Romantic Philadelphia Wedding at Union Trust

Emily and Ryan first met when Emily threw a birthday party for her best friend while in college at Miami University, with Ryan attending the party with a mutual friend. The pair ended up talking most of the night and continued to run into each other a few more times before Ryan asked Emily out on their first official date. The couple have been inseparable ever since, with Ryan popping the question a few years later in a magical candlelit Christmas time proposal.

Patrice and Nick met in one of the most unique ways we’ve heard of: the pair were production assistants on former TV sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine”. They started out as friends and their relationship bloomed from there, ultimately with an inventive engagement proposal that involved Patrice’s boss (read more below about that fun tale). They wanted a wedding that drew in their love for California, Patrice’s Filipino heritage, and an overwhelming elegance and thoughtfulness. Sabine Scherer Photography captured their wedding, from the stunning ceremony at Patrice’s family church, St. Dominic Catholic Church to their Bently Reserve reception. Their reception venue is hailed for its opulence, so to add balance, Mango Muse Events and Violetta Flowers pulled in live trees, organic asymmetrical elements and garlands, and added meaningful orchids and roses (as an homage to family that had passed on). Of course, fun had to be had, so to kick off their reception, the newlyweds partnered up to do a medley dance that ended with hip hop. We love all of the injections of Patrice and Nick’s fun personalities and fascinating lives all throughout their big day.

Lauren and Sam were supposed to meet at a wedding. But despite both of their parents’ best efforts, they never actually met at that wedding. Their parents met at the bridal shower and thought that Lauren was perfect for Sam. When they got home, they told him all about the girl they met and conspired to get them together. Sam however, was interested in meeting a girl the bride posted a picture with, not someone his parent’s picked out for him and avoided their match-making. Come to the end of the night, Sam sees Lauren hug his parents goodbye and finally realizes that the girl from Instagram was the girl his parents wanted him to meet all along. In true millennial fashion, the next day Lauren got a Facebook message from Sam asking if she would give him another chance since he didn’t get to introduce himself to her at the wedding. A week later, they went on their first date, and 1,000 days later he’d be asking her to marry him.

Rebekah and Brad met the good ole fashion way: at a bar. Though it may be cheesy, it was pretty much love at first sight for both of them. Brad popped the question a year and a half later on a Malibu beach for the ultimate romantic proposal.

We love this absolutely classic féte hailing from an illustrious museum in our nation’s capital today. This Washington DC wedding was photographed by one of our favorites, Lisa Blume, and it is elegant and so special and timeless. According to Kelly, she couldn’t take her mind off of the National Museum of Women in the Arts’s design and sweetly, how she could picture traipsing down the staircase to meet her dear dad at the bottom to walk her down the aisle to her beau Jamie (tears!). Speaking of tears, we had to mention this touching detail. Kelly needed to have her grandmothers there in some way, so to commemorate these wonderful women in her life, she shipped in two paintings from North Carolina of them and had her grandmother’s tea cup in her bridal suite. Endearingly, the teacup was a gift her grandmother gave to her sister for her wedding.

Debbie and Johnny may have started their relationship on different continents, but that was no match for this couple as they have trotted across the globe together! They ultimately settled in Texas alongside both of their families, and chose to hold an intimate wedding in Grapevine’s The Laurel. Sarah of Keestone Events crafted a romantic and classic wedding with a modern twist. Debbie loves neutral feminine colors and selected a peach and blush palette with pops of gold and sage, and Petals Couture created lovely garden-style arrangements to accentuate the dramatic ballroom. Debbie’s Justin Alexander gown is positively stunning, and her maids selected pink frocks from Azazie. Photography was incredibly important to the couple, and the fine art style of Allen Tsai was a perfect match – we are smitten!

