Bold + Pretty New England Wedding

Jessica and Brett’s effortlessly elegant New England waterfront wedding is perfect in so many ways! The setting of Belle Mer in Newport, Rhode Island, is idyllic, and soft colors whisper romance. Strapless blush bridesmaids dresses by Flair Bridesmaids are barely a shade deeper than Jessica’s scalloped Modern Trousseau gown; the texture of it reminds us of gentle waves. Keeping with the gauzy feel of the scheme, flowers from Greenlion Design in shades of white and pink sprout from bright green stems that acknowledge the surrounding landscape. Every image from Erin McGinn is making us swoon! We adore the arbor that frames the water for Jessica and Brett’s ceremony, and the earthy wood touches at their mostly pink and white reception make everything feel a bit less precious. Also to die for: the square wedding cake created by the staff at Belle Mer, which turned out to be the perfect spot for the couple’s classic but memorable affair! While planning their destination wedding, Tory and Alex were graduating college and in the process of relocating… talk about a lot going on! The couple chose Newport, Rhode Island as their wedding destination because as a young girl Tory, who is from Boston, would visit Newport with her parents and always imagined herself married there, by the ocean.  Enlisting the help of Stephanie Frazier-Grimm of Couture Parties, they planned a whirlwind weekend of activities including a wine and beer tasting, bridal luncheon, welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and a post-wedding brunch!  The wedding at Belle Mer was all about organic chic – calla lilies, birch, and a gorgeous gray and white color palette to complement the elegant ballroom.  I love the simple elegance of the event and all of the beautiful images from Armor & Martel!

Kiera and Jay’s wedding feels like a warm spring day, thanks to deep lavender bridesmaids dresses by Priscilla of Boston and a gorgeous Arizona landscape at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa. Adding to the seasonal feel are lush flower garlands and petite fuchsia and purple bouquets by Flora Bella. We love how every detail is perfectly coordinated, thanks to Outstanding Occasions. Modern embellishments on the classic silhouette of Kiera’s Melissa Sweet gown makes it a timeless show-stopper, and we adore the bow sash! Beverly and Nelson went for all-out glamour when planning their oceanside nuptials at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in California! This affair is made complete by the hundreds of blush, cream, and pink blooms fashioned by Nisie’s Enchanted Florist. To complement the sweet hues, bridesmaids wore lavender one-shoulder dresses from Banana Republic. Beverly’s Lazaro gown is hands-down one of the most stunning we’ve ever laid eyes on, with ruffles and beading and details for days! The whimsical jewel-encrusted butterflies adoring her Aruna Seth shoes are fun and elegant. Platinum Weddings by Kerrie assisted Beverly and Nelson so that the day was everything they hoped for, and after looking at these photos from Sarah K. Chen Photography, we wouldn’t change a thing! Kaitlyn and John’s Phoenix wedding, planned by Outstanding Occasions, was pretty pink perfection! Florals by Petal Pusher really knocked it out of the park, from the breathtaking ceremony canopy and lush bouquets, the stunning centerpieces and a sweetheart table almost completely draped in a blanket of flowers, to the petite wrapped bundles of flowers for guests as they picked up their escort cards! We absolutely love the touch of bling for the reception, it’s the perfect amount of sparkle for this fabulous fête. Ana and Andre’s Miami wedding just may be the zenith of all elegant, sophisticated South Beach bashes—it also happens to be one of the photographer’s favorite affairs of 2012. Held at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, the Jewish ceremony featured traditions such as a chuppah—festooned with lush peach, green, and cream blooms by Parrish Designs—breaking the glass, and the hora. Bridesmaids shimmered by candlelight in deep metallic gray dresses from Amsale, while Ana’s Rivini gown was accented by an ethereal mantilla veil. Some of our absolute favorite details are the couple’s vintage getaway car, and the traditional English fruitcake made by Ana’s family. The Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills was the perfect venue for Julie and Jonathan’s dream wedding! With the help of their wedding planner, Catherine of CCL Weddings, the couple designed a private outdoor ceremony (featuring the couple’s adorable pup, Nala) and elegant indoor reception with lush and romantic florals by Heavenly Blooms. Luxury and personality came together perfectly, with champagne escort cards that doubled as favors and a cocktail hour snack of beef jerky, the groom’s favorite! We are obsessed with every fun detail in the beautiful images from Closer to Love Photography!

