Elegant Dusty Pink Mansion Wedding Inspiration

The gorgeous Armour House mansion, set just outside of Chicago, inspired this elegant and romantic inspiration shoot conceptualized and photographed by Alexandra Lee Photography and planned by Jordan of Events by JVB. Loose, organic florals by Fleur Couture accentuated the blush, mauve, and greenery color palette, and a showstopping hand-painted cake from The Quintessential Cake and Paper Love Club completed the scene. The result: spectacular!

In their own words

What was your design inspiration?
This shoot started from a love of the Armour House, located in Lake Forest, Illinois. In the Chicagoland area, it is hard to find an estate, mansion style venue, and the Armour house has it all. From the intricate, beautiful architecture inside, to the gorgeous gardens, the Armour House is sure to impress your wedding guests. Since I loved the Armour House so much, I based the whole shoot around the venue itself. The words I wanted this shoot to portray were elegance, joyful, soft, romantic, and high end using mauve, blush, and greenery as the main color palette. And these vendors did an amazing job to help me do just that!

The Flowers
We knew we wanted to have class and elegance, but to keep things romantic, Fleur Couture created florals that were both high end and elegant, but also loose in structure to help create the romantic feel we were going for. She placed florals on the stairs, in the fountain, and helped create the gorgeous centerpiece and amazing bouquet.

The Cake
Victoria of The Quintessential Cake created a gorgeous 3-layer cake with unique shapes on each layer. The invitation designer, Ashley, and Victoria paired together to have Ashley hand paint the crest and flowers on to the cake itself. Victoria is the queen of sugar flowers which she placed on the cake in creative places.

The Details
To stray from the usual gold, we went with plated, muted silver for the rentals. Ashley from Paper Love Club hand painted and calligraphed on tiny little bottle vases that were used as place cards and tiny centerpieces at each seat for guests to take home. Each place setting had a gorgeous handpainted menu.

The Attire
The gown used for this shoot was designed by Calla Blanche and had such gorgeous details. We adored that it was a champagne color which complemented beautifully with the blush and mauve color palette. It’s such an elegant dress. To adhere with the high class, elegant feel for this wedding, we had Grant, owner of The Wedding GPS, help us with the tux. The Wedding GPS is a service for men to help on the wedding day from styling the tux to helping guys on the wedding day get tie bow ties and fold pocket squares. Grant has a knack for men’s styling, so we looked to him to help us pair the perfect suit for Jason, the groom. We knew a black tux would be too harsh with the soft color palette, so we opted for a dark navy blue tux instead.
