches mixed with a bit of rustic glam is just the perfect combination for an outdoor affair in Oregon. The design by A & B Creative is flawless, and flowers in shades of pink, lavender, green, and yellow by Fleur:ology Wedding Floral + Styling are unlike any we’ve ever seen! We like the fresh blooms on the side of the intricately iced Beaverton Bakery cake, too. Of course, we always love the romantic look of a Claire Pettibone gown; Katie added a veil from August Veils to hers, and she’s stunning! Karen and Ken’s lovely Sonoma wedding at Cornerstone Gardens is overflowing with bold and colorful wildflowers! Rich berry tones and crisp coral come together in the beautiful centerpieces tucked inside delicate, vintage containers, and we are just in love with the fluffy ivory and blush bouquet—a perfect complement to Karen’s flowing chiffon gown. Lauren and Stewart’s candlelit Nashville wedding and reception is so breathtaking! The drama of the flickering light during the ceremony at Scarritt-Bennett Center is softened by Lauren’s vintage-inspired lace dress from Bella Couture and pale pink bridesmaids dresses by The Dessy Group. Classic bouquets accented with cameo pins and pastel flowers, all by A Village of Flowers, add to the antique look of the reception at aVenue—we adore all of the lace, floating candles, and those fabulous chandeliers! Even the Jay Qualls cake gets a dose of old-school with vintage brooches festooned on the layers. We love the simplicity of this affair, held at a family residence in Indiana. Meghan and Josh’s inspiration gave way to natural details such as pretty baby’s breath and pink David Austin rose bouquets by Marcia’s Flower Cart. The sweeter elements got a shot of rustic flair with barn wood tables built by Meghan’s stepdad and planted succulent favors and centerpieces. The backyard venue provided soft surroundings for the bride’s Watters gown and pale pink D’Zage bridesmaids dresses. Meghan, who is a wedding photographer, wanted to make sure the whole affair showed plenty of both her and Josh’s personalities, and we see them shining through in these images from Clary Photo!

Have you ever found the most beautiful spot in the woods, looked around and thought, “it would be perfect to get married here?” Paige and Tyler’s wedding is that exact woodsy perfection. Colorful, natural, and unfussy, the couple tied the knot outside under a canopy made of branches in the Utah wilderness. Paige looked effortlessly beautiful in a draped dress from J. Crew, a beautiful hairpiece by Mignonne Handmade, and she carried the prettiest of wildflowers that she and her friends assembled. Kate Osborne Photography did a beautiful job capturing their woodsy celebration!

We just love when country meets chic, and where better for such a wedding than Austin’s Camp Lucy? Gerrie and Ryan threw a laid-back but sophisticated party, with elegant gray bridesmaids dresses, bold flowers balanced with earthy succulents by Merveille Floral & Design Atelier, and desserts from Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop. A-Town Disc Jockey Service, Inc., provided tunes for guests to get down to after feasting on a delicious spread from Pink Avocado. We’re still smiling at these wonderful photos from The Nichols!

There are so many gorgeous elements in Jennifer and David’s wedding, held at The Blue Dress Barn in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The site itself is rustic, but touches like feathers and lush blooms in bouquets and arrangements from Posh Petals and Jennifer’s absolutely amazing Paloma Blanca gown—complete with an unbelievable rhinestone-and-lace capelet—upped the glam factor in a major way! French Country details and a chocolate wedding cake festooned with more feathers from Dee’s Specialty Cakes just furthered the sophisticated feel at this woodsy location. The images from Amy Carroll Photography captured the magical, charming sentiment of this wedding. And we totally adore the bride’s lottery ticket wedding favors, tied in festive bags with a penny! We’re somewhat teary just looking at the emotion on Jennifer and David’s faces—what an absolutely breathtaking affair!
