Romantic Old Hollywood Wedding

For their wine country wedding at  Solage Calistoga, Natalie and Robert envisioned an intimate celebration with their family and closest friends. The couple crafted that celebration with simple, all-white floral arrangements by Kate Stanley and sweet handmade details, including truffles made by the mother of the bride. Closer To Love Photography beautifully captured every detail of the day—even the rainbow that came out after the couple’s rainy ceremony!

Gina and Joe’s story begins like so many others in this generation: via a dating app and an awkward first date. Despite the fact Joe was not a Francophile and “avoided all of the French words” at the French restaurant they ate at, the pair met up again and the rest was history. Before they knew it, they were planning a wedding in Temecula’s wine country with Ashley Bee Photography documenting their day. Purple was common favorite color between the two of them, yet they wanted to break up the hues with various shades. Mauve, gold, and the deep brown wood interior at Wiens Family Cellar created a classic and rustic feel. Gina and Joe are fond of the outdoors, yet due to the weather and the season, they opted to stay warm and cozy inside. Despite this, they wanted to extract those aspects of the outdoors they love and add them into their indoor venue. Long, wooden tables mostly exposed with Sweet Flowers’ wildflower-esque creations gave this nature-loving couple exactly the motif they wanted, and it’s a treat for us all too!

We are head over heels for Lauren and Taylor’s chic blue-and-white San Francisco wedding! Lauren, a wedding planner herself, immediately began pulling together ideas after Taylor’s proposal, so that—with the help of Ryder Sloan Events—they could have an outdoor affair to remember. She started with the location, Stable Cafe. The urban garden space was a great backdrop for a collection of blue-and-white ginger jars filled with florals from Mandolin Flowers. Plumosa fern garlands and cafe lights added an air of sophistication, while classic arrangements of hydrangeas, anemones, and roses accented tables covered with Swiss dot linens from La Tavola. Lauren wore her cousin’s couture Carolina Herrera Bridal gown with embellished blue Manolo Blahnik heels, a Christmas gift from Taylor; her bouquet was wrapped with long pieces of vintage lace and blue velvet ribbon. Amy Nichols Special Events ensured the day ran smoothly from start to finish, which included transforming the courtyard after the ceremony into a luxe space for dinner and dancing, along with lounging areas outfitted with seating from One True Love Vintage Rentals. Later in the evening, guests sipped warm spiked cocktails from the DIY coffee bar, the perfect accompaniment to a salted caramel wedding cake from Cake Coquette—the design of the dessert mimicked the ginger jar pattern. Cheyenne and John’s lovely wedding at The Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley, California, is an earthy but elegant interpretation of the local scenery, with garden florals by Studio Choo and a ceremony beneath a canopy of lush green trees. Continuing with the bohemian spirit of the day, Cheyenne’s matron of honor and solo bridesmaid chose their own dresses from J.Crew and Free People, while Cheyenne stunned in a column-style lace gown from Atelier des Modistes. We love the green garland details on Cheyenne and John’s stationery from Painted Tongue Studios and menu cards from Fairmount Creates, which ties in with the rustic look of the venue. Events by Satra helped the couple coordinate the day, ensuring that every detail was perfect. Organic touches like seed packet favors and loose arrangements in gold and green reinforced the laid-back elegance of the affair, creating a cozy ambience. Black, white and gold is one of our favorite color palettes because of its timelessness, and when we saw how impeccable these shades looked in Gretchen and Chadi’s wedding, we were obsessed! After a ceremony at Our Lady of Mt. Lebanon – St. Peter’s Cathedral, this Los Angeles couple stopped by Walt Disney Concert Hall for a photo session, then headed to Cicada Restaurant for a reception that will make your jaw drop! This classy venue was the perfect choice for Gretchen and Chadi’s elegant affair. The restaurant boasted a double grand staircase, sparkling chandelier and balcony lined in gold and black chevron décor. And the tabletops? Lush white florals and silver candelabras radiating candlelight served as beautiful centerpieces by Ixora Floral Studio. We love the black napkins and sophisticated gold chargers at each place setting, but we especially adore the smiles on the couple’s faces. Meghan and Michael enjoyed a two year engagement, during which time the bride planned every detail of their day to perfection. “We started collecting vintage mercury glass the second I said ‘yes,’” she said. Meghan Haney Designs would later use the vessels to create a vintage chic affair with soft white and pink blooms. Wente Vineyards was the stunning backdrop for this California wedding, where photographer Bret Cole snapped some incredible portraits outside the property’s wine caves. We adore the soft patterned linens from Napa Valley Linens and the couple’s creative use of wine barrels as cocktail tables! Do you have a favorite detail?

