Sophisticated + Airy Italian Wedding

Despite having to move their Saturday Seaside nuptials to a Friday due to a threatening tropical storm–and pulled off with little stress, says the bride, thanks to Shelby Peaden Events–Blaire and Bill’s wedding day couldn’t have been more picture perfect! These breathtaking images from Dear Wesleyann have us swooning over every detail, from sky blue bridesmaids dress by LulaKate to the lacy and elegant Nicole Miller gown Blaire chose. Magnolia leaf wreaths embellish the pews at the chic Seaside Chapel, where the bright light mixed with the cool colors creates a sophisticated at-the-beach vibe. At the reception held on the Central Park lawn at Alys Beach, seagrass textures and white florals, blue candles, and a subtle ocean theme are stunning thanks to Events by Nouveau. We’re loving the gold accents, too, from Chiavari chairs and linens to the calligraphy invitation suite from Paper Affair to Blaire’s metallic Jimmy Choo heels!

This uber-mod, chic wedding held at New York’s Three Sixty in Tribeca, is a study in monochromatic palettes and sleek sophistication! All white flowers with pops of green from Ovando keep the vibe romantic and contemporary, with planning from the always flawless Ang Weddings & Events. For the Buddhist ceremony, the bride chose a romantic beaded gown by Monique Lhuillier with a Pronovias belt, while her single bridesmaid wore a white dress with a similar silhouette from Badgley Mischka. Of course, we adore that the couple’s dog participated in the festivities, dressed in his own tux found on eBay!  These images from Susan Stripling are just stunning!

Several months ago we shared Maryam and Josh’s Salt Lake City garden wedding, and today we have the huge honor of revealing Maryam’s gorgeous sister Mondi’s wedding to her handsome groom Cory! The sister’s unique personalities shine through in their choice of wedding, and Mondi’s is all about sophisticated glamour. Their destination wedding was set at The St. Regis Deer Valley, surrounded by mountains, and the couple worked with Allison Baddley of La Fete Floral & Events to plan and design an Old-Hollywood meets glamorous-rustic wedding. The ceremony provided the perfect occasion to incorporate Mondi’s Persian heritage. The Sofreh Aghd—a beautiful spread of items meant to symbolize what the couple wished for in their marriage—took center stage, and a Persian rug graced the ceremony aisle. The reception entrance featured a unique seating chart display: a 10 foot moss wall showcasing a wall of mirrors directing guests to their seats. Tables featured a mix of richly-colored arrangements (how gorgeous are those burgundy orchids?) and swaths of greenery echoing the surroundings. We are completely smitten with this entire day, and adore each image from Heather Nan Photography!

Elise and Michael’s wedding showcases the stunning city of Chicago almost as well as it illustrates their love for each other! An interfaith ceremony at Old St. Patrick’s Church brought together both families’ traditions, and their Chicago Cultural Center reception—planned and designed by Beth Bernstein of SQN Events—is the epitome of classic sophistication. The stunning Preston Bradley Hall, with its ornate dome and stately marbled walls, was the perfect backdrop for a reception featuring elegant calligraphy details, centerpieces of greenery, candles, and soft white blooms from Flora, and a rocking party set to the tunes of Matt Lewis and The Union. Alizee and David were married at Domaine de la Rouillere in the stunning Mediterranean town of Saint-Tropez, 10 years after their first kiss! Working with the fabulous La Fabrique a Reves, the couple designed a sophisticated wedding reminiscent of the Provence countryside, with a fresh white and green color palette. Centerpieces by Marion B of hydrangea and herbs brought a botanical feel to the reception tent from Organic Concept. Alizee is exquisite in a Delphine Manivet gown and lace-trimmed veil. We simply adore each and every image from bubblerock!

