Classic Winter Wedding in Seattle

We are just loving these images of Ashley and Michael’s New Orleans wedding! The historic feel of the city blended with modern touches and classic details is the perfect combination for a stunning affair! We’re amazed at the breathtaking architecture of St. Louis Cathedral, site of the ceremony, as well as the timeless setting of The Roosevelt New Orleans, where the reception was held. “I wanted a classic and romantic feel for the ceremony and reception,” says Ashley. “My vision was lots of creams and whites in the furniture and flowers with lots of candles and mirrored accents. Our florist, Bahara of Plants N’ Petals, did an absolutely amazing job bringing our vision to life!” Sophisticated black bridesmaids dresses from LulaKate are dramatic, especially beside Ashley’s dazzling Rivini gown with a dramatic scalloped skirt! We just can’t get enough of the bridal party’s amazing ensemble! We love the glam accents at the reception, too, from crystal candelabras to a swiss dot cake by The Roosevelt New Orleans and the bride and groom’s classic NOLA ending: a second line with umbrellas! Ahh, we can’t stop staring at these gorgeous images from Julia Wade Photography! Nestled in the foothills of Highlands, North Carolina, The Farm at Old Edwards Inn is an elegant venue for Sarahbeth and Lee’s classic wedding. Oakleaf Flower & Garden brought in tons of white lilies and hydrangeas to mix with earthy greenery, transforming the inn into a dreamy and romantic setting for Sarahbeth and Lee. We are in love with Sarahbeth’s fur, which she wore over a stunning beaded lace Martina Liana gown from Divas Boutique & Bridal. Black bridesmaids dresses from The Dessy Group fit right into the classic feel of the day, coordinated by Taylor Wright of Old Edwards Inn & Spa. At the reception, tables are crowned with more white florals, some arranged in sparkly mercury glass for subtle shine. A simple square wedding cake from Creative Pastries by Sid, set atop a silver cake stand, is another timeless detail of this beautiful affair. Oh how we love a flawless wedding like this one!

Anna and Carly’s impossibly glamorous wedding is like a fairytale brought to life. For starters, Sacramento’s The Citizen Hotel is a stunning venue, with gold and ivory details by Kate Miller Events to make it even more luxe. Flourish used the same soft color palette for florals that shine–literally! We’re floored by the jewels woven in to Anna’s cream bouquet! We also love that more bling was added to the wedding cake from Sweet Cakes by Rebecca, so it sparkles like the rest of the details. Halter-style black bridesmaids dresses add another sophisticated element, as does Anna’s beaded strapless gown, all by Alfred Angelo. Anna’s bib necklace from A Heart’s Desires is swoon-worthy, just like every one of these images from Sarah Maren Photographers. This is an all-out gorgeous affair—swoon over it all in the gallery!

It’s no wonder that classic style rules the day at Meghan and Aaron’s Chautauqua, New York, affair–after all, the wedding was held at The Hall of Philosophy at Chautauqua Institution, an education center and summer resort where Meghan’s family goes back generations. To set the tone for their day, the couple sent out vintage-style stationery designed by the groom, Aaron Fetter. Following the outdoor ceremony, where bridesmaids wore short pink Jenny Yoo Collection dresses that sweetly coordinated with hydrangea bouquets by Francesca’s Floral Design, guests headed to the resort’s Athenaeum Hotel for a laid-back reception that included a buttercream cake from The Cakery, plenty of dancing, and the release of paper sky lanterns, which lit up much the way Meghan did in her Watters gown! Lauren and AJ’s elegant Nashville wedding was an old-school Southern affair that started with a ceremony at the beautiful Cathedral of the Incarnation. Soft taupe bridesmaids dresses played backdrop to hydrangea, lily, and magnolia leaf bouquets by OSHi International Floral Decor Studio. Lauren walked down the aisle in a strapless Justin Alexander gown from Sweet Elegance Bridal. After the traditional Catholic ceremony, guests headed to downtown’s The Hermitage Hotel, where classic green and cream florals and warm wood decor welcomed. Events by Janie helped coordinate the soiree, which featured balsa wood airplane place cards, a nod to AJ’s Air Force career, and an amazing cake from Dessert Designs. Brecklyn and Cameron’s wedding in Austin, Texas, is the epitome of elegance. With a classic color palette of white, black and gold, the couple and planner Caplan Miller Events orchestrated a beautiful ballroom fete inside the Four Seasons hotel, preceded by a simple and traditional ceremony at Central Christian Church. Breckyln’s lace gown is stunning, with a crystal and silk detail that cinches her waist. We love the white bouquets bridesmaids carried, as well as the towering candelabra arrangements inside the reception! We’re so glad Jennifer Lindberg Weddings shared this stunning wedding with us!

