Colorful Fall Wedding with Sunset Colors

Picture it: Brooke and Kyle’s fall wedding with sunset colors. Think rich oranges, deep purples, and warm yellows. It’s only fitting since they’re two of the most vibrant people you’ll ever meet! Their love shines through everything they touch, and their wedding day is no exception. The crisp autumn air is filled with laughter, music, and the sweet smell of pumpkin spice. Every detail is perfect, from Brooke’s stunning bouquet to Kyle’s dapper suit. And as the sun sets on their special day, the sky transforms into a work of art, with hues that perfectly match the happy couple’s personalities. This wedding is one for the books, and Brooke and Kyle will always remember the way their love lit up the world that fall evening.

How did you meet?

We met through a mutual friend. She was in my education cohort at UT, and a friend of his from high school! I saw photos of him and told her he was so cute, and that I would probably marry him one day! We started dating shortly after we graduated.

What is your proposal story?

Oh man. We had a scheduled date night and the plan was to go to Zilker Park for a picnic. Kyle picked me up wearing a cactus button up shirt (I love cacti) and had a fresh hair cut (I had been telling him he needed a trim- haha!). I wore a summer dress that was very casual so I remember thinking… was I supposed to dress up more for this? Because he looked so nice! Finally we got there and couldn’t find parking, there were people throwing flaming sticks around in a group, and we struggled to find a spot to sit. Finally we did and we got to eat our pad Thai- the food we had on our first date! He was acting odd and ate so quickly… and I started getting nervous. Was this it?! Sure enough, he asked to take a walk and I felt like I was going to poop my pants because I got so nervous. I told him I needed a bathroom and he asked if I could wait… a few minutes later he walked to this specific spot (a spot where our friends could see us perfectly) to pop the question- and I said yes! He then walked us down to a pavilion where friends were waiting, and they played a video for me that had all of our favorite people congratulating us on the engagement. It was the best!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding

We really wanted a fall wedding- with colors of rust and orange and neutrals! We toured a couple venues not feeling confident, until finally we toured stonehouse villa. As we walked to our car after the tour, we both looked at each other and asked the other: “did you like it?” We both said we loved it and that it was the one!

Tell us about your attire choices.

We decided the bridesmaids would have 3 different shades of rust colored dresses. We went with navy for the guys suits, along with rust colored accents (for bow ties/ties).

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

I would say we really spent a lot of time and energy trying to pick food and photographer. We went with Kyle’s favorite bbq food truck called Micklethwait, and of course the fabulous Karina, and they were the best decisions!!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Favorite parts for Brooke: the ceremony- it was so sweet and special and I didn’t black out like I thought I would! Also my solo bride dance moment to Truth Hurts by Lizzo! Best. Moment. Ever. Hahaha

Favorite parts for Kyle: sitting at the head table and getting to soak in the experience of having all our favorite people in one spot!

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

I remember telling our florist that I really had no idea what I wanted other than beautiful orange/peachy colors with some greenery for bouquets. And that I really wanted pampas grass! The boho vibes were a strong desire. We bought real pampas from Etsy and jars, and then our florist put them where she thought was best. We ended up going with simple greenery on tables very last minute, but it was still every bit as lovely and all came together so, so well!

Tell us about your wedding cake.

We went with an amazing baker who bakes straight out of her house- she was phenomenal! We decided to do a small rust colored lemon + four berry cake for us to cut, and then 2 sheet cakes- one turtle and one vanilla with chocolate ganache filling. They were AMAZING! And we got a variety of flavors which was great.

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.

The welcome sign was homemade! Plexiglass sheet and paint- voila! We found some formats on etsy to create the table arrangement poster and other details.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

My mom gave me one of her bracelets and her old garter for pictures! But no special traditions really.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Soak it in- the tastings, the tours, the dreaming… It can be overwhelming and a lot,, but it only (hopefully) happens once in your life. Also, be okay with letting go of some things- sometimes your budget just can’t include some things you want and that’s okay.It will be still be beautiful and special because it is a day that you and your spouse become one!??

Did any of your wedding pros deliver a standout experience?

Our photographer blew us away- we love you Karina! We also loved our cakes, our venue and our DJ. Everyone really did a phenomenal job in helping us pull together our beautiful wedding day!
