French Chateau Wedding Inspired by Nature

Audrey and David had the absolute privilege at marrying at a beautiful French chateau and with the smiles on both of their faces in various photos from Romain Vaucher, their day was beyond joyful and seeped out everywhere. After a proposal in Japan, the two found Chateau de Razay to call their wedding venue. Japan is near and dear to them, so they wanted to bring the colors of a Japanese spring to their wedding, using white and green with blush pink peppered across their decor. Their ceremony was steeped in Madagascan traditions in homage to David’s heritage. The groomsmen wore Malagasy hats and the service was conducted under the Madagascan church. For motif, we love they went simple with their colors; a chateau almost never needs any excessive decor and allowing the chateau’s present decor shine like Audrey and David did will create such a memorable experience.

In their own words

How did you meet?

We met 11 years ago at school. Audrey was applying to join the association which was in charge of promoting the Japanese culture inside the school and David was already on this association.

What is your proposal story?

David proposed during our trip to Japan. After two beautiful weeks traveling around Japan, David made his proposal on the last night in a beautiful garden.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

The most important thing for us was that the guests have a good weekend with us. We wanted to make them spend the weekend without thinking about anything: food, hotel rooms, etc. We organized everything in advance: the rooms in the castle, the food for the 3 days so that the guests felt like they were in an all-inclusive club.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

The ceremony outside, with the sunset, the big trees, the gospel music. Everything was there: the beauty of nature and the emotion.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Get a wedding planner! It helps with the organization, to see clearly what you want and you will have all the time to enjoy your wedding!