The Ringling Museum is Sarasota’s most spectacular setting, so when Kim and Christian conveyed their vision to NK Productions Wedding Planning, they chose to accentuate the courtyard with lush greenery, white blooms, and pops of burgundy blooms. Victoria Blooms mixed anemones, garden roses, and delphinium to create a romantic, organic feel underneath trees festooned with chandeliers. The scrumptious cake from The Cake Zone was half key lime and half mango—true Florida flavors!—and featured a blue ombre design to add a pop of whimsy and color to the warm and neutral reception. When you find out that Christine and Michael’s guest list consisted of family from 19 different states, you’ll wonder like us how they accommodated every single one of them. They happened upon Morristown, New Jersey because of its proximity to major airports and train stations: a huge plus. What they really lucked out on was The Madison Hotel-Conservatory. Cassi Claire Photography captured the breathtaking venue and its high glass walls, stark white interior with a slight industrial vibe, and the abundance of flowers already perched inside. The couple wanted to keep their colors simple, so they opted for a classic color palette so as not to detract from the conservatory itself. Apple Blossom Flower Shop created pieces with white flowers front and center and heaps of greenery strewn throughout, from the bouquets to the centerpieces. Check out local conservatories for their wedding availability; they are usually decked out in impressive flora and fauna already and are such a unique option for wedding venues.

Let’s all take a moment (or two) out of our day to check out this bliss-inducing Janita Mestre wedding. It’s delightfully in the desert, so of course you’re going to spot a few cacti at Galway Downs, but you’re going to see such a dreamy color palette too. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, Stephanie and Alex wanted to evoke love all throughout, so they picked pink as their go-to hue. Big and bright blush and ivory florals by Events by Floral Sensations complemented the eye-catching David’s Bridal mauve bridesmaids’ dresses, and we loved this idea, too. Instead of continuing the soft tones everywhere, shake up the colors like Stephanie and Alex and throw a deep hue in the same color family somewhere that will be seen. Adding it to the bridesmaids’ dresses was a clever touch without overwhelming the couple’s desire to have an airy feel to their wedding day.

After Jessica and Zach got engaged, they sweetly joined Jessica’s parents on a trip to DC to celebrate their wedding anniversary. One of their excursions there was to take a walk on the grounds where her parents held their wedding ceremony, the National Cathedral. Naturally, they were so smitten with the gardens and the buildings that once they found out the Gothic-style cathedral was now hosting wedding receptions in addition to ceremonies, the New Yorkers jumped on the chance to get married there. Jessica wanted an “elegant and ethereal” day so with the help of Caroline Dutton Events and Kate & Lilly Floral Design, they drew inspiration from the Bishop’s Garden on the grounds. With Audra Wrisley capturing all the pretty pale pink roses, peonies, greenery, and everything in between, the duo said their I do’s and partied the night away in one of the most amazing venues we’ve seen.

Brynn and Justin chose the spectacular views of downtown Orlando’s Dr Phillips Center to play host to their chic and classic Florida wedding! Their vision of an open, airy wedding was brought to life in the majestic floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city! Justin (whom according to Brynn is the fashionista in the relationship!) donned his Navy uniform for the ceremony, then changed into a sleek royal blue suit for the reception. A wedding party in pink Sorella Vita dresses accented the blue perfectly. Tickled Pink Brides worked with the couple to make sure their wedding day ran flawlessly, and Peddles created tall but simple centerpieces to fill up the room with its high ceilings. These two are so in love and every moment (including the adorable family time with their pups Lyric and Hudson) was beautifully captured by Kristen Weaver Photography!

Emily, a Londoner, met Kaleb when his career took him to Surrey for a year’s work placement. As he returned to the US, their time apart was miserable. Before even their first scheduled visit, Kaleb knew Emily was the one and traveled back to London for a surprise proposal. Naturally she said yes, and their fairytale romance inspired their London-meets-Charleston wedding: their theme? Southern charm meets English rose. A ceremony at the stunning French Huguenot Church gave way to a reception at the Legare Waring House where Tiger Lily created a whimsical and unique atmosphere with painted gold pineapples and mini champagne bottle place cards for the ladies and kALEb home-brewed beer for the gents set amongst greenery garland centerpieces. Kaleb and his groomsmen wore mixed socks of American and UK flags, the perfect symbol of a perfect pairing. We’re head over heels for the beautiful images captured by Catherine Ann Photography!

