We are completely in love with Debbie and Kevin’s fun Huntington Beach engagement session! The California light is simply lovely, and the love that Debbie and Kevin have for each other shines through in every image. We love Debbie’s beautiful cobalt dress paired with Kevin’s dapper navy suit, and their quick change into more relaxed beachy-toned wear, too! Connie and Ted’s adorable engagement session is so unexpected for Los Angeles—there’s no trace of the city, just lots of hearty succulents, a little potting soil, and so much love! These two genuinely enjoy playing and hanging out together, and it’s so clear in these fab photos from Caroline Tran. We’re sure that the couple who gardens together, stays together!

How fun is this safari-style engagement session from Esther Sun Photography? Jenny and Andrew headed out to Safari Barn in Winchester, California, for a laid-back day with camels, zebras, horses, and goats! We love their chic look against the rustic barns and quiet pastures. We think Erin and Constantine are absolutely adorable, and so is their engagement session shot by Troy Grover Photographers! The couple started with oysters at Shuck Oyster Bar in Costa Mesa, California, before wandering around The OC Mart Mix laughing, smiling, kissing, and just being in love. What a wonderful way to celebrate their engagement!

Nicole and Jackie’s engagement session may be one of the sweetest we’ve ever seen! Captured by Adrienne Gunde Photography around Los Feliz and in Griffith Park, the couple smiled and cuddled outdoors in the California sunshine, and their love simply radiates in these images. So pretty!

Nikki and Matt look so glamorous in these fun images of their engagement session with Hazelnut Photography! The cool blue vintage Mercedes convertible ups the old-school feel, and stops around Pasadena, California, add to the classic romantic vibe. Isn’t Nikki gorgeous in her navy and ivory classic dresses? We just adore each and every little bit of their sweet day!

How adorable are Nicole and Joey? The newly engaged couple wanted to incorporate their love of music into their photo session with Brandon Kidd Photography, so they headed to the largest record store in the world—Amoeba Music in Los Angeles—to snap some fun shots before heading out to the streets of downtown for a few more pictures. We love the laid-back California vibe of this hip engagement session!

Laura and Tim’s country-chic engagement photos make our hearts smile! Ken Kienow photographed the fab couple on Tim’s family ranch in Paso Robles, California, just hanging out, playing with their dogs, and lounging inside an amazing vintage-style tent. These pictures are utterly romantic, and we love both the couple and their pups!

This beautiful home is tucked away in the Hollywood Hills, and the secluded setting is just perfect for Janet and James, who only have eyes for each other! The beautiful Caroline Tran captured the couple in this intimate setting—cooking, reading, and just enjoying life. We just adore these lovely images!

Who knew that a game of Sorry could be so stylish? But if this insanely fabulous engagement shoot by Ken Kienow is any clue, it seems that anything Pamela and Troy do is super stylish! The Victorian was the perfect Santa Monica venue for this cool California session, too, with its beautiful outdoor courtyard and dramatic indoor bar. From playing board games to enjoying a cocktail and lounging around with a good book,  this couple is gorgeous, cool and clearly completely smitten with each other!

Picture the most perfect afternoon hike with your love: Is it complete with cuddling beneath the trees, wading in a babbling brook and then resting with a glass of wine and a friendly game of Scrabble? Sounds divine, doesn’t it? Well, the insanely talented Erin Hearts Court brings us an engagement session that is exactly that! We are so in love with this couple–not to mention her amazing dress! Every single image gives us the warm and fuzzies!

Could there be a better way to celebrate two creative, vibrant, crazy-about-each other actors than with a colorful and fun engagement session in Chinatown? We certainly don’t think so! In fact, we couldn’t dream of a more perfect engagement shoot setting for Alex and Lawrence-Michael, a San Francisco couple who love theater and met while performing in the same musical. Alex (donning the fabulous bow tie) and Lawrence-Michael (rocking the beard) have an urban, preppy and modern style that comes to life in their adorable engagement photos. The bright murals, lantern-lined streets and painted brick backdrops are the cherry on top of this happy photo session, and we thank Tinywater Photography for sharing these amazing images!

Hayley and Luke were a bit nervous when meeting up with Marianne and Joe of Marianne Wilson Photography for their engagement photos, but once the couple sipped on milkshakes at a local diner in Santa Monica, they were all smiles! The gorgeous California surfer town could only be made prettier by the glow of these two, who went from diner to beach to picnic to get these images that effortlessly capture their low-key So-Cal personalities. Their dreamy eyes give them away—we know true love when we see it!

How appropriate that the backdrop for this engagement session is the happiest place on earth! Brittney and David—both Disney animators—had a pretty idyllic setting for their photo shoot with Matt and Angie of Sloan Photographers. You can’t help but smile when scrolling through these whimsical images—these are two people who know how to have fun together. We love that the personality of this creative couple comes shining through as bright as the California sun!

After getting engaged during a hot air balloon ride over Sonoma County, photographer Kristy Ahumada of Volatile Photography knew Carlyn and Davey would love a woodsy water setting reminiscent of that scenery for their photo session, complete with peonies from their garden. Fresh berries represent the couple’s love of picking fruit together, collected in a box crafted just for them by a friend. We can’t think of a sweeter way to capture the love between these two!

Although we don’t feature a ton of engagement shoots, this one was way too cute not to share! Tauren and Chris’ shoot was designed to show the seasons of their relationship and to ask their loved ones to join them in the next season of their lives. How sweet is that? They sipped lattes outside for the fall, snuggled up for a snowy Christmas inside, shared a colorful spring picnic, and ran around on the beach for summer. Such a cute idea with beautiful photos from Bethany Belle!

This sweet engagement session is just the perfect way to kick off the week! Lindsay and Brock chose the Castle House and Garden in Bonny Doon, California as the setting for their portraits – it was featured in a documentary “The Botany Of Desire” so photographer Claire Barrett gave the shoot a horticultural theme with seedlings, fresh vegetables, and garden plots. The curious animals are just too cute!

Choosing the right photographer was very important to both of us. I’m an art director for a publication company, so I work with photographers on a regular basis. I knew the look I wanted our pictures to have, the challenge was just finding someone who matched that style. While the vintage  themed engagement sessions are very trendy right now, we wanted something that would be classic, timeless and fit the rest of our wedding. We wanted to look like ourselves and not use props or set up a fake scene. Our idea was to use locations that are special and meaningful to us. Since Mike trusted me on this, I met with a few photographers on my own. I found a few good ones that might have worked, but I still wasn’t sure. My last meeting was with our former next door neighbor, Merek Davis. He had done a few photoshoots for Mike’s bands and is more well-known for his work with bands (he photographed Frankie Muniz!) and his amazing editing skills, but I figured if he could do that, he could do amazing wedding photography too! When I met with him, he brought over a presentation on his iPad of weddings he has shot and the prints and albums that are included in his wedding packages. After seeing his wedding photography and talking to him about our wedding, I was sure he would do an amazing job! Him and his fiance work together on weddings and we love seeing how excited they get when we tell them details about our wedding and what we are looking for.

Dreamy is the first word that comes to mind when looking at these lovely beach engagement photos! Joanne and Johnny picked up oysters from their favorite spot—Hog Island Oyster Farm—for a romantic picnic near Point Reyes.
