French-Inspired Rustic Wedding

When she pictured her wedding with Eric, Jodi envisioned rustic elegance—a blend of wood, lace and a touch of sparkle that would make a lasting impression on their guests. With Southern California’s elegant Walnut Grove ranch as their backdrop, the couple took on a multitude of do-it-yourself endeavors, as well as spent hours scouring Etsy for the perfect invitations, programs and favors. “I poured my heart into every little detail, and it ended up just how I had imagined it.,” the bride says. We’re head-over-heels for every detail ourselves, from the wooden centerpiece boxes etched with the couple’s initials to the pastel blooms that florist Regina Robertson arranged in each box. And those cakes! This couple had not one but three incredible, delectable whipped creations from Cindy Harber. We can only imagine they were as delicious as they look!

Kelly and Jim’s wedding was a day that their guests will no doubt never forget! Although their Laguna Beach wedding at Montage was breathtakingly gorgeous with the most perfect details imaginable, what truly makes this wedding beautiful is how much thought they put into creating a day that was special for their family and friends. The event was filled with family traditions and special touches like an “I love you” chant at the ceremony and men’s and women’s poppers at each place setting! It’s sentiments like these that make a wedding special and truly memorable! But we’d be remiss if we didn’t also discuss the gorgeous floral arrangements by Tic Tock Couture Florals. We can’t get enough of those draping orchids flowing from both the the ceremony and reception arrangements and all of the stunning photos from Leigh Miller Photography!

Jessica and Andrew’s wedding at Meadowood resort in Napa Valley was like every couple’s dream come true: gorgeous pale bouquets by Kathleen Deery Design; a gauzy, tiered-ruffle Vera Wang gown; and an all-white cake that hardly looks real from Perfect Endings. The breathtaking ceremony featured chairs wrapped in silk swags fastened with lush hydrangea-and-rose arrangements. Lisa Lefkowitz captured stunning details, like gray-blue silk tablecloths inside the reception tent, intimate vintage-inspired seating areas on the lawn, and the beautiful blue bridesmaids dresses that popped against all of the white and airy decor. We’re completely smitten and know you will be too!

There are no words to truly express how head-over-heels we are with Julie and Sam’s wedding. Not only does it have the most gorgeous color palette, but the florals by Chestnut & Vine are also nothing short of phenomenal. White clematis, astilbe, raspberries, succulents, dahlias, and among several others, orchids? Amazing. Watercolor stationery and hand painted signs by Julie Song Ink? Melt. Colorful hanging cranes? Stop it. All of this and a beautiful couple who absolutely beam with adoration for each other? We’ll be swooning over this wedding for quite a while! Bravo to the incredible team of vendors who put it together and to the incomparable Jose Villa for capturing these stunning images!

Gabrielle and Chris wanted to get married somewhere that felt enchanted and once they saw the natural beauty and elegance of Meadowood Napa Valley they knew it was the right place! Their outdoor ceremony was held in front of a marvelous birch altar adorned with hanging sweet pea and although they did not have a bridal party, their adorable puppy, Lola, acted as their ring bearer. The flowers by Cherries Flowers are the epitome of natural elegance and included garden roses, ranunculus, sweet peas, jasmine, and astilbe. I’m absolutely in love with their unique escort cards: a sparkling display of natural crystals and gemstones wrapped in copper wire and set upon a bed of moss. Each table had an explanation of the spiritual meaning of its stone, the head table being Amethyst which symbolized “pure and true emotional love.” Enjoy these incredible photos by the amazing Gia Canali!

Holly and Mike’s wedding was simple and classic, just like the love they have for each other. Their venue, the Malibou Lake Club, is already gorgeous, so they chose clean and fresh white florals by Happy Flowers for the day. Check out her stunning bouquet cascading with roses, orchids, and vintage brooches! So fantastic. The two of them traveled for 6 months before the wedding so they incorporated lots of vintage travel details into the day by using luggage tags as escort cards and mixing in globes and postcards into the decor. I love how fresh and classic their wedding is and of course all these beautiful photos from Hazelnut Photography!

Pam and Chase’s wedding was elegant without being too fussy and woodsy without being too rustic. Fiddlehead Designs seamlessly blended classic roses and orchids with more woodsy elements like birch to create gorgeous florals for the event. I admit that I often get caught up in looking at the details of a wedding (the flowers, venue, dresses) but in these photos by VUE Photography it’s obvious to see how ecstatic Pam, Chase, and all their family and friends were on their wedding day. A glowing couple, beautiful florals, and a wonderful Appalachian Mountain venue, what’s not to love about this gorgeous North Carolina wedding?