If you’re a serious foodie and looking for a venue that will do justice to your love for all things delicious, then look no further than an intimate Frankie’s 457 Spuntino wedding. This Brooklyn-based eatery is an unpretentious haven for those who love nothing more than rustic Italian food that’s big on flavor and personality. It’s no wonder then that Jenissa and Chris decided to keep things intimate and cozy for their special day by choosing Frankie’s as their wedding venue. With its warm, welcoming vibe and mouthwatering cuisine, it was the perfect spot to gather their nearest and dearest for a celebration that was big on romance, laughter, and most importantly, great food.

Even though Anthony and Holly met at work, a full year went by before they first spoke. However, once they did, they soon clicked mainly because of their Latin heritage. They got engaged while staying at a beautiful Berkshires location. It was only the two of them in nature, Holly was looking for birds through the binoculars, and Anthony was on one knee when she turned around.

Nina and Steven worked together at the same company when a mutual co-worker set them up on a blind lunch date, getting Nina’s attention after telling her he was a real-life Captain America. The pair hit it off and started dating a couple months later. After a few years, Steven completely surprised Nina on Thanksgiving weekend, proposing with both their families present.

Kristen and Daniel’s wedding day was filled to the brim with festivities and honored each of their family’s cultures with two separate wedding ceremonies! The celebration began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony where the bride and groom served tea to each set of parents to show their respect and gratitude. Later in the day, Kristen changed from her vibrant red gown to a romantic lace BHLDN gown for a Jewish ceremony under a stunning chuppah decorated with blush, peach, and ivory roses and peonies by Holly Chapple Flowers. They ended the evening with dinner, dancing, and even a sparker send-off filled with cheers from all their closest friends and family. Even the intense heat and humidity of a typical spring day in Dallas couldn’t dim all the smiles at Jessica and Brian’s wedding! After a beautiful ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the celebration continued at the stunning Dallas Scottish Rite Crystal Ballroom where guests sipped signature cocktails surrounded by the venue’s ornate millwork and then dined at sparkling tables decorated with arrangements of soft blush roses and ivory hydrangea by The Rogue Rose. Classic, timeless, and perfectly elegant, it’s clear from all the smiles in these photos from Image Clairity that Jessica and Brian’s wedding day will be one remembered by all who were lucky enough to attend!

After a very quirky match-up on dating site eHarmony, Nicole and Seth found love in one another and were inseparable after that first date. When you know, you just know, right? A mere two years after their initial meeting, Seth enlisted their sweet pups for a surprising and cozy at-home proposal that was conducted in the same exact spot as their first kiss. So sweet!

Southern weddings are usually steeped high in customs and ceremonies that are nothing short of endearing. When Catherine and Benjamin were planning their Richmond wedding, they made sure to include a bourbon burial and unearthing to hold off the rain for their big day (definitely a big deal in the south). Around her Tommy’s Garden bouquet, Catherine wrapped a handkerchief that her maternal grandmother had on her wedding day. She also commissioned Incredible Edibles Bakery to create a carrot cake tier since it was her paternal grandmother’s favorite. These touching gestures carry on through David Abel‘s lens as he captured some of the most heartfelt scenes during Catherine and Benjamin’s fall wedding. Not going to lie, the tender moments from this Virginia wedding took our breath away.

Danielle and Patrick have friends and family all over the country, so they decided to marry in one of their favorite places, Sarasota, Florida, and make it a full weekend celebration for their guests! Sarasota and its beaches have a long history in Danielle’s family and she grew up visiting the Ringling Museum, so it was a dream setting for their celebration! NK Productions took the couple’s vision of a clean, romantic aesthetic with a pastel color palette of blues, pinks, and whites and brought it to life with chic modern touches. Botanica designed a stunning chuppah for their blended ceremony (Danielle is Jewish, Patrick Presbyterian), and worked with the NK Productions team to style a sophisticated reception with modern touches such as acrylics and a sea of candles for the reception. They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, and the best laid plans of a courtyard reception were quickly switched for plan B, a ceremony and reception setup on the dramatic loges overlooking the museum. This made for an intimate event that Danielle says “ultimately made for an even more memorable experience!” This elegant and timeless event is one for the books, beautifully captured by Hunter Ryan Photo!