If Diana and Danny’s everyday lives are even half as chic as their Southern California wedding, they’re definitely some of the most stylish people ever! This beautiful couple was married at the Cravens Estate in Pasadena surrounded by friends and family from all over. There are many details about their wedding that I love (like Diana’s amazing shoes and accessories) but once I saw their colorful florals I was smitten! Rooted Harmony blended rich textures and colors to create bright and elegant arrangements that include peonies, roses, wax flower, astilbe, eucalyptus, and even succulents! Frances and Jared wanted their wedding to feel more like a festive dinner party than a formal reception. Unfussy garden meets shabby chic, Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona del Mar was an amazing place to host the event. It was clean and elegant and add in beautiful personal details like a stunning Ketubah and family-made chuppah and I’m always sold. I love the classic florals by LaVonne’s Florist and of course you can never go wrong with traditional engraved Crane’s wedding invitations. Ashleigh Taylor did a gorgeous job capturing the day!

Lily and Bobby were married at the gorgeous Santaluz Club in San Diego. The venue provided lots of inspiration for them and their wedding planner, Thomas Bui, created a beautiful and romantic event with just a pinch of rustic thrown in. Any event that incorporates big fluffy peonies and succulents is for sure to be something I love and the florals by Adorations Botanical Artistry certainly did not disappoint. These photos by Vallentyne Photography are gorgeous and yet again make me long for my own California wedding!

Avery and Chris met at law school in Alabama but then moved to Georgetown where they continued to fall in love with not only each other, but with DC as well, so it’s no surprise that when they started planning their wedding, they wanted to share those loves with all their friends and family! It was an amazingly elegant weekend, starting with a gorgeous rehearsal dinner on Friday evening, and then a Saturday reception at Potomac View Terrace (APHA) where guests enjoyed incredible views of the Lincoln Memorial and Capital Building. They went with a classy and chic monochrome palette of ivory and gold for their tablescapes, incorporating both tall and short arrangements of white hydrangea, roses, and flowering branches from Duran Floral Design. Holly and Jacob chose the beautiful Grandeur House for their fall wedding and the all-white farmhouse was the perfect backdrop to highlight all of the personal details they chose for their event. Dusty blue tablescapes were warmed by centerpieces from A Pocket Full of Posies in hues of rust, burgundy, and orange, reflecting the fall foliage outside, and Holly’s mother used stained glass from churches hit by Hurricane Katrina to make beautiful glass flowers for the tables. Small magnolia and Japanese red maple trees were even placed in the space for the evening but then brought to the couple’s home to be planted as a memory of their big day! They did an amazing job incorporating family heirlooms into their celebration while also creating new heirlooms and Jessica Brown Photography captured each of those details perfectly!

Fall evokes the dreamiest of color palettes and also some of the most innovative pairings, we think. Brittany and Adam married near the tail-end of the fall season where society’s color palette has started gravitating away from oranges and bright reds into deeper tones. Darker reds and moodier colors like their choice of burgundy and navy blue are spot on for this time of year. We love how Elle and Jaye Events transformed JW Marriott Las Vegas into a romantic, fall wonderland with burgundy, gold, and navy blue woven together. With Susie and Will and all of the vendors strutting their best stuff for Brittany and Adam’s wedding, the result was exceptionally beautiful.

Almost instantly, a wedding in Washington, DC has visions of ultimate grandeur. Jen and Nick wed in the early spring at the Four Seasons and they left no stone unturned when it came to the ins and outs of their wedding design. Jen’s favorite blooms are the ever-stunning and lush magnolias and with that color inspiration as their jumping point, they coveted a white/ivory and green wedding with gold accents. Florist Amy from Amy Lauren Floral Designs expressed and continued the color palette by using sumptuous white peonies and white roses along with the glossy magnolia leaves. This wedding has too many impeccable elements to it, both in design and in personality. We’re just glad that Kristen Gardner captured all the splendor in full!