Olga’s family is from Russia, and Tristan’s is from the UK. They previously lived in Switzerland and currently make their home in Australia. It was only natural that they gather their nearest and dearest, who are scattered throughout the world, for a destination wedding. They selected the picturesque Relais Sant’Uffizio in Piedmont, Italy, and planned a 3-day wedding weekend. After a Great Gatsby inspired welcome party and a relaxed BBQ, their wedding day was a celebration of their love and cultures with a ceremony written by the couple and performed in both English and Russian, the Russian dance troupe Accademia Nazionale di Danza, and the Italian Columbia Oasis Tribute Band. We are loving the sophisticated touches in Denis and Roxane’s wedding at Chicago’s Ivy Room! The sleek space is a perfect blank slate, and the couple worked with LK Events to create an elegant and modern setting. Hydrangeas in the fresh palette of day—ivory and spring green—set atop the tables and ceremony aisle markers, and hints of chevron added a bit of playfulness to the scene. After dancing the night away on the floor to Colby Bassera and The Party Faithful, Roxane and Denis tucked into a perfectly petite butter yellow cake from Table 52. We are are simply in love with this stunning Italian wedding from Cinzia Bruschini! As if the country alone isn’t romantic enough, the beautiful setting of Fattoria Casamora combined with lush and lovely florals from Jardin Divers takes this gorgeous affair over the top. We can’t get enough of the flower hair wreaths adorning bridesmaids in bold, colorful dresses. The bride’s Celestina Agostino gown is a vision of vintage-style lace and elegance. Dripping candles and olive branches add local Tuscan flavor at the outdoor reception. We’re swooning over each and every one of these jaw-dropping images!

We’re pretty sure there’s nothing more romantic than an Italian destination wedding, and we are just undone over Kelli and Gabriel’s event at Villa Cicolina in Montepulciano, Italy! Because the couple was far away from their venue in the United States, they entrusted Chic Weddings to finalize the details, meeting with them on just a single trip to Italy before their wedding. And, oh, the details! Lush, earthy florals filled the villa grounds, artfully arranged by La Rosa Canina, including peonies, olive leaves, roses, and other blooms in shades of sage, peach, lemon, and clementine. A handmade chuppah from Jennifer Raichman, embellished with flower garlands, anchored the outdoor ceremony. Kelli chose to wear a delicate beaded Jenny Packham gown from Nouvelle Vogue, paired with an Art Deco style bracelet by Maria Elena. Long tables placed on the grass are simple but stunning, with low, colorful florals mixed among more rustic candles. We are swooning over all the gorgeous details in these images from Lelia Scarfiotti!

Guests at Tiffany and Jonathan’s Montecito Country Club wedding were first treated to a dramatic floral installation by Modern Day Design—inspired by an art exhibit the bride saw at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York—and champagne before taking their seats. Tiffany stunned in a beaded Elie Saab gown as she walked down the aisle, carrying a white peony bouquet, hand-in-hand with Jonathan. After a “somber, ceremonial, romantic” vow exchange, says the bride, everyone switched to party mode, enjoying dancing, cocktails, and cake from Montecito Confections Bakery. From beginning to (late-night) end, Lacie Hansen Photography did a beautiful job of capturing every detail!

Like many couples of 2020, Anjali and Sam had to get creative with their wedding planning because of COVID. For the safety of their guests, they decided to have their wedding ceremony in the bride’s aunt’s garden at sunset for an intimate and romantic celebration. The ceremony arch by Ellamah Floral was the star of the show and the perfect backdrop for the backyard nuptials. It was a whole family effort, with the groom’s uncle officiated the touching ceremony. Gina and Joe’s story begins like so many others in this generation: via a dating app and an awkward first date. Despite the fact Joe was not a Francophile and “avoided all of the French words” at the French restaurant they ate at, the pair met up again and the rest was history. Before they knew it, they were planning a wedding in Temecula’s wine country with Ashley Bee Photography documenting their day. Purple was common favorite color between the two of them, yet they wanted to break up the hues with various shades. Mauve, gold, and the deep brown wood interior at Wiens Family Cellar created a classic and rustic feel. Gina and Joe are fond of the outdoors, yet due to the weather and the season, they opted to stay warm and cozy inside. Despite this, they wanted to extract those aspects of the outdoors they love and add them into their indoor venue. Long, wooden tables mostly exposed with Sweet Flowers’ wildflower-esque creations gave this nature-loving couple exactly the motif they wanted, and it’s a treat for us all too!

