Blush Colored Wedding in the Temecula Desert

Let’s all take a moment (or two) out of our day to check out this bliss-inducing Janita Mestre wedding. It’s delightfully in the desert, so of course you’re going to spot a few cacti at Galway Downs, but you’re going to see such a dreamy color palette too. Being so close to Valentine’s Day, Stephanie and Alex wanted to evoke love all throughout, so they picked pink as their go-to hue. Big and bright blush and ivory florals by Events by Floral Sensations complemented the eye-catching David’s Bridal mauve bridesmaids’ dresses, and we loved this idea, too. Instead of continuing the soft tones everywhere, shake up the colors like Stephanie and Alex and throw a deep hue in the same color family somewhere that will be seen. Adding it to the bridesmaids’ dresses was a clever touch without overwhelming the couple’s desire to have an airy feel to their wedding day.

In their own words

How did you meet?

Alex and I met working at our local Gap Inc. Summer of 2015. We got paired up to be in the same closing team. Then I approached Alex and asked for his number. He was just as curious as me, we went on a pizza date a day later then rest was history for us.

What is your proposal story?

Our story began on November 12, 2017. Alex surprised me on a date to Oak Glen Gardens, it was fall and had beautiful weather since the flowers were still bloomed. He had visited this place out with my dad weeks before as he wanted the location to be perfect for his proposal. I have always loved Oregon and this area was filled with greenery and flowers it was PERFECT. He popped the question by a beautiful little lake on a patio. Alex couldn’t have planned it better. Shortly after I said “YES” my family and friends arrived which was followed by a nice celebration at our favorite restaurant.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

Our primary importance was to find a place where our family and friends would celebrate our marriage. We wanted everyone to celebrate and have a great day. From planning the venue to the food, drinks and dessert. It wasn’t just our day to celebrate. Our family and friends plays and important role in our life so it needed to be perfect for everyone.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

I could write a book explaining how many moments made me smile and became my favorite. But, the one that I remember the most is my first look with my dad. It was so perfect and beautifully done. We both had so much emotion and i will definitely always remember that moment. Another is seeing Alex as I walked down the aisle, he looked so happy and was filled with happy tears. Following, was seeing everyone smile and cry. We are so loved and it was good seeing everyone enjoy themselves and felt so much love from everyone. Dancing the night away was my favorite! Everyone became one on the dance floor. I loved it!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

People used to tell me to not stress and to enjoy my engagement. I feel that the bridal book really helped me stay organized and my only advice for couples planning their wedding is to do just that. Stay organized and plan a wedding but still make time to enjoy your engagement. Work together as a couple so that you can both agree on wedding details so that when the big day comes, you feel satisfied that you planned it and did it together.
