Enchanting Villa del Sol d’Oro Wedding

Alexa and Virgil fell in love with the Tuscan style of Villa del Sol d’Oro in Sierra Madre, California, which was the charming backdrop of their romantic outdoor wedding. Allowing the venue and the spring season to serve as inspiration, they worked with Blushing Romance to create chic florals that enhanced the surroundings. Lush peonies, ranunculus, and anemones combined with dusty miller are soft and lovely; we love the light pinks paired with black bridesmaids dresses and romantic hair styles by Raluca Bucse. Alexa’s stunning Saison Blanche Couture gown from Mary Me Bridal is slightly modern, with a shirred tulle skirt that is simply divine! Alexa and Virgil remember the entire affair as the perfect day. “The atmosphere was phenomenal!” says the bride. “Everything went so smoothly that day, we were fully enjoying our wedding and soaking in very happy moment.” We are head over heels for these gorgeous images from Diana Marie Photography!

Belinda and Jim’s wedding is not only about as sophisticated and elegant as it gets, but it’s got an utterly fantastic pop of bold color throughout too! Bridesmaids in bright pink BCBG dresses, vibrant pink and red florals dripping with crystals by City of Commerce Flower, and glittering pink favors at each place setting, all set against their stunning venue Athenaeum at Caltech. The venue by itself is amazing, but then add in all these incredible details? I’m 100% smitten. Oh and add in the perfection that is Belinda’s Valentino heels? Make that 110%. United Kingdom residents Erin and Aaron chose the gorgeous La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, California for their candlelit, 80-guest destination wedding celebration. They loved the glamorous, old-world, old-Hollywood feel of the hotel and were inspired to create an intimate gathering filled with blush and ivory flowers, silver mercury candles and vases, and gorgeous lace accents. Mandy and Jim’s wedding was a wedding guest’s dream. Spectacular views, to-die-for florals, a gorgeous outdoor reception, and a fantastic favor to take home! Their florals by Maria Philbin were a true dream: phalaenopsis orchids, peonies, hydrangea, and roses to make up Mandy’s bouquet, and an aisle decorated with the most lush peonies, roses, and tulips! It’s enough to make one a bit woozy. A marvelous day for sure with fantastic photos by the lovely Julie Mikos!

When she pictured her wedding with Eric, Jodi envisioned rustic elegance—a blend of wood, lace and a touch of sparkle that would make a lasting impression on their guests. With Southern California’s elegant Walnut Grove ranch as their backdrop, the couple took on a multitude of do-it-yourself endeavors, as well as spent hours scouring Etsy for the perfect invitations, programs and favors. “I poured my heart into every little detail, and it ended up just how I had imagined it.,” the bride says. We’re head-over-heels for every detail ourselves, from the wooden centerpiece boxes etched with the couple’s initials to the pastel blooms that florist Regina Robertson arranged in each box. And those cakes! This couple had not one but three incredible, delectable whipped creations from Cindy Harber. We can only imagine they were as delicious as they look!

Old South charm and elegance abound at Historic Mankin Mansion in Richmond, Virginia, where Carly and Paul chose to host their wedding festivities. The bride stunned in a strapless Blue by Enzoani gown, and her elegant maids shined in short black bridesmaids dresses from Forever Yours International. Flower Girls crafted classic bouquets that included white and green hydrangeas—a Southern staple—and they carried the color palette over to the reception tent with white flowers set amid gold details and green linens. The three-tier confection from Cakes by Graham featured white flowers and green icing details to match the decor. Katie Stoops Photography masterfully captured both the emotions and details of the day, including the custom candy bars from For the Love of Chocolate, wrapped in gorgeous personalized labels by Jacqueline Weppner of Merci New York—the perfect sweet ending to an even sweeter day!

Pretty flowers, pale pink dresses, and an elegant outdoor venue… Laura and Steve’s Nashville wedding is garden party perfection! The details of their wedding truly couldn’t be prettier. They chose a palette of pale pink and mint green and selected hydrangea, peonies, and roses in arrangements by Enchanted Florist to decorate the outdoor gazebo at CJ’s off the Square. I love the paper flower escort cards and the gorgeous chandeliers but I can’t stop drooling over her amazing Louboutins! What a marvelous day with marvelous photos by Kristyn Hogan!

Lily and Bobby were married at the gorgeous Santaluz Club in San Diego. The venue provided lots of inspiration for them and their wedding planner, Thomas Bui, created a beautiful and romantic event with just a pinch of rustic thrown in. Any event that incorporates big fluffy peonies and succulents is for sure to be something I love and the florals by Adorations Botanical Artistry certainly did not disappoint. These photos by Vallentyne Photography are gorgeous and yet again make me long for my own California wedding!

It’s no wonder that classic style rules the day at Meghan and Aaron’s Chautauqua, New York, affair–after all, the wedding was held at The Hall of Philosophy at Chautauqua Institution, an education center and summer resort where Meghan’s family goes back generations. To set the tone for their day, the couple sent out vintage-style stationery designed by the groom, Aaron Fetter. Following the outdoor ceremony, where bridesmaids wore short pink Jenny Yoo Collection dresses that sweetly coordinated with hydrangea bouquets by Francesca’s Floral Design, guests headed to the resort’s Athenaeum Hotel for a laid-back reception that included a buttercream cake from The Cakery, plenty of dancing, and the release of paper sky lanterns, which lit up much the way Meghan did in her Watters gown! Courtney and Kael celebrated their big day at the Weyehauser Mansion in Tacoma, Washington. It was a beautiful and romantic event with just the right amount of vintage elegance. After the couple said “I do,” guests were escorted to the mansion’s veranda for cocktails and then back again to enjoy dinner al fresco in the garden. What a perfect outdoor location, complete with views overlooking the water! We’re smitten with all these gorgeous photos by the amazing Michèle M. Waite, and all the details that made Courtney and Kael’s big day so beautiful!

