It all began with a video, and the raw display of emotion of the dance. The gorgeous abandoned location and organic beauty inspired Claire Duran Weddings & Events to design a shoot evoking the airy and flowing movement of dance, in a location embodying the beauty of the inspiration. The Patapasco Female Institute in Ellicot City, MD was the perfect space to bring the vision to life. This former girl’s school was founded in 1837, and is now maintained as a historical ruin and event space – it is also rumored to be haunted by one of the former students. Elements reminiscent of dance moves, such as the soft tulle dress from Carine’s Bridal, watercolor calligraphy by LittleCat Creative, and lush florals by Della Blooms brought the vision to life. Industrial elements such as the reclaimed wood table from Su Casa and slate placemats from Brooklyn Slate added a modern touch. We adore the divine images from Lissa Ryan Photography!
