Romantic and Elegant Pastel Winery Wedding

Ashley and Alan’s elegant wedding at DeLille Cellars took full advantage of the natural beauty of their Washington locale. The couple immediately fell in love with the lush garden and charming pond, as well as the European villa inspired chateau. Holly of Perfectly Posh Events worked with the couple to design a timeless event with a delicate and airy feel. A color palette of blush, pale peach, and white beautifully blended with lush greenery in their tented reception with florals by Sugar Pine. Ashley was drawn to classic and feminine gowns, and selected a fitted Inbal Dror gown with lovely lace detailing, while her bridesmaids donned floaty pale blue Amsale dresses. The winery theme continued with a honeymoon in France’s wine country. Every moment is exquisitely captured by The Great Romance Photo!

In their own words

How did you meet?
Alan and I met during our first year of college at the University of Washington in 2008. We were both members of the Greek System and met at a party. We were both shy, but he asked for my number and then asked me out on a date. Before we knew it we were talking every day and the rest is history.

What is your proposal story?
Alan surprised me with a trip to Napa Valley in November. He had planned to propose outdoors at our hotel overlooking the vineyards, but it started hailing on our first day there. Instead, he had a private room at the hotel’s restaurant decorated with flowers and candles, and he proposed by a fireplace while it rained outside. It was perfect!

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
For our budget we decided to prioritize our venue and food & drinks. Our food and drinks were important to us because we wanted our guests to enjoy themselves, so we splurged on an open bar and our favorite wines from our venue’s winery. Our wedding planner Holly helped us save money on flowers by thinking of ways to re-use our ceremony flowers during the reception. For example, we re-used our ceremony arch as a garland running down the head table at the reception.

What were your favorite parts of the day?
Our favorite part of the day was our first look. I highly recommend every couple have one! It was so special to be able to have a quiet moment together before the ceremony. Once guests arrived and the ceremony started, everything went by so quickly. I’m so glad we had that time to pause and have some time alone together before all of the excitement started.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Enjoy yourself! You only get to go through wedding planning once together, so have fun with your fiance through every venue tour and cake tasting. Don’t get hung up on the small things and just let yourself enjoy the moment. I also highly recommend having a wedding planner or day-of coordinator there on the day of the wedding so you can enjoy the day without worrying if everything is going according to schedule. Our wedding planner Holly did a great job of guiding us to where we needed to be so that I could talk with our guests and not worry about timing. Lastly, I’d advise couples to not worry about trends. Trends come and go and most things will become outdated in the future no matter which option you choose, so just go with whatever style you truly love.