Jenni wanted to be married under giant trees so when she and Steve came across Orcutt Ranch in West Hills, California, they decided it was their ideal location! It was a classic wedding in shades of purple with rustic touches of burlap and natural twine. A fun detail that Jenni included throughout their wedding was buttons! Buttons were used everywhere from their escort cards, to their custom cake stand, to centerpieces, bouquets, and all the paper goods. I adore the richly gorgeous florals by Jenny B Floral Design. All the photos by APictureLife Photography are beautiful and the ones of Jenni and Steve under all the trees are simply divine!

Lily and Bobby were married at the gorgeous Santaluz Club in San Diego. The venue provided lots of inspiration for them and their wedding planner, Thomas Bui, created a beautiful and romantic event with just a pinch of rustic thrown in. Any event that incorporates big fluffy peonies and succulents is for sure to be something I love and the florals by Adorations Botanical Artistry certainly did not disappoint. These photos by Vallentyne Photography are gorgeous and yet again make me long for my own California wedding!

Heather and Jonathan’s Leesburg, Virginia wedding is overflowing with lovely details inspired by their love of the outdoors.  The color palette of cream, green, sky blue and brown echoes the beautiful setting of Raspberry Plain, and the couple infused many personal elements into the interfaith celebration, including a chuppah decorated with a crocheted cover created by Jonathan’s mother and handmade by Heather’s father from trees found on their lakeside cabin, smooth river stones as escort cards, and and ribbons streaming from the trees.  Vicki from My Simple Details made sure the day went off without a hitch, the gorgeous florals were created by Holly Heidler Chapple, and all of the lovely images are courtesy of Three Lights Photography.

We are simply dazzled by Devin and Ryan’s gorgeous Napa Valley wedding, held at a lush private estate in the heart of wine country! Lush spring blooms, olive branches, and details in lovely peach and green hues make this affair classic and pretty, all thanks to the expertise of Napa Valley Custom Events by Sharon Burns. Even the invitations from Foglio Press incorporate the olive leaf theme. Devin’s romantic strapless gown and filmy peach bridesmaids dresses are lovely at the outdoor ceremony, which was also punctuated with peonies and other exotic blooms from Julie Stevens Design. Sara and Chris’s romantic garden wedding at Hartley Botanica simply has us swooning! For starters, Sara’s White by Vera Wang gown–in a soft and sweet shade of pink–is nothing short of amazing! And with a backdrop like that, pastel roses in more shades of pink and lavender are a must; we adore the lush bouquet by Belle of the Ball Designs that Sara carried! Whimsical floral stationery from Minted further grounded the theme of this affair, where Sara and Chris took their vows beneath a canopy of curly branches, twinkling lights, and a jaw-dropping chandelier covered in lush blooms. Don’t miss a single detail in these stunning images by Valentina Glidden Fine Art Photography–we can’t stop staring!

There is little that’s more stunning than a gold-and-orange hued autumn wedding, and Jenny and Brian’s affair at the Silver Lake Lodge at Deer Valley Resort doesn’t disappoint! Outdoors surrounded by Park City, Utah, mountains, the couple exchanged vows beneath a chuppah. Jenny wore an embroidered Heidi Elnora gown and, while she chose to keep things simple with no bridesmaids, the couple’s lab donned an orange bow tie and stood in for the occasion. Orange roses and calla lilies mixed with yellow and green florals and fall berries by Orchid Dynasty were rich and colorful in Jenny’s bouquet and on reception tables. Fiery blooms graced the cake from Deer Valley Resort, set amidst a gorgeous fall-inspired reception indoors, with flawless decor orchestrated by Soiree Productions. All of the images from Pepper Nix are simply breathtaking!

Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, New York, is the perfect mix of rustic nature and understated sophistication, and a gorgeous setting for Brooke and Scott’s elegant candlelit wedding! Our eyes are drawn to the criss-cross pattern on the gown of Brooke’s ball skirt and her patent blush colored Christian Louboutins! We adore the minimalist flowers in exchange for romantic candlelight and shimmering mercury glass, styled by You + Me*. Poppies & Posies added a few floral touches for the outdoor Jewish ceremony—complete with a handmade chuppah by Roy Kushner of Artisan Chuppah—and barn-style reception, which featured an absolute sea of candles on the stunning tabletops! Our mouths are watering over the one-of-a-kind wedding cake from Momofuku Milk Bar, which stands out from typical white confections. The ever-fabulous Michael Falco of Christian Oth Studio captured all of the amazing details of this day—see them all in the gallery!

