Classic Waterfront Wedding

Nothing says cheerful like a beaming bride and groom in a dreamy field of golden sunflowers. Add some beautiful bridesmaids in peacock blue, sharp-looking groomsmen sporting black tuxes and bright-colored bouquets, and you have one seriously happy day. Sarah and John’s Dearborn, Michigan wedding was filled to the brim with joy, and we are obsessing over these photos by Amy Carroll Photography! Sarah and John were married at Our Lady of Orchard Lake and had an elegant reception at The Dearborn Inn that included dinner, dancing and many personal details. (The couple had their favorite Chicago popcorn and Michigan pizza as snacks for their guests. How fun is that?!) We are especially loving the blue champagne glasses at each place setting that perfectly accented the soft blue hydrangeas in arrangements by Wedding Flowers by Heidi! These images brought big smiles to our faces, and we wish the sweet couple a lifetime of love!

Head-to-toe, start-to-finish, I absolutely adore Holly and Jeff’s Michigan lakefront wedding! A gorgeous venue, stunning florals, incredible accessories, all in a beautiful pink and gold color palette? 100% swoon. Now, sometimes it can be tricky to choose the right florals for a wedding at such a naturally beautiful venue, but the gorgeous rasbperry, coral, and blush arrangements by Amy Kate Designs are absolute perfection! Can we also stop for a moment and enjoy the beautiful and bold Amrita Singh necklaces on Holly’s bridesmaids? Such a fabulous choice, and a beautiful pairing for the detail in the neckline of Holly’s BHLDN gown. These marvelous photos by Amy Carroll Photography have absolutely made my day!

Monique and Josh’s Scottsdale wedding was filled to the brim with soft, romantic, and elegant details. I can’t get over the breathtaking scenery, old-world charm, and incredible oversized doors of their venue, Montelucia. Monique’s Lazaro gown is swoon-worthy and the beautiful florals by Camelback Flower Shop are the perfect mix of elegance and romance in beautiful pinks and whites. Such beautiful photographs by Keith Pitts to get rid of those Daylight-Savings-Monday blues!

Katie and Ryan’s Rochester Hills, Michigan wedding may as well have been set in a faraway European village for all of its breathtaking fairy-tale details. Starting with a ceremony at First Congregational Church of Rochester, where old-world elegance abounds, Katie walked down the aisle in a gown from Le Salon that can only be described as amazing. Her cathedral-length veil featured embroidery that gave the ensemble a vintage feel. A bridal party dressed in black and white added drama to the day. For the reception at Meadow Brook, lush cream and pink flowers from Bellisario Floral and an abundance of white candles set on silver stands created an ethereal atmosphere. One of our favorite details is the classic cake from Sweet and Savory Bake Shop set on an antique gold stand atop gold sequin linens. Simply gorgeous! Tiffany and Jim’s lovely wedding in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is filled with soft details and pretty blue accents. The silk draping near the altar of St. Mary Student Parish matched the bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN and the groomsmen ties with their Jos. A. Bank suits. Forming a lighter palette were the florals by Chelsea Flower Shop, LLC, which paired nicely with the lace touches on invitations and tables at the Michigan League Ballroom reception. We love all of the classic elements Heather Jowett captured, including the timeless cake design by Decadent Delight. And, in a fun twist, Tiffany swapped her gorgeous Maggie Sottero gown for a shorter tulle dress before she and Jim left their reception to begin a new life together.

There are so many gorgeous elements in Jennifer and David’s wedding, held at The Blue Dress Barn in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The site itself is rustic, but touches like feathers and lush blooms in bouquets and arrangements from Posh Petals and Jennifer’s absolutely amazing Paloma Blanca gown—complete with an unbelievable rhinestone-and-lace capelet—upped the glam factor in a major way! French Country details and a chocolate wedding cake festooned with more feathers from Dee’s Specialty Cakes just furthered the sophisticated feel at this woodsy location. The images from Amy Carroll Photography captured the magical, charming sentiment of this wedding. And we totally adore the bride’s lottery ticket wedding favors, tied in festive bags with a penny! We’re somewhat teary just looking at the emotion on Jennifer and David’s faces—what an absolutely breathtaking affair!

