Laura and James were married on a lovely summer day at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, New Jersey. Rolling hills and trees were the perfect backdrop for the ceremony, held alongside the mansion overlooking the golf course, and the natural beauty of the upper lawn set the stage for the cocktail hour. The reception tent featured punchy florals from Jardiniere and cheerful details like the coasters from For Your Party and balloon guest book by Suzy Shoppe. Peach Donna Morgan bridesmaids dresses were the perfect complement to Laura’s gorgeous and airy Jim Hjelm gown. Peony Events made sure the day went off without a hitch, and guests partied throughout the evening to the sounds of Phase One. We are head over heels for these classic images from Charlie Juliet Photography!
From the bride: I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful day for our wedding celebration. There was hardly a cloud in the light blue sky and everything came together perfectly with the help of Peony Events and was captured beautifully by Charlie-Juliet.
The day began with the bridal party gathering in the Brady Estate to get ready. The upstairs guest rooms are decorated with floral and feminine details, which was perfect for primping with my mom and bridesmaids. The groomsmen had the more masculine downstairs library, bar, and sitting room to relax in before the day’s festivities commenced.
For the ceremony, I loved how our guests were seated alongside the mansion overlooking the golf course while we exchanged our vows. During cocktail hour, they were able to take in the scenery on the upper lawn. The reception took place in a white draped tent and gold chandeliers and featured a large dance floor. The stately but simple tent was the perfect backdrop to the punchy floral arrangements from Jardiniere decorating each table.
The main inspiration for the day was playing off the colors naturally present at Hamilton (green, white, gold), and tying in navy, light blue, and peach in the bridal party attire, flowers, and invitation suite/day of pieces from Mae Mae Co.
I was immediately drawn to my dress because of the airy petals that adorned the ballroom style skirt. I designed our cake to match the ribbon on my dress belt, the white peonies in my bouquet, and the swiss dot pattern on our napkins and escort cards.
I also wanted to fill the day with personal touches for guests who traveled from near and far to be with us. We packed our welcome bags with our favorite treats including salt water taffy from Shriver’s of Ocean City NJ, our favors were NY-made Momofuku Milk Bar cookies, we added “C” initialed match barrels to the tables since we collect matchbooks from places we have visited, and we created coasters to save our guests’ drinks so they could spent the night on the dance floor.
One of my favorite takeaways from the day is the photo of all our guests on the mansions steps. It’s an all-encompassing reminder of everyone who shared the day with us. From start to finish, our wedding was a beautiful celebration filled with love, laughter, and fun with our closest friends and family. I wish we could do it again!
