Oyster Picnic Engagement Session

Dreamy is the first word that comes to mind when looking at these lovely beach engagement photos! Joanne and Johnny picked up oysters from their favorite spot—Hog Island Oyster Farm—for a romantic picnic near Point Reyes. We love the vintage feel the deserted shore plus rentals from Dreamy Whites gives this session! We think Joanne and Johnny look stunning and happy in these beautiful images from KT Merry Photography!

Elegant Charleston Wedding in Rich Berry Tones

College of Charleston alumni Chanel and Alex returned to their old stomping grounds to profess their forevers to each other in downtown Charleston, South Carolina and they certainly did it to the nines. Aaron and Jillian Photography captured the opulence and southern charm of their big day and those wine and blush shades are calling our name. Deep jewel-toned colors were the supreme winners for the day, with the bridesmaids in luxe berry Hayley Paige gowns, exquisite burgundy florals by Petaloso, and a merlot wedding invitation suite with hints of gold. Rich colors and romance reign supreme in this Charleston affair planned to perfection by Pure Luxe Bride!

Breathtaking Winery Wedding

James and Inga selected the breathtaking Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez for their timeless and romantic wedding. The couple brought their vision of a wedding full of warmth and family to life, scouting out antique markets for decor, collecting candles, votives and hurricanes to accent the beautiful venue, and lovingly restoring items such as the lovely gold frame housing their seating chart. A blush and peach color palette complemented the venue’s natural elegance and custom calligraphy signage from Angelique Ink and Carolyn Jane added a whimsical touch to the festivities. Inga and James worked with Joy Proctor and Camellia Floral Designs to design the outdoor ceremony set beneath a stately oak tree and dinner reception in the front of the house. Lush, organic florals dressed tables from The Tent Merchant, and a ruffly cake from Decadence Fine Cakes & Confections was the perfect sweet ending! As always, each image from KT Merry Photography is spectacular—gush over them all in the gallery!

Romantic + Elegant LA Hotel Wedding

Natives of Los Angeles, Michelle and Miguel wanted a spot for their wedding that didn’t feel like typical LA. The Legendary Park Plaza Hotel was the perfect venue for that, with its dramatic staircases, ceilings, and windows. The Dainty Lion helped Michelle and Miguel plan a celebration that was uniquely theirs, which included lush peony bouquets, baby’s breath topiaries, and pretty blooms in glass vases along tables peppered with gold sequin linens. Bridesmaids in taupe dresses were elegant, especially standing next to Michelle in a lace and tulle Pronovias gown from Bellasposa. We love Michelle’s blue Badgley Mischka shoes with sparkling brooches! Romantic touches such as floral stationery from Wedding Paper Divas and feather accents on place settings matches the drama of the location! A dessert table at the reception featured macaroons from Sweet and Saucy Shop, topped off with a cake designed by Hotcakes Bakes. We’re swooning over every detail in these photos from Love, Janet Photography!

Elegant Florida Keys Wedding

It’s our favorite time of the year, and we don’t just mean the holidays. It’s time for our annual favorites series! During these next two weeks, we’ll be sharing some of the most swoon-worthy wedding inspiration of the year! Kicking things off is one of our most-loved weddings of 2013, Britt and Sam’s Islamorada, Florida soiree from the exquisite KT Merry Photography. There’s not a single thing about this wedding, designed by Parrish Designs and Caidal Events, that we don’t adore. Britt is positively ethereal in a custom Trash Couture gown, and the Amoursans Anguish bridesmaids dresses have us swooning. But of course we know the couple’s favorite wedding memory will be having their adorable chihuahuas as ring bearers! This wedding is overflowing with inspiration—visit the gallery to see it all!