What do you get when you mix an ivy-covered manor, bushels of baby’s breath and garden roses, a beautiful bride and a dapper groom? This romantic wedding celebrating the marriage of Mirah and Brysen! Set at Greencrest Manor in Battle Creek, Michigan, this couple wanted their wedding to be an intimate affair that reflected their personalities. For Mirah, this meant incorporating feminine touches with lots of personal details. For Brysen, the gathering needed to have a timeless and tailored vibe. From the handmade flower arrangements of blush garden roses and baby’s breath to the linen suits with cream ties, this wedding was definitely a perfect mix of the duo! Mirah looked amazing in her Victoria Nicole gown, and we can’t wait for you to see the way her veil caught in the wind in the images by Amy Carroll below. We love the romantic, classic and intimate feel of this wedding, and thank the couple for sharing their special day with us!

Pretty flowers, pale pink dresses, and an elegant outdoor venue… Laura and Steve’s Nashville wedding is garden party perfection! The details of their wedding truly couldn’t be prettier. They chose a palette of pale pink and mint green and selected hydrangea, peonies, and roses in arrangements by Enchanted Florist to decorate the outdoor gazebo at CJ’s off the Square. I love the paper flower escort cards and the gorgeous chandeliers but I can’t stop drooling over her amazing Louboutins! What a marvelous day with marvelous photos by Kristyn Hogan!

Amanda and Mike’s big city Chicago wedding portrays a certain sweetness that is both charming and sophisticated! Following a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Josaphat Parish, the couple and their friends and family headed to the gorgeous Chicago History Museum for a night of great food and dancing, thanks to Blue Plate catering and tunes from Matt Lewis and The Union. Amanda says she wouldn’t change a thing about the day, and we can see why! From the lovely ice blue bridesmaids dresses from Bella Bridesmaids to her own amazing Tara Keely gown, the attire was simple and elegant. Emilia Jane Photography captured beautiful images—we especially adore the iconic photos with the backdrop of the Chicago skyline! We love the mix of baby’s breath, peach roses, and white peonies in floral designs by Revel Décor, as well as the adorable confection by Amy Beck Cake Design—there’s so much to love, catch it all in the gallery!

The pastoral beauty of the Clifton Inn in Charlottesville acted as the backdrop for Jen and Joseph’s outdoor ceremony, and they couldn’t have asked for a more gorgeous Virginia day! We adore the soft green, gold, and blue color palette inspired by the seaside, and the beautiful floral table runner. All of the simple but elegant details, from lush hydrangea bouquets by Southern Blooms to Jen’s lovely strapless scalloped gown, were captured by the impeccable Katie Stoops and we are utterly in love.

It’s no secret that it’s the little details that makes a wedding feel personal. Caitlin and Thomas’ Beaumont, Texas wedding was filled with many of those details, including personalized Baylor University “Sic ‘Em” sunglasses favors. We love all the dresses in the wedding: the bride’s beautiful Alvina Valenta gown, the bridesmaids’ Monique Lhuillier dresses, and her fabulous Kate Spade getaway dress. Their wedding was soft, warm, and elegant, with pretty floral arrangements by Bevil of Beaumont and gorgeous photos by Jess Barfield Photography!

Anne and Michael blended elements of three cities for their summer wedding. They wed at the River East Art Center in Chicago, where they fell in love. They asked caterer Paramount Events to add Pierce’s Pitt bar-b-que sauce — a favorite from Anne’s hometown of Williamsburg, Virginia — to their pulled pork sliders. And they shared cheese curds from Michael’s old stomping ground of Madison, Wisconsin, with their guests. Just outside the center where the were married, photographer Austin Gros snapped the most beautiful images of the couple with Chicago’s skyline as the background. We also love the classic pink and navy color palette and all the elegant and pretty floral arrangements by Revel Decor!

Nicole and Ryan’s dream was to have a Florida beach wedding that was a mini-vacation for everyone who attended, and it seems they succeeded! The couple used a clean and fresh color palette of blue and yellow, and Blooming Flowers made sure to mix Nicole’s favorite flower, tulips, into the cheery arrangements. The entire day was laid-back, effortlessly elegant and personal. The couple even included their pup in the ceremony — a detail we can’t help but adore! A big thank you to Shipra Panosian for these beautiful images!