After a traditional Catholic church ceremony, Lauren and Jim headed to La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla, California for an elegant reception. Flowers Annette Gomez and Adrianne Smith Floral Design double-teamed to create the lush blooms dotting the sanctuary and bouquets. We’re totally gaping at Lauren’s intricate lace gown with cap sleeves—it’s fabulous, as are these photos from Jennifer Dery Photography!

How lovely is this New York City wedding? So lovely that it’s a 2012 favorite! The Carlyle is the perfect iconic, sophisticated spot for Jamie and Kevin’s soiree. But that’s where the big-city modern touches end! Instead, soft floral arrangements and bouquets by Amy Merrick Flowers & Styling complement the altar swag of lush greenery and white blooms. Jamie chose a classic Katie Ermilio gown with lace sleeves and a cathedral-length veil to walk down the aisle, surrounded by fewer than 15 family members and friends. We’re dying over the bright floral china used at the reception and the cascading sugar flowers on the cake. It felt like our lucky day when we opened these pretty photos from Kate Murphy Photography!

Simple elegance is what this graphic designer bride (she designed the invites herself!) had in mind for her late-summer Boston wedding, held at the sleek Ritz-Carlton Boston Common. Ann and Dave pulled it off, with all-white arrangements and bouquets by private florist William Mizuta and a breathtaking lace gown from Monique Lhuillier. White pillar candles and clear glass vases kept the evening sparkling and completed the contemporary look while also infusing warmth. The only source of color—navy bridesmaids dresses from Priscilla of Boston—are a bold, graphic element in the airy scheme. Photos from Kate Rose Photography capture the minimalist design that’s anything but stark and cold. Ann says everyone spent most of the night dancing to music by Soho, which meant the couple and their guests burned off enough calories to indulge in a four-tier dessert from Cakes to Remember. We think this whole affair is something to remember!

Emma and Taylor envisioned an intimate wedding with their closest friends and family. They selected the Aurora Inn on Cayuga Lake because Taylor grew up visiting his parents at their lake house on Cayuga, and the absolutely beautiful setting and historic town were an easy choice. With the dreamy backdrop, the couple kept the rest of their event light and airy with a crisp white tent, pastel color palette, and Taylor’s dress whites! April and Michael’s intimate wedding at Denver’s Halcyon Hotel is full of classic and modern touches! The Halcyon is a cozy boutique hotel, and their 68 guests were a perfect fit, ensuring that the couple could celebrate and chat with each of their closest family and friends throughout the evening. April selected a timeless, slim-fitting Nicole Miller gown from BHLDN, accentuating with a veil handmade by A Busy Mother and pretty pink Badgley Mischka shoes. Her bouquet by The Flower House Denver featuring snowy white blooms accentuated with anemones for a pop of black. Centerpieces of textured flowers, succulents, metallic elements, and lots of dreamy candles accentuated the reception ballroom at the Halcyon, with its dramatic dark details. Boston’s Lenox Hotel is a historic boutique hotel in the heart of downtown, and Elizabeth and Michael’s vintage theme was a perfect complement to the graceful architecture of the venue. A color palette of soft petal pink, peach, and gold was brought to life with gorgeous florals by Table and Tulip. Elizabeth’s bouquet of gorgeous peach amaryllis, ranunculus, hydrangea, roses, and tulips may be one of our favorites in recent memory! Set against a lace Pronovias gown, the look is absolute perfection. Whimsical details filled the day, from the single bud flower curtain to the rose petal lined ceremony aisle, and the Boston summer weather could not have been more lovely. Caroline and Brandon’s St. Petersburg wedding is equal parts soft and romantic, and elegant touches abound! The couple, who opted to eschew a first look, caught their first glimpse of each other as Caroline walked down the aisle of the gorgeous St. Mary our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in a sophisticated custom Augusta Jones gown. During the full Catholic mass, the couple both used their baptismal candles to light the same unity candle that Brandon’s parents lit on their wedding day. In the months leading up to the wedding, Caroline and Brandon had taken dance classes, and their choreographed first dance was a hit at the reception! Along with their guests, many of whom traveled to Florida for the big day, the couple danced all night! The ballroom of The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club was transformed with lush arrangements by Botanica International Design Studio featuring peonies, roses, greenery, and a sea of candlelight. Lauren and Raymond both hail from large Italian families, so their East Meadow, NY wedding was no small affair! Their shared love for their heritage was incorporated throughout their reception at The Carltun, from the Italian menu to the vintage map of Italy re-purposed as escort cards and Italian love notes hand-calligraphed by Eliza Gwendalyn. The couple chose not to see each other before their ceremony, and recalls that “walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time was something so special that we will never regret.” We know that the moment of seeing Lauren in her elegant and sophisticated Monique Lhuillier gown will be forever in Raymond’s memory! Lauren and Raymond worked with Pedestals for the classic ballroom reception, featuring hydrangea, sahara roses, and glimmering candlelight. Rana and Andy’s Chicago wedding is classic and beautiful! The festivities began at the grand Holy Name Cathedral where the couple exchanged vows during a traditional Catholic ceremony. As guests made their way to Congress Plaza for the reception, the bridal party traveled to many of Chicago’s stunning vistas for portraits, including Olive Park, with its sweeping views of the skyline. The Gold Room at the Congress Plaza lives up to its name, and Anthony Gowder Designs created elegant decor befitting the gilded ballroom. Hydrangea and rose centerpieces paired with crisp white china and gold chiavari chairs for a crisp, sophisticated feel. After enjoying the decadent tiered confection from The Baking Institute, everyone danced the night away to tunes from Okyne Medialab. We’re head over heels for the stunning images from Artistrie Co.!

