Glamorous Vintage California Wedding

When she pictured her wedding with Eric, Jodi envisioned rustic elegance—a blend of wood, lace and a touch of sparkle that would make a lasting impression on their guests. With Southern California’s elegant Walnut Grove ranch as their backdrop, the couple took on a multitude of do-it-yourself endeavors, as well as spent hours scouring Etsy for the perfect invitations, programs and favors. “I poured my heart into every little detail, and it ended up just how I had imagined it.,” the bride says. We’re head-over-heels for every detail ourselves, from the wooden centerpiece boxes etched with the couple’s initials to the pastel blooms that florist Regina Robertson arranged in each box. And those cakes! This couple had not one but three incredible, delectable whipped creations from Cindy Harber. We can only imagine they were as delicious as they look!

Ever since she was a little girl, Natasha dreamt of getting married in an Italian villa. As soon as she and Andrew saw Pasadena’s Villa del Sol d’Oro, they knew it was the place that would make her dreams come true! From the expansive gardens to the stunning architecture, it was the perfect venue to incorporate their love of vintage elegance and allow their guests to feel like they were transported to another time and place. Natives of Los Angeles, Michelle and Miguel wanted a spot for their wedding that didn’t feel like typical LA. The Legendary Park Plaza Hotel was the perfect venue for that, with its dramatic staircases, ceilings, and windows. The Dainty Lion helped Michelle and Miguel plan a celebration that was uniquely theirs, which included lush peony bouquets, baby’s breath topiaries, and pretty blooms in glass vases along tables peppered with gold sequin linens. Bridesmaids in taupe dresses were elegant, especially standing next to Michelle in a lace and tulle Pronovias gown from Bellasposa. We love Michelle’s blue Badgley Mischka shoes with sparkling brooches! Romantic touches such as floral stationery from Wedding Paper Divas and feather accents on place settings matches the drama of the location! A dessert table at the reception featured macaroons from Sweet and Saucy Shop, topped off with a cake designed by Hotcakes Bakes. We’re not sure it gets more breathtaking than celebrating your wedding at a winery in Sonoma! Stephanie and Frank chose the gorgeous Viansa Winery for theirs, and the couple agrees that “reality exceeded our expectations!” Volatile Photography captured every little detail, from the soft pink and cream blooms fashioned by Vanda Floral Design to the vibrant rose-topped cake from Fleur de Lisa. The romantic tented reception area, with lots of pink, white and gold details, is making us swoon. We are in ooh-la-la love with Stephanie’s hot pink Badgley Mischka shoes—the jewel-encrusted brooch on each one repeats the same detail as the edging of her Pronovias gown. It’s the little things that make a big day!

Belinda and Jim’s wedding is not only about as sophisticated and elegant as it gets, but it’s got an utterly fantastic pop of bold color throughout too! Bridesmaids in bright pink BCBG dresses, vibrant pink and red florals dripping with crystals by City of Commerce Flower, and glittering pink favors at each place setting, all set against their stunning venue Athenaeum at Caltech. The venue by itself is amazing, but then add in all these incredible details? I’m 100% smitten. Oh and add in the perfection that is Belinda’s Valentino heels? Make that 110%. Bravo to the whole team responsible for this gorgeous wedding and to Marvin Tsai for the beautiful photos!

We love this absolutely classic féte hailing from an illustrious museum in our nation’s capital today. This Washington DC wedding was photographed by one of our favorites, Lisa Blume, and it is elegant and so special and timeless. According to Kelly, she couldn’t take her mind off of the National Museum of Women in the Arts’s design and sweetly, how she could picture traipsing down the staircase to meet her dear dad at the bottom to walk her down the aisle to her beau Jamie (tears!). Speaking of tears, we had to mention this touching detail. Kelly needed to have her grandmothers there in some way, so to commemorate these wonderful women in her life, she shipped in two paintings from North Carolina of them and had her grandmother’s tea cup in her bridal suite. Endearingly, the teacup was a gift her grandmother gave to her sister for her wedding.