Jessica and Todd did not leave out a single detail for their Florida wedding. Simple yet truly elegant (hello Mr. Louboutin and Ms. Vera!), both their ceremony and reception were at The Field Club in Sarasota. Bridesmaids wore long navy chiffon gowns and carried pretty white bouquets while the guys dressed in grey suits with hints of navy. The reception was clean and classy with navy linens and pretty white florals by Perfect Settings. The weather was a bit threatening, but luckily, the only two downpours occurred just before and after the ceremony, sparing everyone from getting drenched and allowing Liga Photography to get some fantastic photos in the rich post-rain sunset. We hope you love this beautiful and classic wedding as much as we do!

Clary Pfeiffer is behind the lens of so many of our favorite weddings, and when her photographic genius is paired with the talented Brit Stewart Weddings, magic happens! Kim and Andrew’s St. Louis wedding at World’s Fair Pavilion is just that magic, with the most lovely garden feel! Sisters Flowers incorporated the couple’s color palette of pinks, soft greens, and pale purples into the lush, romantic florals – I absolutely adore the beautiful textures in Kim’s bouquet! The black linens and chairs added even more elegance and sophistication to an already gorgeous wedding venue. Guests celebrated with the newlyweds while watching the sun set and the fabulous Clary Photo captured the whole beautiful day!

Every detail of Katherine and Lorenzo’s wedding at the Powell Crosley Estate in Florida is simply divine. Katherine was inspired by the Old World feeling of the estate so she incorporated international elements into the day such as luggage tag escort cards and tables named for different places around the world. It was an elegant and romantic wedding dressed in whites and greens with accents of silver, gold, and bronze. With a color palette of pale pinks and whites, fluffy hydrangeas and peonies, Jimmy Choos, and fabulous photography, Tully and Dan’s Memphis wedding is, in my opinion, the epitome of classic elegance. Ohmygoodness this wedding is gorgeous. The incredible florals by Garden District to me are the highlight of the decor, a beautiful arch over the door at St. John’s Episcopal Church and a stunning oversized arrangement at Memphis Country Club. How cute are their flower girls too? Kristyn Hogan did an incredible job capturing this beautiful day!

Peony lovers, be prepared. Katrina and Ryan’s wedding was a fabulous, hot-pink-peony-filled mix of modern and vintage. Held in uptown Charlotte at The Mint Museum, the couple incorporated their silhouettes as well as frames throughout the event. It was such a great way to compliment the venue without being too literal and it turned out beautifully! The Schultzes did an incredible job capturing this stunning bridal party, the lush florals by The Bloom Room, and the rest of the details of this elegant event!

Let’s all take a moment (or two) out of our day to check out this bliss-inducing Janita Mestre wedding. It’s delightfully in the desert, so of course you’re going to spot a few cacti at Galway Downs, but you’re going to see such a dreamy color palette too. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, Stephanie and Alex wanted to evoke love all throughout, so they picked pink as their go-to hue. Big and bright blush and ivory florals by Events by Floral Sensations complemented the eye-catching David’s Bridal mauve bridesmaids’ dresses, and we loved this idea, too. Instead of continuing the soft tones everywhere, shake up the colors like Stephanie and Alex and throw a deep hue in the same color family somewhere that will be seen. Adding it to the bridesmaids’ dresses was a clever touch without overwhelming the couple’s desire to have an airy feel to their wedding day.

Eleanor says “From the moment we got engaged, we realized it was most important that our wedding be classic, elegant, but crazy fun.” We couldn’t agree with her sentiment more! From Eleanor’s classic Peter Langner gown to the chic, nautical location of Narragansett, Rhode Island’s The Dunes Club, the wedding came together perfectly within their vision. Ellie and Tim infused personal details into every aspect of their nuptials. The ceremony was held at Brown University (Eleanor’s alma mater), Tim and his groomsmen wore custom ties from The Knotty Tie with anchors and the state of Wisconsin (to blend their East Coast and Midwest families), and the couple enlisted Kearsley Lloyd to create a custom monogram and Sharon Morgera to design their wedding map. Bridesmaids dresses by Monique Lhuillier and soft pastel florals by Stoneblossom echo the seaside setting. We are smitten with each image from Erin McGinn!
