Vintage English Wedding Day Inspiration

Seattle’s gorgeous historical Rainer Chapter House was modeled after George Washington’s Mt. Vernon home in Virginia. It contains a multitude of antique furniture and framed portraits that have the effect of bringing you back in time to the late 18th century, and this shoot photographed by Audrey Norman Photography effortlessly blended the classical venue with current trends. A neutral color palette of champagne, ivory, blush, and gold melded with the ornate interior, and pops of texture created a soft feel, especially when paired with romantic candlelight on the elegant tabletop with a ruched cheesecloth runner. Botanique Flowers styled a warm and inviting centerpiece with warm peach and sage tones, and The Sweet Side designed a cake with square tiers embellished with ivory flowers inspired by the Pronovias gown from Labelle Salon. Every sophisticated detail in the design by Pacific Engagements beautifully mixes classic and contemporary – we are completely smitten!

With a stunning and vibrant color palette of mustard, floral, and gray, this fabulous team of Florida wedding pros created a romantic and whimsical shoot set at Cypress Grove Estate. Inspired by the gorgeous mustard color of a Jenny Yoo bridesmaid gown, Tickled Pink Brides and Casie Marie Photography designed a classic soiree perfect for any season. Andi Mejia created an invitation suite with dove gray typography and illustration of the estate, and Bakers Cottage Cakes made a breathtaking yellow cake with whimsical edible flowers. With soft neutral hues and a spectacular beachside setting, Margaret Kyle and Kyle’s Charleston destination wedding is pure coastal elegance. The couple knew they wanted a destination wedding, and Margaret Kyle’s aunt and uncle were married at the Seabrook Island Club, and those fond memories translated into the perfect place to get married! Their vision of an understated but elegant look was brought to life by Lindsay Merhege of Fox Events. Tiger Lily Flowers designed florals that celebrated the neutral palette, with statement accents of greenery and a mixture of snowy white blooms. Ashley and Alan’s elegant wedding at DeLille Cellars took full advantage of the natural beauty of their Washington locale. The couple immediately fell in love with the lush garden and charming pond, as well as the European villa inspired chateau. Holly of Perfectly Posh Events worked with the couple to design a timeless event with a delicate and airy feel. A color palette of blush, pale peach, and white beautifully blended with lush greenery in their tented reception with florals by Sugar Pine. Ashley was drawn to classic and feminine gowns, and selected a fitted Inbal Dror gown with lovely lace detailing, while her bridesmaids donned floaty pale blue Amsale dresses. Warm fall colors, ethereal details, and enchanting florals combine to make this one of the most stunning autumn inspiration shoots ever! Buttery shades of caramel in the florals from Thorne and Thistle were accented by subtle pops of fall oranges and pinks. Christina Sloan Events created a scene inspired by personal details, such as the family crests on hand-lettered stationery by Alex Fly Designs, handmade paper by Tara Spencer and the blue marble cake by Cakes by Kim. Spring has sprung and we’re so thrilled to share the styled shoot that myself and the Aisle Society ladies created for the recent Indie Wed event! Working alongside the spectacular Abby of Heirloom Event Co., we designed the 3rd floor lounge of Ravenswood Event Center to celebrate spring and our “Love is in Bloom” theme! Working with a color palette of blush, peach, yellow, and chartreuse, Jill Christine Studio created gorgeous floral arrangements that perfectly accentuated gowns from BHLDN and the natural, dewy, beauty looks by Nika Vaughan and her team. Chicago Vintage Weddings had the perfect pastel lounge furniture to set the scene, and Sugar Fixe celebrated the seasons with a cake table featuring winter, spring, summer, and autumn confections. After driving through the English countryside and up to the gates of Hencote Estate Winery with its hillside vineyards and Georgian hay barn, the team behind today’s shoot said they felt like they had crossed the Channel into France! Envisioning a late summer or early autumn wedding, they chose an elegant fall color palette with touches of champagne and pops of coral. While a bright and bold color palette will often be the one to steal the show, today’s inspiration from Iris and Oak Events proves that neutrals can very much hold their own in the spotlight! The fresh white walls of Felicity Church were the ideal clean slate for Leaf and Petal Nola to create a stunning garden of gold and white florals. Lush centerpieces — low compotes overflowing with monochromatic roses, orchids, and ranunculus — perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the runner-less wooden table set with gold flatware and cut glass. Elena and Jonathan’s wedding vision was “Grace Kelly does New Orleans” and wow, did they deliver! With classic, timeless elements inspired by her grandmother’s wedding and a palette of soft blues and mustard yellow, their New Orleans wedding at Maison Montegut pays homage to their families while creating a chic and sophisticated atmosphere. Emily Sullivan Events made sure the day went off without a hitch, and Poppy and Mint created florals with vibrant pops of yellow to accent the fresh greenery of the courtyard reception. What do you get when you combine two gorgeous brides, an adorable puppy, spectacular flowers, and the styling of Chicago Vintage Weddings? Perfection! This spring wedding inspiration shoot features the most lovely blooms from Thistle + Plume adorning the ballroom in the Virgin Hotel Chicago, accented by decor (how much do you love those disco balls?) from Atmosphere Events Group. Our brides Jackie and Nina donned chic Varca Bridal attire from Honey Bridal and we are pretty much obsessed with their bridal looks by Debra Petrielli. Every detail from the hand-drawn stationery by Emily Rose Ink to the beautiful images by True Grace Photography is complete perfection!

