Romantic + Feminine Wedding Inspiration with Plum Pretty Sugar
Sometimes images are so close to your heart that you are just bursting with excitement to share them, and that’s exactly the case with today’s bridal inspiration featuring the exquisite collection from Plum Pretty Sugar! I have long been in love with their feminine and romantic collection of apparel and accessories, with beautiful silhouettes and whisper-soft fabrics in enchanting patterns and garden-inspire palettes. So imagine my pure joy when I was able to travel to Charleston to style this gorgeous shoot with my fellow Aisle Society blogger, Gillian of Coastal Bride featuring Plum Pretty Sugar and captured in the most perfectly romantic way possible by the incredible Kelly Sauer.
We began the day at the historical Legare Waring House, a classic Charleston venue full of Lowcountry charm. It was the perfect getting-ready suite for our lovely ladies, each donning romantic and ethereal Plum Pretty Sugar robes. Plum Pretty Sugar’s collection evokes a sense of elegance and whimsy, and each of our lovely ladies donned a coordinating print. Wedding Hair by Charlotte and Pamela Lesch Makeup styled the relaxed and romantic hair and makeup perfectly!
After enjoying time together in the getting-ready suite, the maids donned their PPS Couture frocks. PPS Couture is an intoxicating collection of handcrafted gowns from Plum Pretty Sugar featuring flowing, feminine silhouettes in delicate silk and silk chiffon. Special details such as pockets, detachable sleeves, and hand-draping make PPS Couture both alluring and remarkably unique.
Taryn is absolutely radiant in a layered Modern Trousseau gown, while our groom Greg is dapper in a classic tuxedo from Berlin’s Clothing. SYG Designs created stunning bouquets with exotic blooms befitting the utterly perfect location of Cannon Green, the setting for our first look. Set in downtown Charleston, Cannon Green‘s enchanting walled courtyard is full of reflecting pools and statuesque palmettos, and its whitewashed entry with green shutters is pure old-world Charleston elegance.
Plum Pretty Sugar‘s delicate pieces are perfect for your bridal party, but their apparel and accessories are about more than just the wedding—they are also for all of the days after! Stop back in later this week when I’ll be sharing Day 2 of this incredible shoot, the Charleston Honeymoon!
When you think about the gorgeousness that is Plum Pretty Sugar, of course the first things that pop to mind are their fabulous robes, shortie sets, and PPS Couture bridesmaids dresses, but what is absolutely wonderful about the wide variety of apparel and accessories available at Plum Pretty Sugar is that the romantic, feminine styles are about more than just the wedding: there are chic styles for your honeymoon and all of the days after! I was so thrilled to style this two-day shoot in Charleston at the premiere boutique hotel, Zero George Street, featuring all sorts of beautiful styles from Plum Pretty Sugar (catch part 1 HERE!), and just wait until you see the easy-to-wear looks for your honeymoon!
Sugar, spice, and everything really nice sums up Jamie and Casey’s South Carolina shindig. The Charlotte couple wanted something more quintessentially southern, so they traveled a bit further south into Charleston and fell in love with The Governor Thomas Bennett House. They were spellbound by its classic look; white exterior with black shutters, and its all-in-one manicured garden perfect for the ceremony and reception. This accommodating setup can go with any style or color palette, but we are totally fawning over the soft pastel wedding aesthetic that Ashley Wenz with Boutique Planning made come to life. Reception tables were kept light and airy with dove gray and blush linens from Snyder Rentals. To add some oomph, weathered farmhouse tables sans linens were the ideal complement to add some texture to the space. Before we go on and on, we’re just going to let Ava Moore Photography do the rest of the storytelling about this beautiful day.

A backdrop of verdant green climbing ivy and dreamy painterly florals would play a muse for any impressionist artist, so it’s no wonder that Indigo Event Design chose the stunning gardens and chateau of Monet Vineyards for this Claude Monet-inspired shoot. BLUE Floral Company created a pastel rainbow of locally-sourced florals to paint the outdoor ceremony space and stunning bouquet that is worthy of Monet’s brush itself. Lush centerpieces of coral and butter yellow peonies, lavender scabiosa, and dusty blush roses sit atop a french blue table, with just the right touch of regal elegance from gold flatware and chargers. Romantic and intimate, these photos by RTFaith Photography prove that even a micro-wedding can be a fairytale wedding too!
This dreamy elopement sent to us by Anastasia of Portugal Wedding Photographer has us wishing we could run away to Lisbon to recreate every detail of this breathtaking shoot. The beauty and elegance of the city architecture was a stunning backdrop for this impeccably styled couple and the bouquet by Decorelle was lush pastel perfection. Afterwards, Anastasia brought the couple to the seaside in Cascais for a relaxed but still incredibly stylish honeymoon session with the most adorable getaway partners we could imagine!