When asked to describe their wedding, Margaux and Mark’s instant sentiment was “heartwarming.” While they certainly filled their day with personal touches—including a custom monogram motif, Mark’s great-grandmother’s cake knives, and a menu hand-scripted by Margaux’s aunt—the wedding festivities, and being surrounded by their nearest and dearest, took center stage. Margaux is resplendent in a Pronovias gown and voluminous veil from Elizabeth Johns. For the cozy reception, Jennie from Love N’ Fresh Flowers created classic, seasonal arrangements in a mix of plum and winter white that accented the gilded ballroom of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey’s Ryland Inn. After a delicious sit-down dinner, guests danced the night away to the tunes of The Silk Band. An unexpected snowstorm the day prior set the stage for a bright and clear first day of spring, the perfect ambiance for each of the gorgeous images from Love Me Do Photography!

Katie and Jeffrey celebrated their nuptials on a gorgeous winter day. After a ceremony at Katie’s childhood church, the guests moved to New Jersey’s Ryland Inn for a warm and cozy reception. The Ryland Inn’s large rustic ballroom with a beautiful stone fireplace was dimly lit by candlelight and Conroy’s Creations created breathtaking large arrangements to accent the cathedral ceilings. To combat the chilly December day (theirs was a 12/13/14 soiree!), the bridesmaids accented their J.Crew gowns with soft gray pashminas. Their warm and romantic day was beautifully captured by Brklyn View Photography!

Patty and Andrew were married on a picture-perfect California summer day at the Huntington Beach Hyatt Regency. The couple met as mere children and attended every school from junior high to graduate school together! Their laid-back beach wedding beautifully blended classic elements, like Patty’s stunning Pronovias gown and elegant florals (those pink peonies – swoon!) from Greenleaf Designs, with personal elements, such as their custom New York City MetroCard escort cards, which paid homage to the couple’s graduate school years in NYC. Patty is a vision of easy elegance with a soft updo, Twigs & Honey headpiece, and beautiful, natural makeup from E2Beauty, and her maids’ deep blue  J.Crew dresses perfectly complement their beribboned pink bouquets! Jordan and Andrew’s St Louis wedding is pure timeless beauty. After a ceremony at the gorgeous Memorial Presbyterian Church, the couple set out in a vintage white limousine to their reception location, the Ritz Carlton St. Louis. A classic color palette of blush, ivory, and pale gold was brought to life by the lush florals from Artistry Florist, with hydrangea, roses, and an array of pillar candles and crystal candlesticks. Jordan is the epitome of easy elegance in an Anne Barge gown from Stanley Korshak, which perfectly complemented her maids’ blush Amsale gowns. Each image from Carretto Studio is spectacular!

I may be a bit biased, but Chicago’s skyline is absolute perfection. And it’s on full display in Sarah and Greg’s gorgeous May wedding at the Millennium Knickerbocker, planned by Lola Event Productions. Almost all of the couple’s guests traveled to Chicago for the wedding, so they wanted to plan an elegant urban wedding showing off the best the city had to offer! The Michigan Avenue hotel’s ornate Crystal Ballroom was home to both the elegant ceremony and the reception, which featured an array of classic floral arrangements by Exquisite Designs atop glitzy gold linens. Pretty pink napkins folded into bows dressed the hotel’s traditional art deco inspired china. We adore the traditional vibe of the long, stunning head table for the wedding party, which was awash in a sea of candles in front of dramatic ivory draping. Ending the evening? A delectable buffet of traditional Chicago treats, including deep dish pizza, mini hot dogs, and Italian beef sandwiches.