Janine and Mike chose Woodbridge Township’s stunning Ariana’s Grand for their reception venue, and the venue was perfect for their clean and ethereal wedding vision! To keep their wedding timeless, Flowers by Bernard filled their reception with swaths of greenery and mixed metals, accented by succulents and acrylic elements for a modern touch. Janine’s late grandmother was named Rosalie, and they honored her by sprinkling roses throughout the arrangements. Let’s all take a moment (or two) out of our day to check out this bliss-inducing Janita Mestre wedding. It’s delightfully in the desert, so of course you’re going to spot a few cacti at Galway Downs, but you’re going to see such a dreamy color palette too. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, Stephanie and Alex wanted to evoke love all throughout, so they picked pink as their go-to hue. Big and bright blush and ivory florals by Events by Floral Sensations complemented the eye-catching David’s Bridal mauve bridesmaids’ dresses, and we loved this idea, too. Instead of continuing the soft tones everywhere, shake up the colors like Stephanie and Alex and throw a deep hue in the same color family somewhere that will be seen. Adding it to the bridesmaids’ dresses was a clever touch without overwhelming the couple’s desire to have an airy feel to their wedding day.

When you fall in love with your wedding venue, you just know, no matter what your plans originally were. Amanda and Vlad planned for a Colorado wedding, but they never knew what hit them as they stepped foot onto Bella Collina’s stunning grounds in Florida. Reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside, it was love at first sight for the duo and it just jived so well with their romantic wedding vision that we get to fawn over thanks to Kristen Weaver Photography‘s epic photos. The white florals and greenery by Lee James Floral looked resplendent against the venue’s landscape, but no matter how glorious the blooms looked, it just couldn’t compare to Amanda and Vlad looking like a million bucks. They stole the show, for sure!

California-based Kate and Edward decided to tie the knot in Charleston, South Carolina, and fell in love with the classic and historic aesthetic of the Bennett House. Two hours before their ceremony, a ferocious summer storm came through, drenching their ceremony garden. Undeterred, The Petal Report and Tiger Lily moved the ceremony indoors to the base of the dramatic staircase. The rain cleared just as the ceremony ended, just in time for the couple and their guests to dance the night away to Palmetto Soul. These two are hopelessly in love, and it shows through in every beautiful moment captured by Rachel Red Photography!

Kasey and Sean wanted a relaxed, carefree atmosphere for their destination wedding, so they selected The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island to host their early summer soiree. Working with Yoj Events to plan from afar, they created a classic, timeless feel with a seaside color palette. Kasey found her “dream dress” in a sophisticated Pronovias lace gown, and Sean selected a classic blue suit. We love this beautiful waterside wedding and all of the gorgeous moments captured by Jennings King Photography!

The stunning Condado Vanderbilt Hotel San Juan, Puerto Rico hosted Karen and Nick’s intimate destination wedding, planned from afar by enlisting the help of AMK Events! Karen says “Anne Marie made planning our wedding a dream and connected us with such a fantastic team of professionals”, including the fabulous Anabelle Barranco of STEM Events! The event was relaxed but romantic, with bridesmaids in white gowns of their own choosing, and Karen is a positively exquisite Anna Maier gown with intricate beading and chic short sleeves. The entire day was a family affair, with the couple’s youngest son walking Karen down the aisle to Nick, and their eldest throwing rose petals. Karen’s family is from Puerto Rico, and her aunt created a traditional Puerto Rican wedding cake, and even a second cake with guava filling that had guests lining up for more! Ashley and Tate are head-over-heels in love, their laughter endless, and their classic winter wedding in the Northwoods of Wisconsin is overflowing with love and joy! The couple both wanted a traditional wedding, with a sophisticated style and simple color palette. They chose Wausau’s Rothschild Pavilion to play host, and selected a color palette of black, white, and gold, with a mix of winter blooms for bouquets and fresh greenery for the reception, featuring a dramatic king’s table and swaths of white draping from the pavilion’s ceiling. Ashley donned her grandmother’s vintage gown for their ceremony and changed into a custom silk gown by Monirose Bespoke Bridal for the reception. Classic black tuxedos and black bridesmaids’ dresses of the maids’ choosing completed the elegant winter look. Wisconsin winter is magical, and we adore the images by Natashia Nicole Photography!

As wedding photographers themselves, Andie and Tony are surrounded by celebrations. When it came time to plan their own, a winter wedding was only natural, as they began dating in the winter and Tony proposed to Andie in the winter! Maryland’s Silver Swan Bayside was the perfect setting to showcase their color palette of white and green with pops of burgundy. Though their wedding was held in December, they didn’t want decor that was overtly Christmas-y, but instead had touches of the holiday, such as evergreen trees, gold details, and even Andie’s Martina Liana gown, with detailing reminiscent of snowflakes! Cascading greenery, candlelight, and a snow-flurried send-off is a winter wedding lover’s dream, and their special day is captured beautifully by Molly Lichten Photography!