Today’s wedding inspiration comes from the idea that downsizing your guest list and implementing social distancing measures into your big day does not mean that you have to downsize your vision! Magnolia Celebrates shows us ways to elevate your wedding style, such as using smaller, more intimate tables and creating unique tablescapes or place settings for each, using stately plate covers for a plated meal, or displaying a faux wedding cake throughout the event. The team behind today’s post was inspired by the old Spanish architecture of the venue. They incorporated shades of mauve, brick, cappuccino, and sage into the tablescapes, each table getting a unique set of linens and gorgeous florals by Flowers By Yona. So many wonderful ideas from this shoot and these photos by Caroline Willett are sure to give you lots of ideas for your own wedding, whether it will be in the time of social distancing or not!
Brumby Hall & Gardens is the perfect blank canvas for this dreamy bridal portrait session by Heather K Cook Photography. Styled by Emily Claire Events, the inspiration was to let natural beauty shine through, so Lindsay Coletta created a stunning bouquet of roses, sweet pea, and pieris in earthy shades of blush that complemented the outdoor setting perfectly. While we adore the bride’s perfectly draped BHLDN gown and the groom’s dapper suit from The Modern Gent, be sure to check out all of the gorgeous photos below because you’re sure to love the surprise guest at the end who also got all dressed up for the occasion!
This dreamy shoot from Rachel Tweggs Photography has the essentials for a perfectly elegant winter wedding: lush florals lit with warm candlelight, the most ethereal white gown, and a heavy blanket of fresh snow. Arise Floral Company added pops of fuchsia into the gorgeous textured tablescape with bold poppies and amaranthus. But what warms this shoot up more than anything else? A couple so visibly in love, it would warm anyones hearts! Be sure to check out all the details in the gallery below!
Patrice and Nick met in one of the most unique ways we’ve heard of: the pair were production assistants on former TV sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine”. They started out as friends and their relationship bloomed from there, ultimately with an inventive engagement proposal that involved Patrice’s boss (read more below about that fun tale). They wanted a wedding that drew in their love for California, Patrice’s Filipino heritage, and an overwhelming elegance and thoughtfulness. Sabine Scherer Photography captured their wedding, from the stunning ceremony at Patrice’s family church, St. Dominic Catholic Church to their Bently Reserve reception. Their reception venue is hailed for its opulence, so to add balance, Mango Muse Events and Violetta Flowers pulled in live trees, organic asymmetrical elements and garlands, and added meaningful orchids and roses (as an homage to family that had passed on). Of course, fun had to be had, so to kick off their reception, the newlyweds partnered up to do a medley dance that ended with hip hop. We love all of the injections of Patrice and Nick’s fun personalities and fascinating lives all throughout their big day.
There are some locations on this planet that just leave us in awe and the south of France is certainly one of them. This Provençal inspiration is in the most decadent of places and we couldn’t dream it up better if we tried. Alicia from Alicia Yarrish Photography was in her photographic element. Lavender fields and craggy, rocky lookout points gave way to dramatic landscape photographs while a private French chateau was the setting for the intimate elopement. Sophie Epton was inspired by the surroundings and ultimately, a soft, neutral, pastel palette mimicked the land. The most impressive story came via the florists, Remi and Gold, who hauled the beautiful blooms from Paris and they survived the eight-hour trek. No stone was left unturned with this elegant editorial.
Today’s feature is for everyone who loves luscious blooms! The Petal Report and Frampton’s Flowers created a gorgeous springtime shoot set against the dreamy backdrop of Charleston, SC, showcasing the spring season’s best florals! The months of March-July bring out some of the most colorful and unique blooms, from garden roses to anemones, in a bounty of beautiful pastel colors. Cayleigh and Elaine’s advice? Stick with the stems that are blooming during your wedding season and let their varieties guide your color palette! You’ll get the most healthy and vibrant blooms. The glimmering blue waters of the Mediterranean and narrow streets of Eze set the scene for this light and airy bridal inspiration shoot from Romina Rezza and Purewhite Photography. Romina, an interior stylist and restorer who works with modern art, set out to create an elegant mood, evocative of the gorgeous surroundings, and featuring eco-friendly materials. Delicate gowns by Atelier Yooj in soft, hand-dyed silk with French lace pair with a stunning bouquet of greenery and lotus pods designed by Simmi Torino. To create the table, the team turned to Food for Good, where food waste is recycled to create a series of bespoke fabrics, paper, ribbons, and twine. A tablecloth dyed with artichokes and napkins colored by red onions paired with tableware ceramics made exclusively for the shoot by Alice Reina of Bianco di China. Accompanying brass cutlery was sourced from a local antique market. Stationery hand-lettered by Cecilia B and soft hair and makeup from Silvia Galeazzo completed the look. Get ready to be transported to the French Riviera in the stunning imagery from Purewhite Photography!