Sara and Chris’s romantic garden wedding at Hartley Botanica simply has us swooning! For starters, Sara’s White by Vera Wang gown–in a soft and sweet shade of pink–is nothing short of amazing! And with a backdrop like that, pastel roses in more shades of pink and lavender are a must; we adore the lush bouquet by Belle of the Ball Designs that Sara carried! Whimsical floral stationery from Minted further grounded the theme of this affair, where Sara and Chris took their vows beneath a canopy of curly branches, twinkling lights, and a jaw-dropping chandelier covered in lush blooms. Audrey and Patrick’s Arizona wedding at the Paradise Valley Country Club was inspired by the timeless elegance of Old Hollywood! Audrey chose a neutral color palette with lots of sparkle. We are head-over-heels for the mismatched metallic bridesmaids dresses and vintage accessories, and Audrey’s lace Allure Bridals gown, they are the epitome of glitz and glam! Beautiful florals from Petals and Lucy were housed in mercury glass vases and raised votive holders, which made the entire ballroom reception glisten. Irene and Bryan couldn’t have pulled off their crisp, classic wedding any better than they did, and we love these sweet images from Audra Wrisley Photography & Design that highlight the best of the day. For the ceremony at Epiphany Catholic Church, bridesmaids wore deep navy (Bryan’s favorite color) dresses from J.Crew alongside Irene in a lace-embellished Monique Lhuillier creation. All of the ladies carried soft flowers in tones of pink (Irene’s favorite color) by MultiFlor. Guests at the reception at Trump National Golf Club were treated to decor in the same shades of pink and cream. We love fun details like Irene’s pink glitter Kate Spade Charm heels and the cascading pink flowers down the side of the couple’s classic wedding cake. Such a lovely day—see it all in the gallery!

We are really loving the peach and black color palette of Carrie and Brandon’s Orange Park, Florida, wedding! Held outdoors at The Club Continental, the pastel and bold combination is unexpected and sophisticated. Soft flowers and black lace linens dot the event, created and styled by Aime Peterson Flowers & Event Design. The bridesmaids dresses from Belk are also lacy and black, while peach and cream bouquets soften the look. Carrie’s Wtoo gown from Victorian Rose Bridals features a jaw-dropping open back, and we love the punch of color from her blue satin shoes by Nina. The mix of elegant and rustic details in Chanda and David’s Dover, Florida, wedding is stunning perfection! The outdoor ceremony, held under trees draped with Spanish moss at Cross Creek Ranch, was filled with the classic touches we love about a garden wedding: ranunculus and spray roses in bouquets by Alta Fleura, mason jars filled with white blooms, and white lanterns hanging from branches. Chanda paired her mother’s antique lace cathedral-length veil with her Demetrios gown. Bridesmaids wore elegant designs from Bill Levkoff. The reception, held outdoors and in a barn on the ranch grounds, featured lots of sheer linens, twinkle lights, and personal touches. We especially love the lace linens and the stacked ruffled look of the icing on the cake from Alessi Bakeries. Delicious! Lauren and Stewart’s candlelit Nashville wedding and reception is so breathtaking! The drama of the flickering light during the ceremony at Scarritt-Bennett Center is softened by Lauren’s vintage-inspired lace dress from Bella Couture and pale pink bridesmaids dresses by The Dessy Group. Classic bouquets accented with cameo pins and pastel flowers, all by A Village of Flowers, add to the antique look of the reception at aVenue—we adore all of the lace, floating candles, and those fabulous chandeliers! Even the Jay Qualls cake gets a dose of old-school with vintage brooches festooned on the layers. Could Chelsea and David’s pink and white wedding be any prettier? Take a minute to gush over these images from Jade + Matthew Take Pictures and we think you’ll agree the answer is no! Chelsea and David tied the knot at The Olde Pink House in Savannah, Georgia, an elegant restaurant inside an 18th century mansion. Chelsea looked stunning in her lace Jenny Packham gown, which she accessorized with Badgley Mischka peep-toe pumps. But we think the soft pink invitation suite by La Paperie really set the tone for the day—elegant and understated, the stationery matched the decor, including the white centerpieces in mercury glass, which the bride and her family put together themselves! After a traditional Catholic church ceremony, Lauren and Jim headed to La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, California for an elegant reception. Flowers Annette Gomez and Adrianne Smith Floral Design double-teamed to create the lush blooms dotting the sanctuary and bouquets. We’re totally gaping at Lauren’s intricate lace gown with cap sleeves—it’s fabulous, as are these photos from Jennifer Dery Photography!