The historical Vinoy in St Petersburg is a throwback to old Florida, and a dreamy setting for a classic wedding! Michelle and Colton chose to hold their ceremony in the lush tea garden, its fountain dripping in garlands from Marigold Flower Co, and then treated their guests to a gorgeous reception in the ballroom, where the blush and gold palette beautifully balanced the architecture. From the letterpress invitations by Olivia Grace Paperie to the images captured on film by The Ganeys, every detail is timeless and chic!

From Sue Gallo Designs comes this incredible inspiration shoot with stunning florals, modern touches, and a color palette that is to die for! The Art Gallery of Hamilton set the scene, and the dramatic space was perfect for the luxe details: abundant florals, a dramatic ceremony backdrop, and acrylic details from A Special Print to lend a whimsical touch. Shades of mauve, apricot, coral, and blush paired with deeper hues of garnet and merlot in the gorgeous, lush florals, set atop a mauve velvet linen from Simply Beautiful Decor. The mix of textures is lovely, and every detail is flawlessly captured by Kasia Jurowski Photography!

Kelsea and Joseph pictured “greenery and lights and dancing under the stars” for their wedding day, and their love of the outdoors led them to Fort Worth’s Heart of the Ranch. Nestled along the Trinity River and with a canopy of trees, it was the perfect setting for their romantic soiree. They were married under stunning floral arch from R Love Floral, and their tented reception featured cascading florals on the head table, a donut wall, and the most perfect greenery chandelier above the dance floor! There was even a beer wall where custom monogrammed cups set as favors. A subtle golf theme (Joseph is a golf lover!) played throughout, with a golf bag groom’s cake, flag escort cards, and even lawn games including a golf-themed cornhole game. When you combine the rolling hills of the Edna Valley with an evening dinner party celebrating true love, you have a truly magical day! Elizabeth and River selected the Center of Effort Winery for their Central California wedding, and chose a color palette of shades of of blue and purple, which made the rugged backdrop even more beautiful! Vanessa Noel Events worked with the couple to design an event full of unique details: the seating chart was displayed on lanterns, textured blue velvet linens from La Tavola Linen graced the farmhouse tables, and a fabulous dessert table from Paper Cake Events with woodland florals by Noonan’s Wine Country Designs was a showstopping addition to the intimate outdoor affair. Inspired by the colors of Charleston, this stunning editorial for The Film Gathering features a color palette of shades of pink and purple, sprinkled with pops of marigold – soft and whimsical, but refined. With the majestic oaks of Middleton Place as the backdrop, the design team of Magnolia & Grace Events and Lindsay Bishop Events created an enchanting sweetheart table with luxe velvet linens, vintage gold flatware, auburgine taper candles, and a large cascading compote centerpiece. The result is absolutely breathtaking! We adore how this shoot mixes modern touches (those shoes!) with classic elements (that vintage car!) for a completely unique and timeless look! The charming courtyard gardens, iconic archways and pillars, and classic elegance of Ebell of Los Angeles was not only the perfect backdrop, but also the inspiration behind the amazing shoot from To Be Loved Events that we are so excited to share with you today! Blooms Dunn Right chose soft yellow, coral, blush, and brighter pink roses for the bridal bouquet and centerpieces to mirror the warm tones of California’s sunsets, and created a stunning free-standing floral frame to highlight the couple during their intimate wedding ceremony. Stationery by Jackie Chen Design also takes centerstage in this shoot, featuring gorgeous calligraphy on luxe paper in the perfect shades to compliment the event. There’s nothing dreamier than a field of lavender at golden hour, so it’s no surprise that the team behind this shoot chose Blue Barn Lavender Farm as their location and inspiration! The bride is positively radiant in a couture Claire Pettibone gown and the classic bouquet of ivory and blush roses by Willow Garden Floral Design and Gift Boutique is the perfect accessory, stunning and subtle at the same time. Touches like fresh lavender tosses and lavender linens dot the tablescape as a nod to the venue. The promise of spring with its creamy pastels and fresh blooms reemerging in nature is the muse for this beautiful shoot from Kallie Dawn Photography. Patrice and Nick met in one of the most unique ways we’ve heard of: the pair were production assistants on former TV sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine”. They started out as friends and their relationship bloomed from there, ultimately with an inventive engagement proposal that involved Patrice’s boss (read more below about that fun tale). They wanted a wedding that drew in their love for California, Patrice’s Filipino heritage, and an overwhelming elegance and thoughtfulness. Sabine Scherer Photography captured their wedding, from the stunning ceremony at Patrice’s family church, St. Dominic Catholic Church to their Bently Reserve reception. Their reception venue is hailed for its opulence, so to add balance, Mango Muse Events and Violetta Flowers pulled in live trees, organic asymmetrical elements and garlands, and added meaningful orchids and roses (as an homage to family that had passed on). Of course, fun had to be had, so to kick off their reception, the newlyweds partnered up to do a medley dance that ended with hip hop. We love all of the injections of Patrice and Nick’s fun personalities and fascinating lives all throughout their big day.