There are some days that are simply perfect, and today is one of those days, because at long last, we are debuting Aisle Society to the world, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share the absolutely gorgeous Aisle Society official brand shoot that I styled with Lauren of Every Last Detail and a dream team of Chicago’s best wedding pros at downtown’s most fabulous wedding venue, Chez. Together with the ladies from Estera Events, we set out to create an event that would showcase all of the things that Aisle Society represents: fun, friendship, community, and of course, utterly beautiful wedding inspiration! Dramatic draping from Drape Kings was the centerpiece of the room, swathed along the ceiling and leading to a ceremony altar flanked by simple but show-stopping eucalyptus arrangements from Fleur. In the rest of the details, we bathed the whitewashed space in color! Our gorgeous ladies donned frocks from Bella Bridesmaids and David’s Bridal in shades from blush to dusty blue and flowing Truvelle and Sarah Seven bridal gowns, carrying bouquets of vibrant summer blooms. The modern but elegant tabletop features glimmering sequin linens and rose gold chargers and amazing confetti popper menus from Sarah Drake Design. I’m brimming with excitement for you to watch the video of the day by the insanely talented Nicodem Creative (I dare you not to get goose bumps!) and see every gorgeous image from Alexis June Weddings!
Guilty pleasure alert: I absolutely adored Gossip Girl, and especially loved Chuck and Blair, so when this incredible wedding inspiration shoot landed in my inbox, I was utterly gleeful. Though the series is long over, the Upper East Side elite can still inspire as seen in the stunning design by Kaleb Norman James Design. A studded Jenny Packham gown from The Dress Theory evoked the glamour of Blair’s wedding gown, while Chuck’s signature Scotch wasn’t forgotten. Tallant House created a gorgeous pink and white centerpiece cake, flanked by macarons, complementing the Parisian-inspired stationery from Grey & Cake. We are utterly smitten by each and every detail in these images from Kerry Jeanne Photography!
Sarah and Scott originally had a large celebration planned, but like many other brides, COVID changed that. In a cautious manner they decided to move forward with their wedding with just their 12 closest family and friends. Despite the small guest count, the design aspect was large. Their outdoor ceremony took place surrounded by banyan trees under the most stunning Chuppah. Reception was followed with the most divine tent with flowing florals and hints of citrus.
This romantic and intimate editorial shoot is set in a field of wildflowers at the Green Door Gourmet farm in Nashville. Styled by RSVP Events, the design features hues of pinks, peaches, and yellows, with gold and lilac accents for the perfect romantic summer wedding. The ceremony setting is a gorgeous floral arbor in the wildflower field, with a table, bar, cake, and a champagne/cocktail cart nearby.
After driving through the English countryside and up to the gates of Hencote Estate Winery with its hillside vineyards and Georgian hay barn, the team behind today’s shoot said they felt like they had crossed the Channel into France! Envisioning a late summer or early autumn wedding, they chose an elegant fall color palette with touches of champagne and pops of coral. Calisto By Christina incorporated autumnal foliage and pastel florals in shades of peach and ivory into stunning arrangements for both the ceremony space and tablescape. Elegant and warm with just a hint of understated glamour, you’re going to love all these photos by Madara Kurtisa Photography, so be sure to see the full gallery below!
The charming courtyard gardens, iconic archways and pillars, and classic elegance of Ebell of Los Angeles was not only the perfect backdrop, but also the inspiration behind the amazing shoot from To Be Loved Events that we are so excited to share with you today! Blooms Dunn Right chose soft yellow, coral, blush, and brighter pink roses for the bridal bouquet and centerpieces to mirror the warm tones of California’s sunsets, and created a stunning free-standing floral frame to highlight the couple during their intimate wedding ceremony. Stationery by Jackie Chen Design also takes centerstage in this shoot, featuring gorgeous calligraphy on luxe paper in the perfect shades to compliment the event. Get your Pinterest boards ready and check out the full gallery below because every detail in these amazing photos by Danielle Bacon Photography is absolute perfection!