Let’s all take a moment (or two) out of our day to check out this bliss-inducing Janita Mestre wedding. It’s delightfully in the desert, so of course you’re going to spot a few cacti at Galway Downs, but you’re going to see such a dreamy color palette too. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, Stephanie and Alex wanted to evoke love all throughout, so they picked pink as their go-to hue. Big and bright blush and ivory florals by Events by Floral Sensations complemented the eye-catching David’s Bridal mauve bridesmaids’ dresses, and we loved this idea, too. Instead of continuing the soft tones everywhere, shake up the colors like Stephanie and Alex and throw a deep hue in the same color family somewhere that will be seen. Adding it to the bridesmaids’ dresses was a clever touch without overwhelming the couple’s desire to have an airy feel to their wedding day.

After Jessica and Zach got engaged, they sweetly joined Jessica’s parents on a trip to DC to celebrate their wedding anniversary. One of their excursions there was to take a walk on the grounds where her parents held their wedding ceremony, the National Cathedral. Naturally, they were so smitten with the gardens and the buildings that once they found out the Gothic-style cathedral was now hosting wedding receptions in addition to ceremonies, the New Yorkers jumped on the chance to get married there. Jessica wanted an “elegant and ethereal” day so with the help of Caroline Dutton Events and Kate & Lilly Floral Design, they drew inspiration from the Bishop’s Garden on the grounds. With Audra Wrisley capturing all the pretty pale pink roses, peonies, greenery, and everything in between, the duo said their I do’s and partied the night away in one of the most amazing venues we’ve seen.

Though the setting may be in Southern California, the Villa Del Sol D’Oro transports us to Tuscany with its romantic European estate feel. Sweetest Love Events designed an elegant outdoor soiree with a beautiful mix of vintage elements and muted tones. Sibyl Sophia Floral Design created a showstopping bouquet and pastel garden-style arrangements for the alfresco reception and sweetheart tables, whose buttery tones echoed the villa’s graceful exterior. The stylish couple embraced the glamour with a sophisticated pale dove gray Willowby by Watters gown from Mary Me Bridal and classic tuxedo from The Black Tux . Christine and Daniel’s wedding is equal parts romantic, dreamy, and classic. With the beautiful villa and gardens of Villa Montalvo as the setting and perfect Northern California weather provided by the month of May, the couple’s graceful ivory and blush color palette came to life within the lush green foliage. Charmed Events Group brought the elegant setting to life with lace linens from La Tavola, a dramatic draped arch decked with greenery and florals by Tango & Foxtrot, and fresh, clean centerpieces of peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus. A gorgeous lace-embellished cake from Studio Cake completed the scene. Christine is radiant in a sophisticated Allure gown to match Daniel’s chic black tux, and to honor their heritage, both donned traditional Korean wedding attire from LeeHwa Wedding for an incredible sunset portrait session. Vero Beach’s Quail Valley River Club sits along the Indian River and made for a picturesque setting for Kim and Drew’s Florida wedding! With a fresh color palette of ivory, green, and gold, their wedding was equal parts waterside preppy and clean-and-classic! The couple both grew up in Vero Beach, but didn’t connect until they were living in NYC, so celebrating at home in Florida with both their Florida and NYC friends and family was special. Kim, her best friend Jen, and her mother-in-law Glen (an artist) worked together to create the stationery, with a laurel wreath emblem hand-painted by Glen, who also created the husband and wife chair signs for the reception. The chic and modern aesthetic of the day carried through to the fashion, and we are head over heels for Kim’s bridal ensemble of Karen Willis Holmes separates, Alexis Bittar earrings, and relaxed waves styled by Haute Dry. Ivory J.Crew and Amsale frocks for the maids were accented with bouquets of lisianthus, astilbe, rose, and greenery from Lara’s Theme. Not to be outdone, Drew donned a navy suit from Combatant Gentlemen and bow tie from Fox & Brie. Prepare to be transported to paradise in the beautiful images from Charlie Juliet Photography!

Caroline and Kyle were married in a joyful celebration with fiesta flair at the Four Seasons Austin, designed by WHITT. After exchanging vows beneath an oak tree laden with gorgeous floral chandeliers, guests moved into the ballroom for the classic reception, with tables dressed with a sea of glowing candles and ivory centerpieces from Wendee Sawran. In keeping with the fiesta theme, the cocktail hour featured Mariachi Relampago, guests were decked out in floral crowns and maracas, and the reception featured Bobalu Cigar Co.