Blush + Pink Ballroom Wedding

Beverly and Nelson went for all-out glamour when planning their oceanside nuptials at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in California! This affair is made complete by the hundreds of blush, cream, and pink blooms fashioned by Nisie’s Enchanted Florist. To complement the sweet hues, bridesmaids wore lavender one-shoulder dresses from Banana Republic. Beverly’s Lazaro gown is hands-down one of the most stunning we’ve ever laid eyes on, with ruffles and beading and details for days! The whimsical jewel-encrusted butterflies adoring her Aruna Seth shoes are fun and elegant. Platinum Weddings by Kerrie assisted Beverly and Nelson so that the day was everything they hoped for, and after looking at these photos from Sarah K. Chen Photography, we wouldn’t change a thing! See all of the gorgeousness in the gallery!

Elegant San Francisco Mansion Wedding

Amy and Michael’s San Francisco wedding, held at The James Leary Flood Mansion in the heart of the city, is simply breathtaking! You don’t get much more romantic than a backdrop of rolling California hills, and add to that Amy’s stunner of a gown, by Vera Wang, and mod, succulent, and white flower arrangements by Birch, and you have quite an affair! We’re smitten with Amy’s wax leaf, moss, and white bud bouquet, too. Tanja Lippert Photography shared these gorgeous images of an understated, romantic ceremony, followed by a reception at which no detail was left untouched by Maxine Andrew! We love the contemporary tablescapes and the pops of gold and hot pink in the seating areas. Pardon us while we swoon over each and every gorgeous image in the gallery!

Everything about Louise and Derek’s wedding celebration softly proclaims sophisticated city style. With a ceremony at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts Theatre followed by a reception at The City Club, the elegant, artsy theme was set and only further enhanced by Louise’s Fanal by La Sposa strapless wrap gown. Simple, structured black bridesmaids dresses from Ann Taylor were striking against the sunset-colored flowers and bouquets from Flowers by D’aria Rose. A bold orange-and-yellow rose garland cascaded down an understated tiered cake by Jasmine Rae Bakery, making it a focal point of the reception decor. Casual Chinatown Engagement Session

Could there be a better way to celebrate two creative, vibrant, crazy-about-each other actors than with a colorful and fun engagement session in Chinatown? We certainly don’t think so! In fact, we couldn’t dream of a more perfect engagement shoot setting for Alex and Lawrence-Michael, a San Francisco couple who love theater and met while performing in the same musical. Alex (donning the fabulous bow tie) and Lawrence-Michael (rocking the beard) have an urban, preppy and modern style that comes to life in their adorable engagement photos. The bright murals, lantern-lined streets and painted brick backdrops are the cherry on top of this happy photo session, and we thank Tinywater Photography for sharing these amazing images!

Real Weddings: Bonnie + Zlatko

Bonnie says she remembers gliding around her wedding day “like a Queen who had just married her perfect King” and similarly, the details of her beautiful Bay Area wedding to Zlatko had a royal touch to them. The fabulous Kohl Mansion was the ideal venue for their big day, with both the interior and grounds regally curated and full of well-manicured gardens. Their florist, very appropriately named Royal Bloom, brought the beauty and feel of English gardens indoors with natural-shaped bouquets overflowing with roses, hydrangea, eucalyptus, and passion flower vine, and they even created a crown of hypericum berries for Bonnie! Danielle Gillett Photography captured the beautiful photos of Bonnie and Zlatko’s big day.

Blooms Dunn Right chose soft yellow, coral, blush, and brighter pink roses for the bridal bouquet and centerpieces to mirror the warm tones of California’s sunsets, and created a stunning free-standing floral frame to highlight the couple during their intimate wedding ceremony. Charmingly Elegant Chateau Wedding in Arizona

When Haley and Isaiah began planning their wedding they didn’t have lots of detailed Pinterest boards outlining all the must-have elements for their day. Instead, they wanted to focus simply on celebrating love, and with an uncomplicated vision of bright colors and classy elegance, they let Riding Tandem and their vendor team take the lead to create this lovely and beautiful event! Their venue couldn’t have been dreamier and the coral and pink florals by The Wildflower AZ were perfection against the pale blue bridesmaids dresses. Elegant Socially Distant Wedding Inspiration