Dreamy, elegant, and a bit playful, today’s shoot is inspired by a bold and summery citrus-hued palette. Events with Becca designed a tablescape bursting with bright blooms, fresh-cut fruits, and a touch of romance from the beautiful calligraphy by Caitlin O’Bryant Design. The Bloom & Co. mixed florals in bold and buttery shades of yellow, orange, pink, and red, in both the stunning bouquet and centerpiece. Be sure to check out all the amazing photos by Emily Kirsten Photgraphy to see every detail like all the delicious desserts as well as the adorable pup who got all dressed up and joined in on the shoot!
While a bright and bold color palette will often be the one to steal the show, today’s inspiration from Iris and Oak Events proves that neutrals can very much hold their own in the spotlight! The fresh white walls of Felicity Church were the ideal clean slate for Leaf and Petal Nola to create a stunning garden of gold and white florals. Lush centerpieces — low compotes overflowing with monochromatic roses, orchids, and ranunculus — perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the runner-less wooden table set with gold flatware and cut glass. Every detail in this New Orleans shoot is so very magical, you’re going to love all of these photos from Tasha Rae Photography!

Cody and Abby’s vision of a classic Lowcountry wedding came to life when they said their vows beneath the majestic oaks of Charleston’s beautiful Boone Hall Plantation. Their outdoor ceremony gave way to a celebration inside the Cotton Dock, where Beautiful Brides Events and The Purple Magnolia created an elegant atmosphere with glimmering chandeliers and swaths of greenery. Their perfect blend of rustic elegance was beautifully captured by Ava Moore Photography!
California-based Kate and Edward decided to tie the knot in Charleston, South Carolina, and fell in love with the classic and historic aesthetic of the Bennett House. Two hours before their ceremony, a ferocious summer storm came through, drenching their ceremony garden. Undeterred, The Petal Report and Tiger Lily moved the ceremony indoors to the base of the dramatic staircase. The rain cleared just as the ceremony ended, just in time for the couple and their guests to dance the night away to Palmetto Soul. These two are hopelessly in love, and it shows through in every beautiful moment captured by Rachel Red Photography!
With soft neutral hues and a spectacular beachside setting, Margaret Kyle and Kyle’s Charleston destination wedding is pure coastal elegance. The couple knew they wanted a destination wedding, and Margaret Kyle’s aunt and uncle were married at the Seabrook Island Club, and those fond memories translated into the perfect place to get married! Their vision of an understated but elegant look was brought to life by Lindsay Merhege of Fox Events. Tiger Lily Flowers designed florals that celebrated the neutral palette, with statement accents of greenery and a mixture of snowy white blooms. From the incredible palm tree backdrop to the beautiful cake by Delicious Desserts, every moment is beautifully captured by Jennings King Photography!
Jules and Nick both hail from the South, and both have ties to Charleston, so a destination wedding in the Lowcountry was an easy choice! They selected Lowndes Grove Plantation, as Jules had always dreamed of getting married outside under the trees. The location, lined with oak trees right on the Ashley River, could not have been more perfect. Their vision of a romantic, Gatsby-inspired soiree was brought to life working with Mac and B. Events. They selected a color palette of champagne, ivory, and gold. Tables were adorned with ample florals by Branch Design Studio, in soft metallic vases, adding a bit of shimmer to the clean white tents. Glimmering chandeliers wrapped in greenery completed the scene and the result is exquisite! This sunset stunner from Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay is one for the ages!
Noelle’s vision was for a whimsical fairy tale garden wedding, and Charleston’s stately Gadsden House was the perfect setting. Working with Kathleen of King Street Hospitality Group, Noelle and Corey selected a color palette of dusty blue, crisp white, and accents of greenery, and the palette extended right through Noelle’s gown, a fantastic Hayley Paige Occasions ballgown with a dusty blue skirt and jeweled belt. The reception extended throughout the home onto the portico and each table featured natural wood chargers, gold flatware, and posies of greenery designed by Branch Design Studio. We’re smitten with every beautiful moment captured by Ava Moore Photography!
Inspired by the colors of Charleston, this stunning editorial for The Film Gathering features a color palette of shades of pink and purple, sprinkled with pops of marigold – soft and whimsical, but refined. With the majestic oaks of Middleton Place as the backdrop, the design team of Magnolia & Grace Events and Lindsay Bishop Events created an enchanting sweetheart table with luxe velvet linens, vintage gold flatware, auburgine taper candles, and a large cascading compote centerpiece. The result is absolutely breathtaking! We adore how this shoot mixes modern touches (those shoes!) with classic elements (that vintage car!) for a completely unique and timeless look! You’re going to fall instantly in love with the gorgeous images by Live View Studios!