Several months ago we shared Maryam and Josh’s Salt Lake City garden wedding, and today we have the huge honor of revealing Maryam’s gorgeous sister Mondi’s wedding to her handsome groom Cory! The sister’s unique personalities shine through in their choice of wedding, and Mondi’s is all about sophisticated glamour. Their destination wedding was set at The St. Regis Deer Valley, surrounded by mountains, and the couple worked with Allison Baddley of La Fete Floral & Events to plan and design an Old-Hollywood meets glamorous-rustic wedding. The ceremony provided the perfect occasion to incorporate Mondi’s Persian heritage. The Sofreh Aghd—a beautiful spread of items meant to symbolize what the couple wished for in their marriage—took center stage, and a Persian rug graced the ceremony aisle. The reception entrance featured a unique seating chart display: a 10 foot moss wall showcasing a wall of mirrors directing guests to their seats. Tables featured a mix of richly-colored arrangements (how gorgeous are those burgundy orchids?) and swaths of greenery echoing the surroundings. We are completely smitten with this entire day, and adore each image from Heather Nan Photography!

Negar and Carl’s Vancouver wedding is full of love and togetherness! The first event of their wedding weekend was a night of culture, color and dance, followed by a classic, intimate and romantic wedding two days later. Carl proposed to Negar at the Pan Pacific Hotel, so it was only natural that they return for their wedding. Carl’s sister also happens to be Negar’s best friend and she along with Negar’s sister served as the maidens of honor. Art of the Party transformed the elegant ballroom with a mixture of luxurious linens, mercury glass candle holders, and a mix of high and low arrangements from Sunflower Florist. Perfectly Flawless made sure the day was—of course—perfectly flawless, and we absolutely adore these images from Melissa Gidney!

Chicago is glorious during the summertime, and Alissa and Jeff made the most of the stunning surroundings by holding their June nuptials at River Roast, set along the Chicago River. Sheila from Ipomea Floral Design accented the modern space with lanterns and candlelight, for a soft and romantic feel. Bouquets of blush and white peonies with juliet garden roses accented Alissa’s gorgeous Alvina Valenta gown from Bella Bianca, and her ladies’ flowy Donna Morgan dresses. The couple and their wedding party visited some of the city’s most iconic locations, from Buckingham Fountain to Michigan Ave, where Kina Wicks Photography captured these lovely images. We are smitten!

We are are simply in love with this stunning Italian wedding from Cinzia Bruschini! As if the country alone isn’t romantic enough, the beautiful setting of Fattoria Casamora combined with lush and lovely florals from Jardin Divers takes this gorgeous affair over the top. We can’t get enough of the flower hair wreaths adorning bridesmaids in bold, colorful dresses. The bride’s Celestina Agostino gown is a vision of vintage-style lace and elegance. Dripping candles and olive branches add local Tuscan flavor at the outdoor reception. We’re swooning over each and every one of these jaw-dropping images!

“Our wedding day started off with the nikah ceremony at our mosque in the morning, a solemn and sacred social contract between the bride and groom in the Islamic tradition,” says bride Irfana of her wedding to Arif. Afterward, guests headed to Canoe restaurant in Atlanta for cocktail hour and Indian wedding traditions beneath a tent set up in the gardens. For the first ceremony, Irfana wore a beautiful sari from Motifz Signature Collection, changing into a knee-length lace dress by Anna Sui from BHLDN for the reception. Soft, lush florals by Heather Jones of Tulip graced tables; Irfana’s bouquet featured pastel blooms dotted with succulents. We adore the attention to detail here: vintage cigar boxes on tables, elaborate henna tattoos for Irfana and family members, and the floral hair wreath she wore for both ceremonies. Amy Arrington Photography did a magnificent job capturing all of this elegance!

We are head over heels for the soft, elegant touches in Elyse and Matt’s classic DC wedding! Bridesmaids in shades of pale blue and taupe from Twobirds were perfectly complemented by lush blooms created by Katie Martin and her team at Elegance & Simplicity. Oh how we love the fluffy blush dahlias and mauve astilbe! After a traditional ceremony at the Cosmos Club, guests moved to the Fairfax Hotel, where they danced the night away to tunes from Nightsong. We just adore every classic New England detail in Erica and Shane’s Newport, Rhode Island, wedding. From the waterfront venue of Castle Hill Inn to the breathtaking views and lush white flowers from Greenlion Weddings dotting every part of the landscape, we are swooning over these images from Melissa Robotti Photography. An elegant chuppah on the lawn, covered in white orchids and hydrangeas, is stunning in front of the gray Atlantic waters. Erica is beyond lovely in a Vera Wang gown and veil, paired with a vintage style crystal hair pin we adore. The couple’s pugs participated in the ceremony, dressed in blue gingham bow ties from Silly Buddy. We’re loving the cream and blush floral arrangements set in vintage wooden boxes at the tent reception, interspersed with earthy green lemon leafs in tall vases. Romantic blooms steal the show here, including heirloom roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, hydrangeas, orchids, and sweet pea tendrils. Don’t miss the adorable cake topper—created by Sian Keegan—of Erica and Shane’s pups. It’s one of our favorite details of this gorgeous affair!