Today’s wedding inspiration comes from the idea that downsizing your guest list and implementing social distancing measures into your big day does not mean that you have to downsize your vision! Magnolia Celebrates shows us ways to elevate your wedding style, such as using smaller, more intimate tables and creating unique tablescapes or place settings for each, using stately plate covers for a plated meal, or displaying a faux wedding cake throughout the event. The team behind today’s post was inspired by the old Spanish architecture of the venue. They incorporated shades of mauve, brick, cappuccino, and sage into the tablescapes, each table getting a unique set of linens and gorgeous florals by Flowers By Yona. So many wonderful ideas from this shoot and these photos by Caroline Willett are sure to give you lots of ideas for your own wedding, whether it will be in the time of social distancing or not!

French Garden Inspiration in Washington

A backdrop of verdant green climbing ivy and dreamy painterly florals would play a muse for any impressionist artist, so it’s no wonder that Indigo Event Design chose the stunning gardens and chateau of Monet Vineyards for this Claude Monet-inspired shoot. BLUE Floral Company created a pastel rainbow of locally-sourced florals to paint the outdoor ceremony space and stunning bouquet that is worthy of Monet’s brush itself. Lush centerpieces of coral and butter yellow peonies, lavender scabiosa, and dusty blush roses sit atop a french blue table, with just the right touch of regal elegance from gold flatware and chargers. Romantic and intimate, these photos by RTFaith Photography prove that even a micro-wedding can be a fairytale wedding too!

Later in the day, Kristen changed from her vibrant red gown to a romantic lace BHLDN gown for a Jewish ceremony under a stunning chuppah decorated with blush, peach, and ivory roses and peonies by Holly Chapple Flowers. Chic San Francisco Cafe Wedding

We are head over heels for Lauren and Taylor’s chic blue-and-white San Francisco wedding! Lauren, a wedding planner herself, immediately began pulling together ideas after Taylor’s proposal, so that—with the help of Ryder Sloan Events—they could have an outdoor affair to remember. She started with the location, Stable Cafe. The urban garden space was a great backdrop for a collection of blue-and-white ginger jars filled with florals from Mandolin Flowers. Plumosa fern garlands and cafe lights added an air of sophistication, while classic arrangements of hydrangeas, anemones, and roses accented tables covered with Swiss dot linens from La Tavola. Lauren wore her cousin’s couture Carolina Herrera Bridal gown with embellished blue Manolo Blahnik heels, a Christmas gift from Taylor; her bouquet was wrapped with long pieces of vintage lace and blue velvet ribbon. Amy Nichols Special Events ensured the day ran smoothly from start to finish, which included transforming the courtyard after the ceremony into a luxe space for dinner and dancing, along with lounging areas outfitted with seating from One True Love Vintage Rentals. Later in the evening, guests sipped warm spiked cocktails from the DIY coffee bar, the perfect accompaniment to a salted caramel wedding cake from Cake Coquette—the design of the dessert mimicked the ginger jar pattern. We are just in total love with all of these fabulous images from Julie Mikos!

We’re crushing pretty hard on Jennifer and Matt’s breathtaking San Francisco wedding in all its sleek black and white glory! The ceremony, held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, was a vision of structured elegance–starting with Jennifer’s mod Romona Keveza Collection gown (that back sash!) from Bridal Galleria and floor-length black Bill Levkoff dresses on bridesmaids. The black, ivory, and gold reception at The Olympic Club featured all white florals from Asiel Design, including centerpieces of cascading white orchids that are simply stunning. We love the personal touch of hand-carved shorebirds on the tables, done by Jennifer’s decoy carver father. A dessert table with confections from SusieCakes lent an air of fun to this sophisticated affair. These images from Milou + Olin Photography are just flawless. Don’t miss a single detail!