Sonoma Valley weddings are one of the few guarantees in life: always breathtaking! Kristy and Charles chose B.R. Cohn Winery & Olive Oil Company in Glen Ellen for their festivities, and they got a picture-perfect day, which shows clearly in the images from photographer Julie Mikos. The short, salmon-colored lace bridesmaids dresses—custom made by Eileen West—are sweet and romantic paired with small bouquets of dahlias, parrot tulips and small succulents from PoppyStone Floral Couture. Olive topiaries placed at the ceremony site and on reception tables gave a nod to the vineyard locale. Kristy’s simple but fabulous Romona Keveza Collection gown complemented the surroundings as well, a timeless but statement-making strapless dress topped with a Swarovski Crystal necklace that’s fit for Cinderella! Meritage Catering took care of all the delicious details, including a small cake topped with the most adorable bride, groom and dog we’ve ever seen—the perfect ending to a fairy tale day!

What do you get when you mix an ivy-covered manor, bushels of baby’s breath and garden roses, a beautiful bride and a dapper groom? This romantic wedding celebrating the marriage of Mirah and Brysen! Set at Greencrest Manor in Battle Creek, Michigan, this couple wanted their wedding to be an intimate affair that reflected their personalities. For Mirah, this meant incorporating feminine touches with lots of personal details. For Brysen, the gathering needed to have a timeless and tailored vibe. From the handmade flower arrangements of blush garden roses and baby’s breath to the linen suits with cream ties, this wedding was definitely a perfect mix of the duo! Mirah looked amazing in her Victoria Nicole gown, and we can’t wait for you to see the way her veil caught in the wind in the images by Amy Carroll below. Meghan and Michael enjoyed a two year engagement, during which time the bride planned every detail of their day to perfection. “We started collecting vintage mercury glass the second I said ‘yes,’” she said. Meghan Haney Designs would later use the vessels to create a vintage chic affair with soft white and pink blooms. Wente Vineyards was the stunning backdrop for this California wedding, where photographer Bret Cole snapped some incredible portraits outside the property’s wine caves. We adore the soft patterned linens from Napa Valley Linens and the couple’s creative use of wine barrels as cocktail tables! Do you have a favorite detail?

We can’t imagine a fairytale any lovelier than this wedding, set on the Gulf Coast at the Watercolor Inn & Resort. Elizabeth and Michael’s plan for a dream wedding came to life with ethereal tented reception lounges, complete with slipcovered seating and pale, elegant flowers clustered in mercury glass containers, for the “garden by the sea” feel the bride envisioned. Guests wore their sunglasses at night—wedding favors from Blue Soda Promo—as they partied to music by Total Package. We’re so glad Paul Johnson Photography was there to take such gorgeous pictures, because words can’t do this event justice! From their first kiss as husband and wife—even though their pastor forgot to pronounce them!—to Elizabeth’s stunning Monique Lhuillier gown, this wedding is absolute perfection!

Lauren and Jason discovered their venue while perusing a wedding magazine, and the moment they spotted Altos de Chavon in the Dominican Republic, they knew it would fit perfectly with Lauren’s dream of an old-world wedding. Her vision was brought to life in the form of a vintage lace gown, a traditional cigar roller, and a pink and gold reception with lovely details made only more romantic with the cobblestone streets and lush scenery of their venue. Gorgeous Santa Monica California is the setting for Taryn and John’s sophisticated soirée.