Jessica and Andrew’s wedding at Meadowood resort in Napa Valley was like every couple’s dream come true: gorgeous pale bouquets by Kathleen Deery Design; a gauzy, tiered-ruffle Vera Wang gown; and an all-white cake that hardly looks real from Perfect Endings. The breathtaking ceremony featured chairs wrapped in silk swags fastened with lush hydrangea-and-rose arrangements. Lisa Lefkowitz captured stunning details, like gray-blue silk tablecloths inside the reception tent, intimate vintage-inspired seating areas on the lawn, and the beautiful blue bridesmaids dresses that popped against all of the white and airy decor. We’re completely smitten and know you will be too!

Warm and elegant, Euri and John’s wedding at Pasadena’s The Athenaeum is pure romance!  Euri chose one of our favorite color palettes – soft ivory and peach, dusty pink, and pale gray -  and mixed in beautiful mercury glass containers and luxe gold linens on the gorgeous tabletops created by Lindy at Commerce Flowers.  Euri is a positively stunning bride in her custom lace gown from Monaco Bridal (that floaty skirt, I die!), and we are head-over-heels in love with the fabulous images from one of our favorites, Erin Hearts Court!

If Diana and Danny’s everyday lives are even half as chic as their Southern California wedding, they’re definitely some of the most stylish people ever! This beautiful couple was married at the Cravens Estate in Pasadena surrounded by friends and family from all over. There are many details about their wedding that I love (like Diana’s amazing shoes and accessories) but once I saw their colorful florals I was smitten! Rooted Harmony blended rich textures and colors to create bright and elegant arrangements that include peonies, roses, wax flower, astilbe, eucalyptus, and even succulents! Joyce and Lucas’ bright and colorful wedding was held in the gardens of the Allied Arts Guild amongst thousands of flowers. The grounds of this venue are truly gorgeous but what’s even more amazing is that they donate a portion of each wedding’s fees to support chronically ill and physically challenged children! So great. The couple loves Scrabble, so they incorporated the game throughout their day in table numbers, signs, and the bride even played a game while she was getting ready in the morning. Married at the beautiful The Morton Arboretum outside Chicago, Ashley and Jake’s summer wedding was beautifully natural and simply elegant. White hydrangea and lisianthus were mixed with textured greenery in arrangements by Hinsdale Flower Shop. Ashley chose several of her vendors through Etsy, giving their wedding a sweet, crafty feel. From the beautiful trees of the venue, perfectly fresh florals, and the tangible adoration between Ashley and Jake, these wonderful photos by Simply Jessie Photography are full of life and love!

I’m pretty sure if I was still planning my own nuptials, Walker and Scott’s gorgeous Sonoma winery wedding would be at the top of my inspiration list. Reflecting the couple’s love of wine country, the event was fresh, elegant, and romantic. Stunning roses, hydrangeas, and orchids decorated Mayacama in a palette of soft peaches, creams, and bright greens. Guests dined under olive trees that were dotted with sparkly hanging votives as the sun set. If I were to describe Lindsey and Dan’s wedding in 3 words, they would be magical, elegant, and glamorous. Lindsey is positively stunning in her stunning Monique Lhuillier gown, and you can’t get much more glamorous and elegant than their venue, the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix. Oh, and the magical part? The breathtaking flowers by White House Flowers. Color, color everywhere! As always, the ladies from Outstanding Occasions created a flawless event and Melissa Jill Photography captured absolutely amazing images – get ready to fall in love!

Frances and Jared wanted their wedding to feel more like a festive dinner party than a formal reception. Unfussy garden meets shabby chic, Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona del Mar was an amazing place to host the event. It was clean and elegant and add in beautiful personal details like a stunning Ketubah and family-made chuppah and I’m always sold. I love the classic florals by LaVonne’s Florist and of course you can never go wrong with traditional engraved Crane’s wedding invitations. Ashleigh Taylor did a gorgeous job capturing the day!

Though the setting may be in Southern California, the Villa Del Sol D’Oro transports us to Tuscany with its romantic European estate feel. Sweetest Love Events designed an elegant outdoor soiree with a beautiful mix of vintage elements and muted tones. Sibyl Sophia Floral Design created a showstopping bouquet and pastel garden-style arrangements for the alfresco reception and sweetheart tables, whose buttery tones echoed the villa’s graceful exterior. The stylish couple embraced the glamour with a sophisticated pale dove gray Willowby by Watters gown from Mary Me Bridal and classic tuxedo from The Black Tux . Romantic and vintage with a pop of color is what Kate and Anthony were looking to accomplish through their Boca Raton wedding, and these sweet images from Mi Amore Foto show us they did just that! The stunning Italian-esque venue of The Addison provided the romance the couple desired for the day, while roses in shades of cream, pink, and red and vintage-style details from Daniel Events took care of the flowers and pretty styling; Grace Eurglunes of The Addison helped finalize all the lovely details. Punchy coral and blush pink bridesmaids dresses from Nordstrom brought in the pops of color, which were perfect against the outdoor Mediterranean backdrop and also alongside Kate’s lace Jim Hjelm gown from Blue Sky Bridal. She accented her gown with a blue hairpiece and Tiffany blue Cole Haan shoes, a detail we adore! Whimsical stationery by Minted and a sparkling cake from The Addison were just two more of the gorgeous details of this day. “It was absolutely perfect,” says Kate. “From the festival lights strung across the giant banyan trees, to people getting down on the dance floor to the great music.” Most of all, Kate and Anthony agree it ended exactly as they wanted it: by being married to their best friend!
