Romantic California Micro Wedding Inspiration

Secluded and covered with a canopy of towering oak trees, Antebellum Oaks Venue was instantly Taylor and Tyler’s choice for their warm, elegant, and romantic fall wedding. Taylor chose rich hues of emerald, plum, ivory, and mauve for their stunning florals by Remi and Gold which blended seamlessly with the venue’s natural beauty. Style was high on their list of priorities for the day, so it’s no surprise that the couple knocked it out of the park with the timeless and elegant bridal party attire and Taylor’s jaw-dropping gown (and cape!) which looks like it’s straight out of a royal portrait! After driving through the English countryside and up to the gates of Hencote Estate Winery with its hillside vineyards and Georgian hay barn, the team behind today’s shoot said they felt like they had crossed the Channel into France! Envisioning a late summer or early autumn wedding, they chose an elegant fall color palette with touches of champagne and pops of coral. Calisto By Christina incorporated autumnal foliage and pastel florals in shades of peach and ivory into stunning arrangements for both the ceremony space and tablescape. A backdrop of verdant green climbing ivy and dreamy painterly florals would play a muse for any impressionist artist, so it’s no wonder that Indigo Event Design chose the stunning gardens and chateau of Monet Vineyards for this Claude Monet-inspired shoot. BLUE Floral Company created a pastel rainbow of locally-sourced florals to paint the outdoor ceremony space and stunning bouquet that is worthy of Monet’s brush itself. Lush centerpieces of coral and butter yellow peonies, lavender scabiosa, and dusty blush roses sit atop a french blue table, with just the right touch of regal elegance from gold flatware and chargers. Emily and Ryan first met when Emily threw a birthday party for her best friend while in college at Miami University, with Ryan attending the party with a mutual friend. The pair ended up talking most of the night and continued to run into each other a few more times before Ryan asked Emily out on their first official date. The couple have been inseparable ever since, with Ryan popping the question a few years later in a magical candlelit Christmas time proposal.

European romance comes to sunny California in this romantic wedding inspiration photographed by Renee Lemaire Photography. Inspired by the architecture of the venue, Kestrel Park, this team of vendors lead by planner Weddings by Susan Dunne captured the effortless elegance of the Provençial garden style. The classic color palette of French blue and cream perfectly complements the chateau-like setting. A tree-lined drive was the ideal ceremony setting, especially with the addition of lush florals and greenery by Mulberry and Moss. After an intimate al fresco garden reception, a black vintage speedster convertible was the ultimate getaway.

College of Charleston alumni Chanel and Alex returned to their old stomping grounds to profess their forevers to each other in downtown Charleston, South Carolina and they certainly did it to the nines. Aaron and Jillian Photography captured the opulence and southern charm of their big day and those wine and blush shades are calling our name. Deep jewel-toned colors were the supreme winners for the day, with the bridesmaids in luxe berry Hayley Paige gowns, exquisite burgundy florals by Petaloso, and a merlot wedding invitation suite with hints of gold. Hands down, an all-white wedding is the utter classic wedding palette. It will go down in wedding inspiration history as one of our favorites here on EAD. As simple as it is, a white color scheme can make a wedding feel so luxurious and elegant and the varieties are endless. In this captivating Flora Bloom Photography editorial at the bright white Venue 1902, Pearl White Events (how perfect) opted for a soft, creamy white and ran amok with it. The venue is painted in a stark white, so gingerly toning the room down with ivory linen-clad tables dotted with blush and gold details and foliage was an exquisite idea. Punctuating it with a cleanly-done ceremony section with heaps of green space and a brick-lined lounge area makes this styled shoot chic, modern, and timeless to boot.

Bridgerton has taken the world by storm with its stunning aesthetics and enchanting romance, so why not take some inspiration from the show on your big day? Katelyn and Caleb are on board with the idea and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Imagine a modern wedding with all the Bridgerton touches, from elaborate floral arrangements to elegant ballgowns. They could exchange their vows in a grand ballroom, lit up by chandeliers as bright as their love, and dance the night away to classical music and modern jams alike. This romantic and intimate editorial shoot is set in a field of wildflowers at the Green Door Gourmet farm in Nashville.  Styled by RSVP Events, the design features hues of pinks, peaches, and yellows, with gold and lilac accents for the perfect romantic summer wedding.  The ceremony setting is a gorgeous floral arbor in the wildflower field, with a table, bar, cake, and a champagne/cocktail cart nearby. 

Kristen and Daniel’s wedding day was filled to the brim with festivities and honored each of their family’s cultures with two separate wedding ceremonies! The celebration began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony where the bride and groom served tea to each set of parents to show their respect and gratitude. Later in the day, Kristen changed from her vibrant red gown to a romantic lace BHLDN gown for a Jewish ceremony under a stunning chuppah decorated with blush, peach, and ivory roses and peonies by Holly Chapple Flowers. They ended the evening with dinner, dancing, and even a sparker send-off filled with cheers from all their closest friends and family. While a bright and bold color palette will often be the one to steal the show, today’s inspiration from Iris and Oak Events proves that neutrals can very much hold their own in the spotlight! The fresh white walls of Felicity Church were the ideal clean slate for Leaf and Petal Nola to create a stunning garden of gold and white florals. Lush centerpieces — low compotes overflowing with monochromatic roses, orchids, and ranunculus — perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the runner-less wooden table set with gold flatware and cut glass. The promise of spring with its creamy pastels and fresh blooms reemerging in nature is the muse for this beautiful shoot from Kallie Dawn Photography. Patrice and Nick met in one of the most unique ways we’ve heard of: the pair were production assistants on former TV sitcom “The New Adventures of Old Christine”. They started out as friends and their relationship bloomed from there, ultimately with an inventive engagement proposal that involved Patrice’s boss (read more below about that fun tale). They wanted a wedding that drew in their love for California, Patrice’s Filipino heritage, and an overwhelming elegance and thoughtfulness. Sabine Scherer Photography captured their wedding, from the stunning ceremony at Patrice’s family church, St. Dominic Catholic Church to their Bently Reserve reception. Their reception venue is hailed for its opulence, so to add balance, Mango Muse Events and Violetta Flowers pulled in live trees, organic asymmetrical elements and garlands, and added meaningful orchids and roses (as an homage to family that had passed on). Of course, fun had to be had, so to kick off their reception, the newlyweds partnered up to do a medley dance that ended with hip hop. We love all of the injections of Patrice and Nick’s fun personalities and fascinating lives all throughout their big day.