Rachel and Dominic wanted the look of their Pennsylvania wedding to be simple and beautiful but not over the top, and we love the blend of modern and vintage touches they used! The couple’s ceremony was held at John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove beneath a chuppah festooned with a garland of bottles filled with florals from Love ‘n Fresh Flowers. We’re also swooning over Rachel’s hand-tied bouquet and its lace accents! Lovely pastel colors continue in bridesmaids dresses by Amsale that are the color of pink cotton candy, the perfect backdrop for Rachel’s Matthew Christopher gown from Van Cleve Wedding Pavilion. Christina Lupo of The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants ensured the day was flawless, from ceremony to the reception at Phoenixville Foundry. There, vintage touches like old books and faux antique table numbers created a romantic vibe that we adore! More pink in the form of sweet sugar flowers grace the pretty cake by Bredenbeck’s. Fun moment of the night: When guests lifted Rachel and Dominic high above the crowd during the traditional hora! We are in love with each and every detail of Kyla and Andrew’s elegant Hawaii wedding! The sprawling great lawn of Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, The Lodge at Koele was the setting for their soiree, which featured stunning, organic ivory florals by Yvonne Design. Although mists started to roll in during the ceremony, the weather surprise created a truly magical setting for the gorgeous images by Rebecca Arthurs Photography. Kyla is absolutely radiant in her Lazaro gown, and her bridesmaids are ever-so-chic in their own black dresses. We adore how the neutral color palette of ivory and green allows the natural setting to shine, and couldn’t be more enchanted by all of the images in the gallery!

What a picture-perfect Los Angeles wedding Lynn and Steve had! We’d never guess this pretty pink and white affair is set in the heart of LA, with soft blooms from Stems Florist festooning the setting at Maguire Gardens, where the ceremony was held, and Cafe Pinot, site of the reception! Our friends at Minted contributed elegant stationery, and Caroline of Serenity Events helped Lynn and Steve coordinate the day of the wedding. Bridesmaids wore short light pink dresses from J.Crew, the perfect complement to Lynn’s stunning Monique Lhuillier gown. And we can’t leave out Steve, handsome in a Black by Vera Wang suit! We love the mod look of Lynn’s silver snakeskin Jimmy Choo heels, too. The outdoor soiree offered plenty of great natural light for Esther Sun to photograph it perfectly. We hear at the end of the night, Lynn and Steve surprised guests with a visit from the In-N-Out Burger Cookout Trailer—a delicious finish to the flawless event! See it all in the gallery!

Christina and Sunil’s Vancouver wedding, held at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, feels like cotton candy, and is just as sweet! Lots of soft pink and white details, in bouquets from Hilary Miles Flowers Ltd. and stationery from Love by Phoebe, along with other frothy touches from Filosophi Event Planning & Design and Sweet Beginnings Wedding Consulting and Event Planners, make this soiree one to remember. The filmy images from Melissa Gidney portray a fairy tale of a day, complete with elegant gray bridesmaids dresses from Frocks and a stunning mod bridal gown by Lazaro. Our favorite reception detail may just be the pink ombre wedding cake from Sweet Thea—such a fun idea! We just can’t stop staring at these romantic images—see the full wedding in the gallery!

Lowcountry weddings don’t get more sophisticated than Suzanne and Stephen’s! The Southern setting of Lowndes Grove Plantation is perfect for an outdoor ceremony and elegant tent reception, with pink and cream florals by Stems and styling by A Charleston Bride. Suzanne’s lace Allure Couture gown, with a satin-and-rhinestone sash and V-cut back, is chic with a slight vintage feel. A pretty but neutral color scheme, like blush Wtoo bridesmaids dresses and gold and cream ceremony details, are beautiful in these images from Richard Ellis Photographer. The placement of a lovely confection from Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal is just right at the front of the tent swathed in blush and cream linens and adorned with luxe gold chandeliers. Alicia and Justin decided on an intimate Maui destination wedding for their nuptials, and the entire fete is just stunning! These images from Monique Feil Photography are breathtaking, showing Alicia as a gorgeous bride in her Oscar de la Renta gown and Justin beaming in a Gucci suit. Held outdoors at Haiku Mill, every detail of the event was meticulously attended by Stephanie Shepherd of Pua Le’a & Co. at Haiku Mill. Bella Grace Flowers Wedding & Event Design created lush white arrangements, first in Alicia’s rose bouquet and second with hydrangea and rose centerpieces lining the reception tables. Because the wedding was so small, Alicia didn’t have bridesmaids, but the couple instead live streamed the ceremony with help from Live Maui Webcasts. We love the classic monogrammed cake from Ghiselani Designer Wedding Cakes, as well as the stationery and logo design by Momental Designs. Good things come in small packages—or in this case, events—and we’re swooning over this one!