There’s something about California weddings that are so laid-back yet beautifully sophisticated! Becca and Solomon’s fete in San Luis Obispo is so pretty, thanks to lush bouquets and dozens and dozens of white hydrangeas from Flowers by Fluidbloom. Taupe bridesmaids dresses are natural and pretty against the landscape. And we can’t get past the fabulous flower on Becca’s Melissa Sweet gown—it’s fabulous! The Old Florida setting of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club was the ideal spot for Elisha and Palmer’s wedding guests to come together for a fun, get-to-know-you weekend. The couple chose to hold their ceremony on a Friday, so everyone could enjoy laid-back time on the beach after the festivities. After Elisha walked down the aisle in an Ann Taylor gown—attended by bridesmaids in gray, halter-style J.Crew dresses and flanked by lush peach and yellow spring arrangements by Liz Stewart Floral Design—the intimate group headed to the club, where they danced to the music of Diggin’ Rhythm N’ Brass and feasted on a gorgeous cake from Beaches Pastry. The photos from Brooke Images are breathtaking—we can only imagine how fabulous this wedding was in person!

For their Lake Tahoe nuptials, Kristi and Don really wanted one last snowfall to hit the ground, so they spent the wedding day eve wishing and hoping for nature to cooperate. “It snowed heavily the night before and cleared up the afternoon of the wedding, which made it perfect for an outside celebration under the trees!” says Kristi.  Chic gray bridesmaids dresses from Priscilla of Boston were an elegant complement to Kristi’s Rivini gown. Art in Bloom Floral Wedding Designs created white, peach, and green bouquets and reception arrangements that reflected the rustic setting of the The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe while still maintaining a sophisticated vibe. We’re in awe of the beautiful photos from Sloan Photographers—the gorgeous light reflects the glow in this happy couple’s eyes!

Twin Peaks Ranch was the setting for this rustic, elegant affair, captured to perfection by Erin Hearts Court. This Southern California fete is a 2012 favorite of the photographers’ and after viewing the jaw-dropping details, coordinated by Bash, Please, it’s one of our favorites, too! The soft, flowing floral arrangements—also designed by Bash, Please—are oh-so-romantic, while the al fresco lounge made of chic furniture pieces from Found Vintage Rentals has seriously stolen our hearts! We love the sweet-and-simple menu scrolled across a mirror, and are falling for the bridesmaids’ soft grey dresses from J.Crew. We know it’s hard to pick—but do you have a favorite detail from this gorgeous wedding?

Sonoma Valley weddings are one of the few guarantees in life: always breathtaking! Kristy and Charles chose B.R. Cohn Winery & Olive Oil Company in Glen Ellen for their festivities, and they got a picture-perfect day, which shows clearly in the images from photographer Julie Mikos. The short, salmon-colored lace bridesmaids dresses—custom made by Eileen West—are sweet and romantic paired with small bouquets of dahlias, parrot tulips and small succulents from PoppyStone Floral Couture. Olive topiaries placed at the ceremony site and on reception tables gave a nod to the vineyard locale. Kristy’s simple but fabulous Romona Keveza Collection gown complemented the surroundings as well, a timeless but statement-making strapless dress topped with a Swarovski Crystal necklace that’s fit for Cinderella! Meritage Catering took care of all the delicious details, including a small cake topped with the most adorable bride, groom and dog we’ve ever seen—the perfect ending to a fairy tale day!

File Kelly and Trevor’s Sonoma, California, wedding under “Exactly What to Do,” because it doesn’t get much better than this! A sophisticated celebration at Cline Cellars captured the essence of what the couple envisioned—one big, fun party for their friends and family. Understated Champagne-colored bridesmaids dresses allowed Kelly’s Ines Di Santo gown to take center stage beneath a canopy of trees at the outdoor ceremony. Pale peach, pink, and ivory bouquets and centerpieces by Violetta sit pretty against a rustic setting that included plenty of vineyard greenery and wine barrels. We can never get enough of creative, personalized details, like monogrammed Mr. and Mrs. chair covers, a whimsical bride-and-groom bird topper on the confection from Forget-Me-Not-Cakes, and—oh!—that fabulous vintage getaway car.