Gina and Joe’s story begins like so many others in this generation: via a dating app and an awkward first date. Despite the fact Joe was not a Francophile and “avoided all of the French words” at the French restaurant they ate at, the pair met up again and the rest was history. Before they knew it, they were planning a wedding in Temecula’s wine country with Ashley Bee Photography documenting their day. Purple was common favorite color between the two of them, yet they wanted to break up the hues with various shades. Mauve, gold, and the deep brown wood interior at Wiens Family Cellar created a classic and rustic feel. Gina and Joe are fond of the outdoors, yet due to the weather and the season, they opted to stay warm and cozy inside. Despite this, they wanted to extract those aspects of the outdoors they love and add them into their indoor venue. Long, wooden tables mostly exposed with Sweet Flowers’ wildflower-esque creations gave this nature-loving couple exactly the motif they wanted, and it’s a treat for us all too!

Though the setting may be in Southern California, the Villa Del Sol D’Oro transports us to Tuscany with its romantic European estate feel. Sweetest Love Events designed an elegant outdoor soiree with a beautiful mix of vintage elements and muted tones. Sibyl Sophia Floral Design created a showstopping bouquet and pastel garden-style arrangements for the alfresco reception and sweetheart tables, whose buttery tones echoed the villa’s graceful exterior. The stylish couple embraced the glamour with a sophisticated pale dove gray Willowby by Watters gown from Mary Me Bridal and classic tuxedo from The Black Tux . Lauren and Sam were supposed to meet at a wedding. But despite both of their parents’ best efforts, they never actually met at that wedding. Their parents met at the bridal shower and thought that Lauren was perfect for Sam. When they got home, they told him all about the girl they met and conspired to get them together. Sam however, was interested in meeting a girl the bride posted a picture with, not someone his parent’s picked out for him and avoided their match-making. Come to the end of the night, Sam sees Lauren hug his parents goodbye and finally realizes that the girl from Instagram was the girl his parents wanted him to meet all along. In true millennial fashion, the next day Lauren got a Facebook message from Sam asking if she would give him another chance since he didn’t get to introduce himself to her at the wedding. A week later, they went on their first date, and 1,000 days later he’d be asking her to marry him.

Even though Anthony and Holly met at work, a full year went by before they first spoke. However, once they did, they soon clicked mainly because of their Latin heritage. They got engaged while staying at a beautiful Berkshires location. It was only the two of them in nature, Holly was looking for birds through the binoculars, and Anthony was on one knee when she turned around.

When Haley and Isaiah began planning their wedding they didn’t have lots of detailed Pinterest boards outlining all the must-have elements for their day. Instead, they wanted to focus simply on celebrating love, and with an uncomplicated vision of bright colors and classy elegance, they let Riding Tandem and their vendor team take the lead to create this lovely and beautiful event! Their venue couldn’t have been dreamier and the coral and pink florals by The Wildflower AZ were perfection against the pale blue bridesmaids dresses. We love this absolutely classic féte hailing from an illustrious museum in our nation’s capital today. This Washington DC wedding was photographed by one of our favorites, Lisa Blume, and it is elegant and so special and timeless. According to Kelly, she couldn’t take her mind off of the National Museum of Women in the Arts’s design and sweetly, how she could picture traipsing down the staircase to meet her dear dad at the bottom to walk her down the aisle to her beau Jamie (tears!). Speaking of tears, we had to mention this touching detail. Kelly needed to have her grandmothers there in some way, so to commemorate these wonderful women in her life, she shipped in two paintings from North Carolina of them and had her grandmother’s tea cup in her bridal suite. Endearingly, the teacup was a gift her grandmother gave to her sister for her wedding.

After Jessica and Zach got engaged, they sweetly joined Jessica’s parents on a trip to DC to celebrate their wedding anniversary. One of their excursions there was to take a walk on the grounds where her parents held their wedding ceremony, the National Cathedral. Naturally, they were so smitten with the gardens and the buildings that once they found out the Gothic-style cathedral was now hosting wedding receptions in addition to ceremonies, the New Yorkers jumped on the chance to get married there. Jessica wanted an “elegant and ethereal” day so with the help of Caroline Dutton Events and Kate & Lilly Floral Design, they drew inspiration from the Bishop’s Garden on the grounds. With Audra Wrisley capturing all the pretty pale pink roses, peonies, greenery, and everything in between, the duo said their I do’s and partied the night away in one of the most amazing venues we’ve seen.
